This time, we're covering the B23R.
This 3-round burst pistol is a future derivative of the M93 Raffica seen in Modern Warfare 2, and in Black Ops 2 multiplayer it is unlocked at level 19.
The Beretta M93R is an Italian weapon, essentially a burst-fire variant of the Beretta 92, better known as the M9 in service with the US military.
The B23R is a semi-fictional derivative of the M93 design - and from the designation, we can infer that it was introduced in 2023.
The R stands for 'raffica', which is the Italian word for burst, or volley.
The B23R model is some distance removed from the existing M93R design - it more closely resembles a custom M1911 pistol in some respects.
Also of note is the folded front foregrip present on the weapon - sadly this stabilising feature doesn't see any use.
In-game, damage is moderate. The B23R is capable of killing with 3 shots at a close range, meaning a single well-aimed burst to centre mass should kill.
At a longer range, you'll need up to 6 shots to kill.
Note that there is no headshot multiplier, so aiming for the head is a fruitless endeavour - and as a smaller target going for headshots may even hamper the weapon's effectiveness.
Rate of fire is very high within the burst, at 1022 rounds per minute.
This works out at a respectable 703 rounds per minute overall, as there is a short but mandatory burst delay.
Hipfire spread is good, on par with the other pistols - although to ensure maximum burst lethality it is usually best to aim your shots.
Recoil is moderate, with the weapon tending upwards - but the burst-fire mode will help to keep your accuracy in check, with the weapon settling between bursts.
The kick can spoil your chances of landing 3 hits with a single burst from a middle range out, however - and coupled with the lower damage, the B23R's effectiveness suffers greatly outside of a close range.
Aim time is very quick, at 125 milliseconds: and you'll move at 100 percent of the maximum base speed.
Magazine capacity is generally sufficient, at 15 rounds (or 5 bursts): with Extended Clip, you'll get 21 rounds (or 7 bursts) instead.
Reloads are relatively quick, at 1.63 seconds - although in a typical firefight you will want to make your first magazine count.
As a backup weapon, the Beretta works just fine without any attachments - but if you have points to spend and don't want to elect Dual Wield, then the magazine-related attachments - either Fast Mags or Extended Clip - will usually yield the biggest improvement.
The B23R is a devastating backup weapon, capable of killing very quickly at a close range with a well-aimed burst.
No other pistol can put 3 rounds into a target as quickly as the Beretta, and within its 3-hit kill range, you'll be able to outpace even most SMGs in terms of time to kill.
However, outside of a close range the B23R loses its effectiveness very quickly indeed - with low damage and moderate recoil meaning you'll need multiple bursts to kill.
With a small but significant delay between bursts, this can mean you'll be left vulnerable - so it's best to limit the Beretta to close-range engagements only.
Still, this will usually be the case when using a pistol as a backup weapon - and within this role the B23R performs very well.
While its lack of versatility might hamper its use as a surrogate primary, a mobile loadout will help to close the gap and to preserve your effectiveness.
Should an opponent pop up and surprise you, a quick switch and 3 rounds from your trusty backup...
...might just burst their bubble. - Hry
2023 and I'm still coming back to these videos. The level of professional presentation is still unrivalled IMO. These days it's all about the flashy and cringe "popular" fads.
I miss the mid 2010's of COD and gaming in general.
I often find myself re-watching these videos because they give me an edge and other games as well
Bro needs time to edge
@@alexanderegulation2581 I just edged right now
Edge
Edge? 💀
goddamn autocorrect, i'm betting
He covers videos in order of their unlock.
NerosCinema O SHIT WADDUP
Ohhh I was trying to fig that out lol
Wow before you were big on CZcams
@@sowhazupguy hi 👋
It’s funny how this gun was introduced in 2023 which is the current year lol
I do sometimes use B23R like a primary...
Userinfinty
Same. I love to dual wield these on small maps 😀
That's what I do my setup is
B23R
Extended clip
Suppressor
Perk 2 greed
Secondary gunfighter
Lightweight
Scavenger
Cold blooded
Tactical mask
1x concussion grenade
Duel wield is rubbish on this gun, it’s awesome aiming at mid range.
me, who has literally made a loadout with this as a primary: *Haha burst pistol go BRRRTT*
B23R is a great weapon but I Love my Five Seven, my friends hate when I use it
Assault shield
B23R
Fast mags
Perk 2 greed
Lightweight
Scavenger and fast hands
Tac. mask
No lethal
Concussion x2
Kieran Milward I'd take off one Concussion and put on the Combat Axe since we have Scavenger to resupply
+SN Aviate i would say
b23r w/dualfield
flakjacket, light weight
scavenger
tacmask
smokegrenade, conclusion
imagine if you could get rapid fire
Jo boss or select fire
select fire would be pointless though, the KAP-40 exists. though, rapid fire with assault shield would be a bit op, wouldn't it?
😏
I have a mod menu on zombies and multiplayer on 360 but only use zombies but I use this paped and unlimited ammo its fucking awesome
Haha B23R goes brrrrrr.
Hello from 2023, AKA the year this weapon will supposedly be created!
This gonna be an interesting year...
That transition at the end from the live game to the final kill cam was awesome
The B23R, OMG. My most favorite Pistol. Always my Pistol used to backup with my Sniper Rifles, I use Extended Mags and Tac Knife via 2ndary gunfighter
+Darian Allnutt As a backup weapon, I don't think you should spend three points on improving pistol's effectiveness. Especially because this gun is such a powerful weapon without attachments.
I usually play custom games locally. but yeah, good point :)
@@darianthescorpion1132 same. I love playing with bots
Best Pistol in Bo2 by far.... in my opinion
ZenXth CoD History*
LOL no, this thing pales in comparison to the M93R..
Jorge Corea Lol no
Armin00 Yes, in mw2 the 93R fires at 940rpm with near-zero recoil and has the capability to kill in a single burst at any range; that thing is far superior to the B23R.
Five seven better
I remember this being my go-to sidearm for sniper builds. It has the power to protect you effectively in most fights, but it was also easy to control due to its burst fire
My GOSH this thing is OP. so much rage.
4:40
Rare Call of Duty moment, folks.
no
4:40
Wait did theye kill each other or did he died from the flash gernade?
Arsen YT
they killed each other simultaneously
@@soopcanwastakenOMG XD, wish i had that moment back in bo2
I like the new effect where you go from normal and then into final kill cam. nice work
Great vid ahoy... However I feel that having fast mags/ extended mags paired with the suppressor provides you with more choices gunfight wise, be it stealth or rushing you can manoeuvre your self better within the map while duel wield limits you severely.. Btw I'm a big fan you helped me in my early days of cod, bo2 was my first ever.
You sound like CPT.Price
SKATT3R captain price confirmed.
Maybe his brother
If his balls dropped.
you need long barrel and TAC knife with light weight toughness dexterity and extreme conditioning. put an assault shield as primary but don't use it. I call that setup the OP3R class
Ha i have the SAME EXACT class but instead i use a tac 45
+Makana Amanonce nice
If you want shield power, here's a setup
Shield
Kap-40 or b23r
One attachment for the pistol(fast mag is the best for this class setup)
One concussion
One tomahawk
Flak jacket
Scavenger
Fast hands
Tactical mask
Done.
I have the same class too. First perk toughness and ghost
I only rely on this guy for my weapon classes! His voice is soo cool! He could talk about ANYTHING and make it sound boss!!
I love the end of this video where you merge the gameplay and final killcams. Very nice stu!!
turn on captions, they are almost exactly right, his voice is so clear
I love this guy. He explains everything single detail well and clearly. Keep up the amazing work and how long does it usually take you to gather all the clips and upload a video?
"might just burst their bubble." LOL I see what you did there (;
Once again Stu, excellent work. I don't even own any of the Call of Duty's anymore, I don't like playing them, yet I am still entertained by your work. Keep it up!
Robocop's gun aka Auto 9
You would make a great host for a show on the military channel
thanks for uploading these videos so regularly
That run at the end was awesome!
It's 2023 now manby we will get it irl..
This really helps me in my goal to get every pistol gold. Thanks :D
Thank you so much for this! Changed my duty career haha
Love this series btw. Keep up the great work.
2019 nostalgia anyone
@Jonathan Gorgis April fools dude
Yep now 2020
SAS3 Guides crazy man, every single time
@@kcmtmm5326 this channel can't die people will always watch quality content
I recently got my hands on Black Ops 2 and I used this pistol for the very first time when I played level 3. I absolutely loved it! My enemies went down in a single burst! And now that I know that it's a Beretta pistol, I have much more respect for it! :-) I can't wait to use this pistol more often! :-)
A great weapon, bringing back good M93R memories... with these guns I can lay waste upon groups of enemies from quite some range, despite their close-range nature.
Great show as always ty
i think i just found something interesting, u should take a look for urself. search the b23r up on google, then search up H&K mk23. it looks like the b23r is a heckler and koch mk23 mixed with a m93r. the reasons being why i think this is, the fact that the b23r looks like nothing berreta would ever make and the fact that they have almost a 100% the same structure. so its more or less just a beretta & H&K gun mixed togther from the future.
plz respond if u agree or disagree as i am not too sure, it is just a hypothesis.
u can say its an m93r inside of a slightly modified mk23 body.
You sound like captain price. just sayyyan
Thats what I thought also
Love the pun and also the last clip was pretty nice.
Your weapon guide Have help me a lot
This pistol. This goddamn pistol. I hate it with every fiber in my body.
I love it and hate it at the same time.
WiZe EPIC // EPIC4reALz For me, it's a perfect representation of how Black Ops 2's pistols are too powerful. It can easily best any SMG.
weakestlink20 this and the tac45..ugh. tac45 outguns mp7 if hit all shots in chest. i get a headshot to kill them before they kill me. like this morning i avoided three tac45 deaths with the mp7 by getting kicked up into a headshot.
weakestlink20 smgs do fire (most often but not always) the same cal. rounds as pistols
PSYCHRONIC While sustaining a much faster effective rate of fire. So why do Black Ops 2 pistols commonly beat SMGs in close quarters? Pistols usually take one less bullet to kill than SMGs while supporting good fire rates.
The B23R has absolutely nothing to do with the M93R. It's literally a direct copy of an WE's silver dragon airsoft pistol. Which is a custom model of the real steal 2011 handgun. Also, folded grip? lolwat? That's a rail, not a grip.
no you dont know what you are talking about. and that is a grip and it doesnt look like a picatinny rail at all. look at pictures of the b23r its a foregrip not a rail. please use your brain before speaking.
Yes, yes I do know what I am talking about. Literally the only similarity between this gun and the M93R is that they're both burst fire pistols. That is it and no. Look up a picture. That is absolutely not a grip, it's a rail. You can clearly see the sharp groves under it. Use your brain before speaking.
then why is there a gap bettween the grip/rail and the trigger guard? thats not normal. but there are a *few* similarites bettween the M93R and the B23R but the B23R more likley resembles a custom M1911 pistol like mentioned in the video. Or hey who knows the underbarrel thing could be a foldable mini fore-grip *AND* a picitinny type rail. oh and sorry about my spelling I know I sound stupid
Guys this could just be in the black ops universe a company that is also Italian that uses raffica as its burst pistol designation. I mean it doesn't have to be a berreta gun,
It could just be a 2011 m1911 handgun (doublestack) and/or be a modded version of that with selective fire capabilitys
one of the best puns yet stu
Stu, I know you have been working your tail off, but are done with Retro-Ahoy, you have some very very high quality work over there, I would love to see more!
Love the gun with the knife attachment using it as a speed kit running around with the knife out all the time
Stu, this was the best build you've made for the Black Ops 2 weapon Guides, maybe in the whole history of this channel. It was a very smart decision to put Dual Wield, even tough the gun is good with anything or nothing. It was the best secondary before the first patch.
Nice emblem, goes well with the weapon!.
thanks for the tips
xbox ahoy is the only one whose youtube subtitles work for
These videos are the only reason that I play Black Ops 2 anymore... just to try out the classes for each weapon he does a guide for.
I love how he makes his emblem the logo of the company which makes the gun he is reviewing.
Dang, that class suggestion was almost identical to what I used to use before the B23R Dual nerf, except that I used Hardline to score some more scorestreaks instead of Flak Jacket, relying on the speed to dodge explosions instead. Naturally, that class was not as good capping objectives, but instead it served better keeping enemies off them.
Finally we're going to have the FAL OSW weapon guide ! Really looking forward to it!
i never had so much fun using a pistol in COD games. B23R is just amazing
your vids are amazing !
Nice touch with the Berretta logo.
Good tips.
Now the B23R was one of those guns I enjoyed, though I rarely used it. Usually at pickups, and occasionally in a class, this gun proved useful in the few battles that I used them in.
Stu, you are the only one in the world that can pull off the part rock camo
Hey Stu, I'm not sure how many people picked up on it, but I for one loved the clever use of the Italian flag calling card for and Italian weapon. Your subtle puns and references never cease to amaze me.
Awsome vid!
Stu, this is not a question, but i just want to say, that you are my favorite youtuber. Ill come home after work and just watch your videos. Thnx and keep up the good work
Great video
you are a master in BO II man congrat for your series
Loved the pun!
Right on. I couldn't agree more
Stu, will ever make a set up video? Where you show us your all of you recording equipment and the rest of your work area.
Reflex Sight for sure and either with a Silencer or the Long Barrel, after that it takes patience to get those head shots. It's the after head shot challenges you got to worry bout soon.
the b23r is a b2 pistol (as created in the future) but it is a 3 round burst, and thus comes the 3r at the end. This is just like the m93 raficca, it was the m9-3 round burst
Best pun so far Stu!
It's very good like all your videos
I feel like the Executioner is the best with dual wield. It makes you reload them like they have quick loaders and you get 10 shots to tear faces off.
This this great if used with long barrel and extended clip. Favorite side arm with the SWAT 556.
High quality pun Stu!
Sick emblem. Have you ever used tutorials, or do you make them on your own ? Excellent vid.
LOVE THE BERETTA EMBLEM
For me personally I always rocked it with extended mags and the long barrel to give me a little more reach out to mid range
Nice pun this week Stu!
Really good pun today!!! :)
god I love the end punch lines
I love this pistol same with the tac 45 and kap 40
one of my fav side arms
My favorite pistol along with the TAC-45. I use this in my S&D class
Nice video
B23r is my favourite pistol
Very nicely done Beretta symbol.
Can't wait for Xboxahoy's AN-94 weapon guide loved that AR since BFBC1 to BF3 (i know it's not That way but it's in BF3 c'mon what can you hope more for?)
Dat Bacon on B23R looks too damn good.
For a backup, I usually take either this or the tac-45. Love both of those guns. (except i take the five-seven as a backup for shotguns because of the longer range :P)
He covered that topic in one of his bonus videos on his second channel. I believe it was in the Vector episode.
the B23R is really effective in hardcore as one burst kill especially with long barrel
Hey Stu! You always do wonderful an useful videos!
If I choose a class with the Riot Shield and Crossbow with the dual band scope what perks should I use?
Thanks a lot!
'Burst their bubble'.... worth waiting for!
My only changes I would suggest are a laser sight because It's comes in handy a lot and the B23R actually is decent at mid range so aiming is useful. And also, drop lightweight for blind eye. You're already extremely light so it doesn't matter and the safety of knowing those pesky choppers and such can't hurt you is invaluable.
Love this pistol
Have you ever thought about doing a stat guide for zombies, with the impacts of perks and general zombie information?
It makes a BRAP BRAP sound when you fire it ^^
i like how he says that headshots hamper its power but everyone goes for headshots for camos
You should throw down a montage of all your episodes and the epic streaks you get. You have some nice feeds while showing off all these weapons. Just saying, great video as always.
cool guide
