@@GreatestHITS26 doesn’t seem like it....
🤣
This is actually true, he talks about in some old interviews and in his book I think
This interview showed how amazing an interview can be if the interviewer actually knows what he’s talking about and even is a fan of the artist.
Exactly and let’s Eminem talk without interrupting until he is done with his thought.
And gives the person space to answer instead of interrupting every 5 seconds like some people (jimmy fallon) or pushing for some preconceived narrative.
Yes! And not interrupting or being disrespectful.
Sway is also a world class interviewer, which helps as well.
It's just like Em and Sway are just having a normal conversation, and not an interview. I mean they are close friends, so it's probably why it seems that way.
Love this part when Em said:
"Hip Hop was the most important thing that empowered me as a kid. It made me feel tough when I wasn't. When I was a scrawny little kid, growing up on 8-mile, walkin up the f***in block, put headphones on and it made me feel powerful. HipHop probably was... It was like my dad, it was the only thing that made me empowered, made me feel good about myself. And when I started being able to write rhymes, and figured I could do it, that's where the feeling comes from to me. Because the excitement, is being able to come up with this shit. It taught me how to throw my first punch. It gave me the confidence to be able to throw my first punch."
so much respect for this man.
I felt like that listening to triumph by Wu walking to school at 13. It helped me put a shield around me against negatives around me.
You can hear it with the anger in his tracks. The only other rapper that gives me the same rage/anger emotion is tech ne9n, Tupac and Busta.
@@amadeusakreveusmusic3356do you know Onyx? I didn't until I noticed him say "why dont i blast a little something like Onyx to put me in the mood to fight..." so I go listen and instantly hear where he draws that aggressive/yelling delivery he is so good at. Onyx is dope and I believe one of Eminems biggest influences.
Well said.
Proof he said he can't fight
The fact that he opens the interview asking for an autograph... love this dude
Caught Sway of guard. Well played.

I love Eminem's songs but watching his interviews just makes it better. He's genuine and he's real.

Little did Eminem know that he would destroy MGK so much that he switches genres
I'm a bigger fan of eminem then mgk, but fans like you are out of pocket. It's called versatility lol. He has had a good rap album and top trending rap songs during quarantine while simultaneously doing his rock music
@@yvngbullet I liked a few mgk songs but he behaves like a child he is too out of pocket, he send shots at Em for thinking he manipulated his career while Em didn’t even thought about him, and then lies in interviews, he cry on Twitter saying Em is sending sublims while the bars in gnat are obviously shots at him but not sublims he is an hypocrite
MgK has been doing two genres way before the Em beef, Not vouching for the guy but I'm guessing you only heard of MgK cause of the rap beef.
@@yvngbullet THIS ⬆️ being able to write, sing, play Instruments, record and SELL Music in more than one genre is a BAD thing??? I am glad to see someone finally point out being versatile is not a weakness & just cuz Eminem has loads of commercial mainstream fame doesn't give him more talent. Stop hating on the drummer/guitar player/punk-pop rock Singer/Big movie actor.... Because he can do More than just rap? Cmon really? He was on MTV like 12 years ago. But now he's a loser cuz he can sing & play a guitar? Nope. Just no lol. I will laugh for a week if he drops a rap album next- While he is so commercially successful right now. Between Corpse + Megan & Blackbear & SNL + Billboard Awards + ... he is pretty well known so whatever his next drop is will get a listen just because... So,, what if people love it ? What if it's good? Haters gotta hate... having success in 2+ genres Don't make you a loser haha. Kinda works the opposite. Like how's Eminem's acting carreer going? Singing career? His success as a musician? (You know, those people who can play musical instruments? )How are Eminems sales in those genres? No one says that! Cuz not everyone needs to spread hate. Most recognize cross genre success as rather impressive & fairly uncommon & it irritates me they get away with twisting it into an apparent weakness grr. I'm glad someone finally called it out. Like Mgk or dont like him, being versatile is never a bad thing.

I just wanna say the song Beautiful saved my life in high school. I hit a socially awkward/depressed phase where I felt like I didn’t belong. The only time I was comfortable was by myself, completely alone. I’d hide in the bathroom at school, stay in my room at home, or was with one of 3 people not including family. " There's something inside me thats a little more happy when I'm angry" ...I feel this is at the core of the artist's struggle because strong emotions, like anger and sadness, make it easy to produce good music. If you follow an artist long enough you'll find a pattern of them making "bad music" when they're at their happiest. It is what it is...🤷♀️
This is very true in my own experiences during the years of my life where I did nothing but work and play in death metal bands. I did 6 months in county for a Marijuana dui and didn't have a drum set. I needed to do something musical to keep my spirits up and stay out of the politics so I just started writing songs. Being in the hole for 2 months for fighting was where i was the most creative I ever was and where the ideas and words just came out of me when I put pencil to paper. It just happened to be the time in my life where I felt the most anger and alone. When I got home and writing turned into a hobby and I was generally very happy again it started hitting me. "Oh this is why my favorite musicians produced IMO their best stuff when they were depressed, angry, addicted, heart broken, etc." It almost seems like a paradox however I do really believe pain breeds creativity in a way other emotional states just can't.
No,for ne its just bring pure......be pure....good ore evil.....and these feelings are honest and only real 1s can tell
Its part of depression too....i Main dagame, milleu and husstle.....i live help people, i cry,i also, i lpugh....inside is something what is happy....when i SUFFER.....no idea why
I feel for him man, the expectations that come along with his name. Also mainstream listeners just don’t appreciate his lyrics, and the amount of time he puts in to his craft. I hope he knows it’s appreciated!

I’ve followed Em through his career, sobriety, and seeing him as a respected OG in hip hop is something I’ll always smile about. Kids today have no idea how he influential he really was and when I hear kids talk negatively I implore them to just do some research.
Em you’re loved and have a crazy loyal fan base.
Same here! My mom
Raised on Eminem since I was like 7 years old.
Eminem is genius. The way he dropped Kamikaze and MTBMB without any press or promotion - and the fact he has enough power and presence to do that. He's figured out a way to avoid the insane unfair backlash his work gets from critics and "fans" even before the work is released. Man's a legend.
The fact that em acknowledged MGK had some good lines in the rap devil track when he could’ve trashed it... he respects good lyrics even if he wants to destroy you in a rap battle
🤔🤔 you're not the REAL Slick Rick are you?! Smart dude, never changed for anyone and always kept it real. Been a fan since the 90's.
People don’t seem to realize that he is THE MOST LOYAL person ever. All he ever asks for is the same in return. When people can’t do that & step out of line, he is forced to give them what they deserve. Loyalty is everything. His true fans know this which is why we have been here since day one & will be here til HE decides he is done.
Yea he always been really loyal to Dre his team and everybody who helped him. It’s also a great show of respect when he talks about how he has a lot of respect for drake.

Daryl Seldon ; BEING THRU SOBERNESS MYSELF TO YOUR COMMENT THE REASON EMINEM looked like that when he 1st hit sobriety is because when you are first sober your still not mentally or physically in the normal sense of clearness, all of your emotions are now out front like a sound board everything from paranoia to feelings are uncontrollably turned up all at the same time making it hard very to equalize them in composer such as an interview it talked months up to a year to get back to control of those sobriety emotions both physically and mentally. Now that times gone by he does have his control which is Great In all absolute.
I’m glad he’s clean. That’s the best.
11 years later, he's just as confident as ever :) 11 years of sobriety as he said in Zeus :) Congrats to him by the way, being 11 years sober must have been a hard journey, and especially during the early years of his sobriety as well.
If you’re talking about like when he did Berzerk and on ESPN did that blank stare face, that’s the Berzerk face. It’s inspired by Ad Rocks face from the Pass The Mic video. If you’re not talking about that, then yeah that’s sometimes what people look like after getting sober. You’re refiguring out literally everything. When I got sober I forgot how to make a bowl of cereal. That’s not a joke. I walked into the kitchen to make a bowl of cereal and couldn’t remember how. Loving every minute of it!
"So I'm not going to see you at the Grammy's"
Em: "why so you can sit me here next to britney spears... Christina Aguilera better switch me chairs"
So I can sit next to carson daily and Fred durst and hear them argue over who she gave head to first.little#$@ch put me on blast on MTV
He's cute but I think he's married to Kim. Hehe.
I should download a .......
On mp3. And show the whole world how you gave eminem VD.
That song is a time capsule
Eminem is introspective af. Such an interesting person and obviously a genius rapper.
@aaa troll😭
the bo burnham of the rap world even though shi..
You can't be that good at any craft without some serious knowledge about yourself
One Mans determination to declare to the world “ I am what I am,but more than likely ,definitely ,not what you think I am ! EMINEM =EVERY MANS INSPIRATIONS NEEDS EXTRA MOTIVATIONS. YOU HAVE TO MAKE WAR TO FIND PEACE AND EVEN IF YOU DIDN’T START IT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO FINISH IT. …………MIKE DROP
@sean albee that sounds sexual
Im obsessed with this interview
5 years passed by fast, I just noticed it’s been 5 years since Kamikaze dropped. Shits crazy
If anyone’s reading this the best line of this entire interview is 22:20 when Em was hesitating on how he was gonna respond and then 2 days later he drops a diss album and murdered MGK.
It was probably Eminem fighting with Slim Shady in his head there
I will be 73 in November and i still listen to Em. I just had an MRI and the lady ask me what music you want to hear and I said Emenim and she said ok like wow I made me happy
Eminem** but thats awesome! I love that!!
I'm 62 and yes that's all I play ,I love him.
Do you mama
And I a. 71 and also enjoy his anger channeled. Read the latest bio ...impressed
I’m only 15 and ever since I was a child my dad would blast Eminem I’m the car and ask me if I knew what any of them meant and I would sit there like “it’s just songs..” but I as I grew up I understood how godly of a story teller Eminem really is and I got invested in understand the meanings behind these amazing songs.
huge fan of eminem. thanks for this interview
I love him as a person and how down to earth he seems to be ❤
Hopefully he start doing more interviews, would love to see him on drink champs
On few occasions they kind of were dissing him, Em should stay away. He doesn't deserve anybody putting him down and doesn't need it or them.
@@aleksandrachmielnicki7007 oh ok I didn’t know that 🥴
Having read two “biographies” of him, this guy, this Eminem, is the guy that needs to write a book. This guy, being real and talking about real stuff is way more interesting than the celebrity persona.
I know! I also think he would be a great motivational speaker
He did. I own it lol. He should do another though real talk
He wrote a book called the way I am an they're was another called angry blonde i believe
i couldnt agree with you more and you know he UTTERLY has the ability to write a book captivatingly
@@jonmccracken8625 did he himself write both of them?
I don’t think there’s enough ads on this vid.. we need more. Holy shit.
So I just paused this 10 minutes in just to scroll through the comments and see if anyone else thought this too. I want to watch it so bad. But I'll be damned at the ads every 29 seconds 😬
For reallll
Yeah lol
@@torijudkins9738 theres only 1 ad every 8 minutes
Am I the only dude that uses AdBlock?
I love and respect this man!! He is so real and raw! ❤❤❤
Sway is such a good interviewer he lets the person speak doesn’t interrupt with too many questions, and he just freestyles that he doesn’t have cards to read off of to see what questions to ask. He just sits down with a person like their friends talking to each other on a couch.
When Em talks about how that feeling of anger gives him a little bit of joy from it, that's why I connected with his music. 20 years ago as a kid. I was angry I didn't have the perfect home or the foundation to make something of myself. I was just an angry kid with no answers and no ambition or idols. Through Eminem's music I found drive and a reason to turn the tables on my situation. Guts over fear, weakness's to strengths and freedom to help others find a similar path. He is an artist and he has helped me paint my life.
Love this and I relate to some of it.
So, would you say you had, "so much anger aimed in no particular direction"?
Damn man that last sentence was beautiful
Damn sameee. Fr
I heard him say that too...and I felt it. We all have the power to create a beautiful life...even if surrounded by undesirable situations. Finding the light in the darkness...it's awesome.
Wish he did more interviews.
i agree, but lets face it he's got kids and has a life the man deserves his private time.
It's not really his vibe, because he's not the most active on social media, and even in his early years, he stated that he doesn't want the fame and money (even though we know he has all that), but he just wanted to do this for improving the craft. But when he does go on interviews, it gives me life :) Plus, hearing him talk and sounding really intelligent when people think he's not is relieving :)
His circle is super small, he doesn't like crowds, and only really talks in a one on one situation. Other people around and he's super quiet. #TrustMeWhenISay
I love the way this ManTalks Eminem you are so amazing no doubt in my mind this interview shows just how smart you are. Thank you.
I hope he writes book or does documentary about his life so we can get more of his life and emotions behind his raps....
I love this man so much. He single handedly saved me… more than once. And I know there’s millions just like me. Forever grateful for Eminem.
Definitely helped me detox. 🙂
Me too. Em's album called 'Music to be murdered by - Deluxe with b-sides' or whatever the actual name is. Sparked the healing I needed with the experiences I had as a child. Life changing, and life saving. A true gift to the world. Thank you Eminem for all you have experienced, and all you have done for the world.
@@BaxterZonewtf how old are u Lmaooooo
@@sswaaayzeeee3786 significantly older than you, I’m sure. What difference would it make anyway?
@@BaxterZone I’m 29 stfu ong u don’t know what ur talking about
There's no ads on this video. The ads are too scared to get dissed by Em
When I clicked on I was like "Jesus! How many ads do they need on one video" but I never even got one lol
That was corny as fuck
Cringe.
@@anokacity like ur uncle playing with u

Great interview!!! 💯💯💯💯
Your music is my therapy too Em!!! Im not typically one who likes to watch sit down interviews likes this, but I Loved this interview!
You don't go after the man's daughter. Simple as.
that's just common sense.
@@Sound_Spark Something MGK apparently doesn’t have
@@Sound_Spark I think she was 16 at the time. Pretty messed up

eminem "If if ever need a ghost writer, i better just put the Fu**in mic down"
Now thats some deep S**t
It’s spelled fucking and shit btw
I like his creativity in his music, he’s amazing rapper, he deserves this 😊❤️ thanks for interview, it was interesting 😘🙏❤️
I remember when i got shot and had to learn to walk again it was songs like till I collapse, sing for the moment, fight music ect. They motivated me and got me through a very dark time in my life.
Thanks em
i just want to know his skin care routine- Em’s skin is so clear tf.
Its cause he has no lungs broette

He has three daughters and they are either in their teenage years or higher, wouldn't be surprised if they helped him on that
This is the 4th time I see this interview and man Em is so on point with every single word he is saying. I can listen to him talk all day long. I don't care about all the haters, Em is the God.
I enjoy listening to him being the fact he takes the music seriously he's passionate about hip hop an he's incredible at it it's on his blood
mine too man
Rap God
What haters?
@@JohnSmith-pg9ns agreed he is a rap God
In 31 years, I’ve searched and wondered. If anyone was like me in that , in anger. There is something I like. Eminem has been a big part of my life, felt like someone I could truly relate to. You’re the Goat forever bro 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
