- This is a quick but detailed video teaching about the quick layer and quick split functionality that is build into the Korg Nautilus and Korg Kronos operating system. If you are every in a time pinch but need to create some simple combi patches, this feature will come in very handy.

Thanks man! Using a 61 key board for a gig I’m doing tonight and didn’t want to bring a full 88 key board I usually use so I needed to figure it out real quick! This was perfect!!!
somehow, I had missed this one, and it is just another of your splendid videos, which are , as usual, clear and concise...
Thank you so much for your continued support!!! It's very much appreciated!
This really helped and was straight forward. I already picked up on this feature from another YT but it never hurts to watch someone else's presentation. Have been following all your videos on this Nautilus. Have noticed how much easier it is to navigate in than my Krome EX. Definitely a good investment especially getting the new AT.
Thanks! I appreciate you for taking the time to watch my content! I've got a new video coming out tomorrow!
Will be watching for it. Thanks for heads up.@@JuliusDeBerryJr
Hey Thanks Julius,as always great tutorial your a real Nautilus goeroe 🙂
Thanks for the kind words! Stay connected!
Thanks Julius for the information, very handy when on the move.lovely features
Glad it helped you out!
I always learn something I didn't know was available on the Nautilus. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for the kind words!!! Got more coming soon!!!! Stay connected!
You answered my question? Ty very much
❤ many thanks!
Good to know about that delay issue @14:20 and how the touchscreen isn't very responsive. My Nautilus should arrive tmrw and I'd be thinking it was defective. Still worth it for those great sounds and features.
I think the touch screen is pretty responsive overall. Watch some of the more recent videos and be sure to update to the latest OS.
This was a very early video for me with the Nautilus and may have had something to do with the delay and it the screen (that and I kinda have fat fingertips)
You will enjoy it! Congrats!

Thanks Julius! Thanks to you, I just layered my favorite synth over a piano sound that has my favorite drum track on it. Pulled down the piano volume a lot and now it's exactly what I want for now! It's nice to know I can add layers as needed too. You are such a help, thankyou for all you do :)
Hey Jules, how are things coming on your Nautilus journey?
@@JuliusDeBerryJr HIya Julius! Been doing a lot of experimentation with all the engine sounds and saving them into favorites so I have easy access. There are soo many oh gosh, don't know whether I can use them all. Layered a few more sounds, got up to 4 layers so far. Not too good on mixing the the volumes of each though, and have scrapped a few as well lol Nevertheless I love my Nautilus to bits!
What do you mean not too good at mixing the volumes? Like with how to to do it? Or how to make them blend together well?
@@JuliusDeBerryJr well, I'm not good at hearing how to stop the strings being too loud over piano, or synth with other sounds, drums too loud etc. Bit of both really, not sure where to change everything but have used pink sliders. I sometimes make it sound like a hot muddled mess and delete to start again. I will get there eventually, just not had the editing experience over many technology changes😒
@@julessmudge3533 you can put a compressor on the parts that are too loud in IFX.
13:31 Hi, try pushing that F3 box and keep your finger still there and then press with your other hand the key you want to change, I discovered that trick in Krome but should work in Nautilus?, so instead of pressing Enter just do it from the LCD display, it is a really helpfull trick, it also works for other sections, try if it works in Nautilus.
A nice clear video thank you. I have a question though: how do you assign the sustain peddle to a specific part (i.e. upper or lower voice) when using the quick split? Thanks again for this tutorial, I found it very easy to understand.
You don't have access to specifics with the pedals... Or really anything else while in the quick split/layer menu. You have to do it once you are in the regular editing screens.
Hey Julius did you ever put your hands on the Fantom O?….I did and liked it a lot!!! Probably wait a year or so my FA is still doing what I need it to do
Haven't played one yet ... But had/have an opportunity to get an 88 for 1500$. Haven't made the jump though.
Gone and get it man!!!
I want the real Fantom though if I end up going that route.
Now how do i save this into my set list
Could you explain, why a few programs, not all, (e.g. 1:17 min in this video, Nautilus Grand) show the same piano 2 x below each other on the main screen (e.g. 2 x SGX-2 / German D Full)??? I found nothing in the Nautilus User Guide, etc. It looks like kind of a layer, but of course it is not. What does this mean and what is the purpose of this feature? I have no idea why I see this duplicate sound/instrument.
Thank you so much for your great (!) content! It helps me so much on my new Nautilus! Kindest Regards from Vienna to USA!
Hey how can i split bass to input 1 also does it split bass sound with effects??
Hallo dear , looks like we can’t have more then 2 layers , I tryed everything to add 3 layer , hope u can help us !
You can definitely have more than 2 layers. Actu up to 16. You are just only able to have 2 using the quick split function. Go to combi mode to add more. Hopefully that helps.
Thanks for watching! Stay connected for more!
Hi can you turn up and down one of the lears with EXP foot controller?
Yes you sure can!
Have you made a vid on the seq to create a song ? Thank you.
Hi Logan. I have done a very small video on looping in the sequencer. I can do something more specific if you want. I've been meaning to.
. anything specific that you would like to see? And would this be for Nautilus or Kronos?
@@JuliusDeBerryJr I did see that and it was helpful. I was thinking of a step 1 to create a song and how and where to save and recall it. Thank you for you reply and videos.
I'll get that video up very soon!
