    Nice to see an interesting and different watch tube review. I agree with your choice. I have a B&J nato and it’s lovely to wear. Luckily as a I live in the UK it only cost me £25 quid!

    Many of us can't decide about nato straps, so this is great content.
    1) Your Tudor looks great with no matter what nato strap you put it on .
    2) I would never spend $65 on one strap and instead I would get bunch of $5 ones in different colors but that's me.
    3) I understand buying very soft strap because some peoples skin is more delicate than others.

    • @TimeBaum
      @TimeBaum  Před 2 měsíci +3

      I agree $65 is very expensive, I was honestly impressed with the $5 CNS straps myself

  • @rodg2335

    Unfortunately your review is flawed. All straps should have been the same style material. CNS also has seat belt style like the B&J which is also very soft. The buckle on the B&J is also nearly identical to some other CNS models. Another sell, Haveston has seat belt material straps are outstanding for about $30. The best value in Natos is CNS hands down.

    I have owned over 50 watches and literally countless NATO straps over the years ranging from £5 to over £100 - and I can honestly tell you that they’re all very much of a muchness - and probably all made in China - the quality isn’t notably different at any price point - except, perhaps, an original Omega NATO strap at around £200 - the quality of the hardware is the most important factor when choosing a NATO strap - if you’re in a budget and want a NATO strap look at original Timex straps - very comfortable and decently made at around £25 - if you want better comfort and wearability choose a single pass NATO

      All my straps comes from AliExpress and all of them resembles the branded ones that goes for several times the average $4 i paid for each. It's fair that non-chinese made have to be more expensive, but too much is a nonsense against the principle.

    Try the original Tudor Nato! It's amazing. The spring bars are secured without adding a second bulky layer of nato, because it is woven with slots for the spring bars inside. They are made by a artisanal weaver in france called "Julien Faure" founded in 1864. Really amazing stuff, but of course much much more expensive.

    Wouls have been nice to have measured the thickness of each with a vernier caliper. I like heavier bodied straps myself which will differ by personal preference. My favorite NATO straps are Daluca, at $30-$35 they are very well made and still look new after a year of wear with no fraying at the buckle piercings or anywhere else. After my first purchase had been on my wrist for a few month I went ahead and purchased several other colors in both 20mm and 22mm for different watches. They dress up a Casio MDV-106 nicely and take them to another level. I’m going to try one on my Oceanus next. Thanks for the review, I may try one of those CNS $5 models and I’m not a fan of second strap loops that are not fixed in place so I’ll skip the Artem that I was considering.

    I bought a ribbed a few months ago. At first, it seems stiff rough and crappy. After a week or so it "breaks in" softens and forms to your wrist shape/size. Excellent 👍👍

    I have about 20 NATO straps in all sorts of colour combinations, mostof them bought off ali express for a few dollars.
    To be honest, they are great qaulity for the price, but I did treat myself to the grey and blue Omega NATO for my seamaster.
    It cost me around 180 dollars which is ridiculous for a piece of nylon, but it is great qaulity 😁

      same here. Splurged for the Omega one, then went the ALiExpress route and even if they show signs of wear after some time, I switch them out for a newer one. I go for those that look better, and now I can almost tell the quality by the photo :)

  • @CoolWatchesOnly
    @CoolWatchesOnly Před měsícem +1

    You know, maybe when they're new, there ain't much difference, but the quality one lasts way longer. My priciest one set me back around 20 bucks, and it still keeps its color like it's fresh outta the box. Even after all the hours spent in the sun, bleach, and washing machine, it looks minty fresh compared to those cheaper ones that barely got any wear. But hey, for 20 bucks, you can get a whole bunch of the cheap ones, so it's kinda like a trade-off.

  • @TheChuckism1
    @TheChuckism1 Před 2 měsíci +1

    NATO straps are great for what they were initially intended. But most will purchase for reasons of style. If you sweat a lot , especially when living in a hot climate, the strap will stain, then in a day or so, start smelling like an old rank sock. Then you need to keep washing it and trying to get the stains out ( they never come out no matter what stain remover people swear by). A good video but no-one seems to address this. Oh, and the initial texture/feel of the strap will disappear quickly after attempts to clean it. Probably better suited when on my old beater/ work watch. I'll not entertain buying another, which is a shame because they look good. Too much maintenance for what they are.

    • @TimeBaum
      @TimeBaum  Před 2 měsíci

      That is definitely a downside to NATOs. Personally I constantly switch my straps out and clean them but others may not

  • @michaelhanzal

    I’ve had mixed experiences with CNS. Several of the straps I’ve ordered from them have defects I.e straps don’t fit the lugs well, poor stitching etc. I don’t buy from them anymore. Found some really nice seatbelt NATOs ( similar to the B and J ones shown here) that are super soft with great hardware and cost like three bucks a piece.

    i noticed all my cheap 10 unders have badly burned end stitches so i have to snip and burn them again so it doesn’t scratch my skin. more expensive ones don’t have this problem. also recommend Bertucci.

    I like Bark & Jack. Got like 3 of them. But... coming from the UK it's heavily taxed. UK leaving the EU is pretty much forcing me to stop buying from them. They slap on 21% VAT plus expenses. And those import costs are steep!! Sorry Adrian, why don't you ship from Europe?
