I doubt that (s)he will risk revealing his/her true identity by speaking in a video. Consider for a moment the fact that the standard taper glassware kit suitable for use in doing distillations and reactions has become very risky and difficult to obtain by any method other than theft or diversion from a friendly source. We can take this as further evidence of the creeping police state we are caught in. The aim of the system is to produce a disarmed and dumbed-down populace, a goal which is being achieved to an alarming degree. The very thought that home chemical experimentation might have some purpose other than drug manufacture has been banished from the general consciousness.

You distilled toluene, you didn`t make it. Maybe just change the discription. I usually wash it to get out most of the more water soluble, fractionate it, then remove water with a Dean Stark trap. Do a nitro reduction with sodium dithionite whit ratios. Don`t think it`s been done other then by Chemplayer in a series of micro scale reduction trails where dithionite came out as clearly best with a 30 min reflux and no steam distillation of end product, only vacuum filtration. I think he could have done a better work up, but it wasn`t really the meaning of the video. Simple distillation and drying with CaCl2 would probably have done much.
