Bro, Nas gave him half the song and a beat change… on his own album!
talk about RESPECT!
And the last verse nuff said!
I remember Busta said Em does the mixing when he's on a song. Nas is the man for doing that bruh👌🏾
Facts
just seeing nas and his gang rocking out to em is all we need
he came in hard too
Doesn't Em always take half the song n then some on any feature anyway . And let's not pretend that Em needs to be a feature on any1s track or that Any1 wouldn't give anything to get Em on their track. Its ups their exposure, fanbase and sales
It's not Em vs Nas. It's Nas, EPMD and Em. Mad respect for Nas for letting Em do his thing.
Nas was washed😂
@@whoistafari Uh no. Nas gave Em like 48 bars and 2 minutes straight while he cut up his verse to let EPMD shine. This ain't renegade buddy- he was showing respect.
@@DaffyDuck007 Renegade was best song ever
@@DaffyDuck007 i get that, definitely agree and I see what he was doin.
But.. And I hate to say it, because I love Nas. But this sort of felt like a cop out.. Everybody knows how much Em's been killing it lately, and it felt like Nas didn't even wanna try to keep up with him. Knowing everyone was gonna compare their verses.
It just doesn't sound like an Em feature type of verse, like he's rapping as if Em wasn't gonna be on this track.
Kinda weird, to be honest. He definitely did it on purpose. But he definitely didn't put that verse together thinking it was gonna fuck with Em's.
@@whoistafari no he didn’t em did his thing but naw showed mad respect
nas GAVE him the room to shine, and THAT is the most humble thing i've witnessed in HIPHOP ever. NAS is so real that he understood what everyone wants to hear from EM and HE MADE IT HAPPEN! EM right now is just out of this world and nas gave him his flowers, following what he said in the beginning. understand how true it is to say something and then follow up on it. these two are just what HIPHOP needs, true masters.
Yeah to add on to your good point nas at this stage of his career is trying to get hip hop back in the right place and knows em can take it there. Old school nas could keep up and make it close in a bar for bar battle but he wasn't on this track with em to do that. This was all about giving others their flowers including each other why else give em half the song knowing full damn well he would make it is own with that much time.
Nah
I agree.. Like what tech did for em on speedom pretty much.
@@thewonderweapon6394 exactly! And I feel like Nas point of this track was to show case the old best (epmd) with the current best (em) with himself being the bridge between them. Dope ass song!
@@crackazack510 . Good observation.
Em said: “A pocket full of pills… so some are E which reminds me of *rap summary* … always use to play that shit on repeat all day, so please call me "Big Daddy", plus I got the *cane* and *lean on me* ”
This line/bar is a TRIPLE ENTENDRE:
• Big Daddy Kane has a song called “Rap Summary (Lean On Me).
• When an old person walks with a cane, he/she has sort of a lean/slouch to his/her walk.
• “cane” and “lean” as in the drugs, cocaine and lean
Em is not human 🤯🔥
forgot candy cane because he was doing a christmas scheme before right before that
I don't even understand how the human mind can put that together, but then to make it rhyme and rap it with the kind of cadence he raps with it? It's almost superhuman
Nas set up Em with this verse. This didn't seem like a competition as much as two legends trying to bring back Hip Hop
exactly!
It's only the fans (Stans mostly) that try to make it a competition. Why can't they just enjoy the song?
Agree 100 percent
@@2apocalypsex Well stans can apply to any artists, and hip hop is naturally competitive. So obviously it's going to happen.
@@2apocalypsex that's where you're wrong. It's the opposite. It's always the haters starting the argument and when someone tries to defend the white boy, they automatically becomes stan
When em says “are you ready” right at the beginning, he’s talking to all you reactors 🦾🦾🦾🦾
This hits different😂
Facts 😂😂😂Stevie be going crazy
Absolutely agree. And im here for it man.
For sure
My analysis, he is just talking to his audience including fans and other listeners. He knows he raps at a high level so he is telling everyone to pay attention. 🤘
Eminem’s rapping skills & cadence is second to none.
Slick Rick is king of cadence respectfully

Plus ya catch the adlib
I literally listened to that song like yesterday before this dropped..
pretty sure there are a few more song references in it
YOU GOTS* TO CHILL
Facts but was I overthinking did he give a shout out to the Milwaukee bucks with the deer
Eminem told us clues on his side B album
" So until the E. N. D

I've been giving you the business
D. R. E and me
From M. M. L. P to M. T. B. M. B
today it's 20 20

Damnnn good pickup
I don’t think its a clue
I think its what made Nas contact with Em and do a collab

I stock those shelves, I got more shells like Taco Bell and I'm not gon' fail
I got no L's (Noels) like Christmas, you don't wanna make the claws (Claus) come out (Nah)
You think that's a clue for a winter drop?
He didn’t say “I got no elves like Christmas “. He said “I got noels as in No L’s” bars
No bro, me and him are homies, he shouted me out In this song
SK mentioned that, Xmas/losses ... hello ? ?
@Audio and whips Noel means Christmas...I think in French
It's a scheme.
No L's = losses
Noel = Chistmas
No L's = the word has no L's
It's lyrical as hell. But I think Em cares more about lyrical technicalities than making sonically pleasing versus.
@Audio and whips it's Noel you dummy lol.
The bucks flying bar is a quadruple entendre. Bucks (money), bucks (deer), buckshots, and Milwaukee bucks just won the finals so he shouted them out because right after he says “I don’t got no green on me” you can tie that in with bucks
Those cadence...👀
Hip hop is alive
Regardless of who won we can all agree it was a great song!!
I can’t and won’t rank this cause this enough is legendary and jus Amazing I’m hear for both of my favorites cause you don’t see much people reacting to NAS

Eminem always does something on a feature that's a jaw dropper, whether it's wordplay, rhyme schemes or flow and delivery, usually all of the above. On this one it was the wordplay and that rhyme scheme towards the end, relentless rhymes and shoutouts. Awesome song, been waiting for this since 1999. 👌🏻
Also I just saw hailie birthday is December 25th.
That's why he always raps about Christmas
Eminem usually does what is contextually appropriate in Hip Hop Cultural terms
I'm hardly ever Impressed by his wordplay. But his schemes, flow and delivery is always on point.
@@radarinfinite1032 you do realize that “hardly ever impressed by his wordplay” means “I’m not that bright and I don’t get it” in this context? It’s like all those Royce Stans thinking Lupe is like him because they don’t understand Lupe actually says smart shit and Royce just says shit that sounds smart. Like most great MCs are smarter than most people…why would you assume Eminem’s wordplay is lacking as a better hypothesis than the bell curve says my IQ is most likely near 100 and eminem is obviously an outlier I probably am not understanding him?
