There he is folks... Mr. Rob Wendland... the " hitters crew Chief " back at it again! Glad to see you back my friend... will continue to send good thoughts your way sir! I had Dotco take one of my heavier 12,000 rpm air grinders with the removable 90° handle on it, worked on the air motor some more to give it adjustable speed but still transfer a full power stroke... I fabricated an adjustable angle air hammer extension that would swing 60° which pinch mounted with 2 shoulder bolts. To this I made a couple different hand held... knurled and heat treated, cylindrical bucking bars to peen welds on repairs such as these. After hand scraping ways for a couple of decades, it is an essential tool for my hands... at 63... and peening welds, and a few other apps we've found... lol. KUDO'S to you for getting back to it my friend! KUDO'S... Seth
( I just followed you... after my 28th surgery... back to it everyday! )

Another way to do that Hole Repair is with an Offset Jig Boring Attachment Head (Model No. 2) for a Bridgeport Miller, if you don't have a Moore Jig Borer handy. Tram the Head Square with the table, first. Just strap the block to the side of the Milling Table, install your Mounting Plate, Indicate the center of the hole in your plate you want to bore in the block. Remove your plate. Install your Offset Jig Boring Head with a Boring Tool. Adjust it out & Lock it each pass until you sneak up on the Diameter you want, checking with Gage Pins, Inside Micrometer, Vernier Calipers, or a Bore Gage. You won't have to buy & modify reamers each time this type of repair is needed.

I long ago gave up on buying/using hammers that don’t have wooden handles because I got tired of “Computhane”(sp?) hammers falling apart on me at the most inopportune times. My favorite hammer for beating on things that I don’t want to damage is a lead hammer like is used on wire wheels with hub knock-offs and then of course there is a 5lb, 8lb, 10Lb, 15lb and 20lb lead beaters I made from melting down old wheel weights sporting Hickory wood handles
