Brings back great memories of playing Subbuteo with my brother and cousin in the mid to late 1970s. Life seemed so much simpler then.

Coming from the patreon page just to revisit the part about balls. Really making my collection of subbuteo balls grow myself. Tango's being my all time favourite still. Using a new ball every game adds that extra bit of oomph(as Keith would say).

love all the cultural and societal context !
I remember playing heavyweight reds v blues before my local store stocked extra teams, camera stands and scoreboards etc.
And in the power cuts playing in candlelight, one at each corner. In a duffel coat to stay warm.

Thanks so much - so many childhood memories here. Casdon Soccer, Striker, Subbuteo cricket and rugby, and of course the great game itself. With my pocket money, I could either buy a 7" single or a new team. It was a tough choice...

Fantastic show Keith. You really excelled on this one. Loved the ESSO club badges at the beginning. I had a set too back then. Yours was in tip top condition. I was amazed to noticed Linfield and Glentoran were included. I wound back to see if Crusaders and Cliftonville were there but no. Nevertheless, they were fantastic badges. I am going to order Paul Lloyd’s fantastic Birmingham City’s 1970s away team after your brilliant demonstration on Subbuteo bases. Look forward to your next show.

Loving the show and the presentation is slick and professional. Interesting to find out information about our beloved Subbuteo game that I never knew. Wold be nice to see a feature on the different 'official' ball designs that have been released as well as some of the special 'custom's that have popped up for sale.

Fantastic stuff. Really enjoyed the ‘exploding balls’ segment. I was talking about your channel last night and a couple of the guys had never heard of Striker but all were aware of Subbuteo. Then I started singing ‘My perfect cousin’ by The Undertones and had them all singing along. Your theme tune is a catchy little number and reminds me of the afore mentioned classic song. Does anyone know of anymore Subbuteo references in, well anything really,? Maybe you should get the lead singer Fergal in for a game? Thanks for all the research which made for a well informed episode .

Hello, I'm a boy from Portugal, I loved your video as always. I and my father love to play subbuteo but we always end up arguing because when shooting on goal it ends up leaving its position and we couldn't know if it was a goal or not then we were upset with each other. They could offer two metal goals to not create so much confusion. I would be very happy if they invited me, a hug from Portugal.

Sunderland defeat was s game they were never going to win. Only just won the title in 1974 and had Man Utd to thank for beating Liverpool - Jimmy Rimmer - give him a knighthood.
