Sad how stunt people are still somehow underappreciated in the industry so it was quite breath of fresh air to see a wonderful fun movie dedicated to the stunt people and the world that they live in. I still don't see why the Oscars should wait so long to add a "Best Stunt" category to their award show
Remember when that chick lost her arm to play in that awful Resident Evil movie and after it made money she still didn't get compensated?
And they did a whole tribute to stunts at this year’s Oscars and I’m like, “Cool, but are you guys going to do a category?”

Ryan Gosling’s character in the movie Drive (2011) was also a stunt driver. Such an underrated movie because most were expecting a Fast and furious heavily focused on driving, but it was more dark with Gosling being a near silent anti hero.
Literally right after Martin made that Ryan gosling is a less try hard Ryan Reynolds comment , I got an ad for MINT mobile 😂😂
I can not stand Ryan Reynolds. Not once has he ever made me laugh and not once has he ever performed a good role. When that Mint Mobile ad pops up I literally lose my mind.

It's great that Ryan Gosling hasn't had a miss with comedic roles. With Crazy Stupid Love, the underrated The Nice Guys, Barbie, and now The Fall Guy, this man can literally do anything with such a perfect charisma and chemistry with the cast members 🙌

A stuntwoman dies in a motorcycle accident during a Deadpool movie and she didn’t get any special acknowledgement after the movie or any social media condolences by the people making the movie
Stuntman also died in the making of the first "xXx", Vin Diesel, movie. A stuntman was killed during season 8 of "The Walking Dead". These people really deserve more recognition than they get, the only reason they don't, is because arrogant, asshole actors like to fake credit for the stuntman's remarkable work !
I'm in the opposite of Martin in this, this movie feels refreshing, all this time, lota action movies making action scenes just to make their characters look bad ass, but this movie is doing the opposite, the action scenes gave more comedic effect.
Also, all the characters, even the villains, got a unique sense of humor to each of them, I'm really enjoyed watching this movie😂
It's nice to see Teresa Palmer getting more work. She's heavily underrated, her first scene with Gosling in this movie was absolutely incredible and hilarious
Could not agree more. I adore Teresa Palmer...she is so versatile. If you have not seen her as the villainess in "Kill Me 3 Times", you truly need to see her "BAD" side ! And, she used her real voice in this, not an American accent
Anyone remember Ryan Gosling in Young Hercules tv series from the late 90's? Not to mention actor Kevin Smith who portrayed Ares The God Of War from Hercules, Xena and Young Hercules died from a freak accident while filming a movie back in 2002 he was only 39 years old. 😢⚔🙏📺

You really hit it in regard what sets this Ryan from Reynolds in that they do play the same type except Gosling feels more natural in being charming & comedic. All the marketing for this movie has been great to show off how awesome being in Stunts really is

6 Million Dollar Man was a lil before my time being an 80s baby but Fall Guy I loved as a kid. Was one of the action shows like Knight Rider and A Team that kids would like watching w their parents. This looks fun even my step daughter wants to see it especially after seeing Gosling in Barbie. He might be more popular know than he ever was.

Got to watch this with my dad. He grew up watching the original series and he loved this remake. We had a blast pointing out all of the references and easter eggs.
No lie my brain keeps correcting the title of this movie as Free Guy and I keep mixing Ryan Reynolds with Ryan Gosling. So every time I see a trailer I keep thinking haven’t I already seen this movie?
"HOOPER" (1978) with Burt Reynolds & Jan Michael Vincent, is another fun movie tribute, to the stuntman, very watchable...quite good.
This whole movie was perfect to start the summer. Ryan Gosselin and Emily blunt had great chemistry. I love how fun the comedy is.

When I was a kid, 'Stunts Unlimited' was popular in the East San Fernando Valley. Some of the stuntmen lived nearby.
Peter O’Toole and Steven Railsback did a great film called THE STUNTMAN

Funny Metal Storm is a real B movie that came out after Star Wars. It's absolutely terrible. This movie is witty and not annoying in its 3rd wall breaking meta commentary about the industry. The action is incredible and the comedy works. I laughed throughout, as did my mostly male audience. The story could be better, but this is about explosions and stunt falls.
Wow, I actually agree with Martin on this! Just came back from it and it just didn't do it for me. It's sad because I love Bullet Train and Emily Blunt and the premise sounds great, but they just did nothing with it and it just drrrraaaggggeeeddd.

Watched this today... loved the first half, hated the second half. I guess I should have seen it coming when the movie tries to be slick and talks about the 3rd act problems and how to be lazy about it... Gosling was awesome though
But, I am very curious of what people think about one thing. The villain's girlfriend, plays the second main character in the movie inside this movie. She is clearly right next to him when he murders the stunt man in the video... why is she still in the movie at the end of this and not in jail? Is this a plot hole? Or is the movie taking a jab at a horrible person being allowed to be in a movie with Jason Momoa even though she is clearly a horrible person in real life? (Amber Heard in real life, Teresa Palmer's character in this movie, in case that needed clarification)
I just don't think the writers really cared all that much. It's one of several threads that just kind of get abandoned after a while. The whole movie kind of falls apart if you think about it more than a bit.

The only issue I had with the movie was it always undercut the action scenes with comedy. Colt Seavers was legitimately badass, but that angle of the he character was always played up for a laugh. Would’ve liked it if, on at least one occasion, the movie could’ve just played a badass part straight, and let it be badass. Aside from that, damn good date flick.
The stuntman is obsolete in today's cinematic production
