One safety tip: your helper on the home-made lathe needs safety glasses! I actually wear a shield because a piece of metal went around my glasses and hit my cornea - ouch - and permanently damaged it. Otherwise, I can only offer positive comments on the quality of the work. Great work. I enjoy watching.

What you did with the imput shaft was genius.. Had that problem beginning of the season but was lucky enough we were close to a lathe and fixed it. Then the shaft on the next pass decided to split in half right at the spline.. Great videos and keep up the great work..

You guys are right about working with a crew on a race team. I worked with talented guys on a circle track team. We just turned left at the end of the drag race down the straights. We fabricated our own cars and they ran at or close to the front every race. Nothing better than enjoying a race victory after slaving away in the car before race day. It was all fun no matter how hard we worked or how much we sweated. I really miss those days.

I have picked so many pieces of metal out of my eyes with a needle, and trips to hospital, that I now won't pick up the grinder without it on. Reading glasses are OK, but they aren't good enough. @@robwendland you're lucky you're a right hander. I'm a lefty so that means it is hard for me to use a grinder without it flying the sparks towards me. Need tool manufacturers to make grinders where the motor turns the opposite way for us. I have to admit my hand was a lot steadier back in my 20's wouldn't attempt it today (not to mention that super close up focus is a thing of the past), but I always thought the hospital was no where near as skilled at getting them out as I was.
