@Jalazel shady records did well in early 2000 then paul realized that em alone is much more profitable then adding other acts. Em wants to help artists but he likes underground lyricist. We all know lyricists rarely become mainstream acts as their sound is not necessarily accessible to the masses. Of course j cole Kendrick and a few others made it but they are an exception not a rule.
@Jalazel really paul is picking lyricist and want to turn them into mainstream artists? That sounds like some dum move. If feels like em picks artists the way these guys rhyme and no way paul choose them. Back in the day em was involved he used to be executive producer for obie d12 and made beats. But he got a lot of hate for messing with slaughterhouse sound so he is staying away. Do you think grip and boogie are better off without shady. Yes tde and dreamville are doing better but it still far from the success mainstream labels. I like ab-soul his pengame is really extraordinary but he's nowhere near mainstream success. Grip has doubled his following so it's a useful push maybe moving elsewhere will make him bigger but this put him on the radar.

Maybe tde don't want boogie he is from their area and he's been bringing hard for 7 years and they didn't check on him. Em was a problem for slaughterhouse as they blamed their failure on em. They thought that they were going to be huge where as their music is for an acquire taste and by changing their sound they put off their original fans. Glass house album was made without emintervening but some folks were mad amd it lead to nothing. thats not on shady it's on the crew dynamic. Unlike tde these guys weren't friends from the get go music brought them together when they were all established rappers. Egos and financial issues get in the way sometimes. Artists need to stop thinking that a cosign and a few pointers make you pop. Grip and boogie are legit and they have a specific sound so their core fanbase will grow and stick by them as long as they stay true to this way
