  • I decided to give the Pelagos 39 a proper go on the rubber strap and this video documents what I thought of it.

    I checked and can confirm 79 grams on the dot with the rubber strap. Great review and I agree with all statements. Offering an additional opinion after having worn it for over a year now. Yachtmaster is amazing but this watch is more enjoyable because you can wear it without worrying. The rubber strap makes it stand out from other divers because of integrated end links and rubber makes more sense for carefree use, and is more comfortable. With the titanium strap, it gets lost in the crowd. Once rubber is broken into, you forget it is on until you look at it and it is a gorgeous thing. I honestly prefer this watch over any other diver. I am treating myself to something I love to wear. Special every time I wear it. Also did not have to choose between buying a motorcycle or a watch ;) if sticking to a budget.

      It is superb I just wish the T-fit clasp would work on it as they have now done with newer Tudor rubber strap releases.

    Agree on the quick release on these watches. It seems no one at these brands actually wear watches…. See GS re their bracelets or others on the lack of micro adjustment etc etc. I’ve been gifted a micro brand and it has a quick release bracelet and strap and it’s a joy. Less than 30 second strap changes no stress no damage and end links are tight! Just rest it on the back side of the lugs and it drops in.

    I am on day 1 with the rubber so wish me luck. Im enjoying the sleeper look and the potential versatility.

      I loved it on the rubber. If it had the T-fit on the rubber it would have stayed on it.

    Bought the 39 on a bracelet which was great. Tried out the black rubber for a few months and was great. Bought a red zealande bespoke strap and used the spare buckle from the divers extension and it is now on for good. Looks and feels amazing. Now rotate with a BB monochrome on a rubber/deployant, bluesy on a bicolour, blue pelagos 42 on the titanium bracelet, Tudor gmt on steel bracelet and a blue 58 on a blue leather/deployant. All similar as I love the style but all very different.

      Forgot to add.... I find the strap on the 39 is a bit of a pig to swap over. Agree it really does need a quick release

    Couldn’t agree more on the quick change feature, or better yet drilled lugs. I scratched mine pretty good being a ham fisted moron. Thankfully it’s my daily, and a definite keeper, so the pain has lost its sting overtime.

    For me a rubber strap on a high end watch needs to be on a deployment.

    • @wheelsandwatches

      I’ll be the Devil’s advocate: while I can appreciate a butterfly clasp on a dress watch, I wouldn’t want it for my diver.

    • @wheelsandwatches
      @wheelsandwatches  Před 7 měsíci +2

      @RabbitWatchShop agree I wouldn’t want a butterfly clasp on the 39 but would want the clasp off the bracelet on it.

    My pelagos LHD has never been on the rubber strap provided. Most of my watches are on various Natos though.

      Give it a go. It’s a nice look. I would keep mine on it if you could use the deployant clasp off the bracelet.

      @@wheelsandwatchesI may do I recently bought a 20mm artem loopless for my other watches which I'm really liking so I was considering getting a 22mm one for my LHD. I'm with you on the quick release which is why I favoured NATO previously. QR should be stranded on many bracelets and straps no excuse .

    What about the BB54 rubber strap with TUDOR “T-fit” clasp? has anyone tried that one on the P39?

  • @chuckcharles5963
    @chuckcharles5963 Před 7 měsíci +2

    I am glad you enjoy the strap but I think it’s laughable how Rolex kicks Tudor in the knee here. Thy could have easily made the trap to fit the T-Fit clasp and have a way better watch, maybe even better than the submariner. It would have been better counterweighted, be more precisely adjustable and be an overall cleaner look. It almost feels like Porsche not building a Boxter with a proper engine.
    I am wearing a 116610ln with custom endlinks and a Replica oysterflex that I got for 80 Bucks. Honestly it’s amazing. For the price Tudor wants for this thing it’s laughable what strap they delivered. I cannot imagine why Tudor can’t get the Rolex tech with the Nitinol band and the baffles. It would be so much better.

    • @wheelsandwatches
      @wheelsandwatches  Před 7 měsíci

      Don’t disagree at all. They did it on the 54 but the clasp is not interchangeable with the bracelet which has its own unify clasp. Stupid! As you say it’s done on purpose. Imagine the Pelagos 39 with an interchangeable T-fit claps and quick release straps.Wouldn’t help the sub at all.

      They are very different watches and you could easily own both. I had the blue and original 58 and personally much prefer the 39 in all regards. More modern styling, comfort due to the t-fit clasp etc
