Chris Evans could have played Omni-Man after this.
First of all Korey discovering the term Mid the same way I did is so fn relatable, and Chris Evans still having a blast playing villains is a great sight even if the film is underwhelming.
Couldn't agree more!
That had me WEAK
Baby Boomer version of mid is meh 😂😂😂😂
Every time I see Chris Evans I will ALWAYS think of his first role I saw him in...NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE. Which was funny as Shit lol.
🤣 that's all i think about too. Like I literally arm this man come up. i still have the movie funny as hell
@@FaceFamous the beginning made me LMAO in the theater like a mofo!🤣
And Cellular right after that.
My all time favorite Chris Evans funny movie was The Fantastic 4 🤣🤣🤣
He's the only reason I wish I had his powers growing up

Honey wake up, Double Toasted dropped the review
Just use Billy's laugh as a alarm to wake her HaHa
Zzzzzz wife went back to sleep and dislike the review. She was hoping for the Jordan peele review but double toasted doesn't support black trailers and movies anymore. Their netfkux reviews don't perform at the level of only theater reviews and they prefer to drop these Netflix only marvel boys care than go to a Jordan peele movie or the Malcom book movie. Even Mexican Guillermo drl Toro review would have performed better if they hadn't kept it on the twitch stream. I never twitch and don't care for Netflix. I subscribed for the movie reviews
I’m eagerly waiting for Nope 😁
@@bbybap4729 maybe they didn't make it to the early nope screening? They prefer everything thy can watch at home. I'd take their place at the screenings if I could. I wish they at least had reacted to the trailers but DT isn't into movies anymore they're into streaming shows and marvel.notice how they gave a pass to Thor fir the same absurdity that made them hate Aquaman and venom?
@@parareefaelias656 you look silly af now why you hate double toasted so much?
Was a straight forward “secret agent gets crossed and goes rogue” type film and I loved it. Feel like this type of movie use to be more common.
Martin, Korey and Chris not understanding the slang “mid” to even a basic level is a sight to behold 💀
@@TheOneManWhoBeatYou as someone part of gen z, imma let that comment slide💀
@@whosmansisthis6624 You'll understand when you get older.
@@Crunch_Buttsteakmy generation can be stupid asf but I think we’ll be fine
@@whosmansisthis6624 You're right. My comment was more about how most people will have a dislike towards certain aspects of the generations that succeed them whether it's fashion, slang, music, all of the above, etc. So one day you'll understand more what people are saying.
@@Crunch_Buttsteak ohhh ok yea I see what you’re saying. Personally I’m trying to better and watch myself as I get older to not be judgements to the next gen.
He looks like Jim Carreys Robotnik 10 years before we see him in the first Sonic
I’m 32 when did mid go from quality of weed to quality of everything 😂, tic tok is the devil 😂😂
The Russo Brother's could've made a more focused street level assassin movie for half the budget. All these big chase scenes are just time eaters, they have no real story to tell and it shows with this movie.
I was shocked to hear that the budget for the Gray Man is $220 million.
yeah the tone is kinda not grounded. It's like I'm watching a mash of different films. Lacks focus and tone. Some fun action sequences though.
Its a dumb action flick thats it get some popcorn and enjoy
Not any dumber than john wick tho
I enjoyed this movie what can I say. It’s not redefining the genre, it’s not the best movie of the year but it’s not terrible. The action & my interest in the actors is what kept me engaged throughout. I’d give it a high rental. I watched it in theaters a few days ago.
I watched it at home. I wished I would’ve went to theaters to see it. I really really liked this movie. I think if it didn’t come out on Netflix people would be singing a different tune. The action kept me locked in the whole movie and Chris played the villain to the Tee.
I woulda killed 2 buckets of popcorn
Loved this movie but hated the ending.. the cia really got away with it??
@@diaryofapoet1927 it was the only realistic part of the movie lol. The cia always gets away with it.
@@KThangcrazy haha I guess you're right
We need to start giving movie studios to saying no to many movie ideas. Netflix needs a NO man
Dhanush is a south indian tamil actor. You should watch his movies . Watch asuran.
Let's just call it what it is, fast furious 10. Was waiting for Dom to show up in post credits
Korey looks pretty good for 50 years old
I really enjoyed this movie. It was really entertaining but so weird that it has gotten many mixed reviews.
FCK THE CRITICS
Yes the very beginning when he was visited in jail was corny. But other than that very good. good action I liked it
Yeah I really liked it too. It's not John Wick but I enjoyed the fuck out of it.
Ya i liked it. starting to doubt my taste cause apperently im supposed to hate everything these days. the music was a lil much but thats pretty much it.
@@JohnCWannamaker for some reason the John wick trailer alone ruined the movie for me. I would've liked it but after seeing the John wick trailer, I put the movie down asap. I couldn't muster more than the beginning. There's so many jump cuts it's crazy. Then I went back to the new Johnny trailer and was like aight guess I'll wait for that to come out instead of watching any more lol. I'm sure it's a great movie to some though and you're certainly entitled to your own opinion! Doesn't make you less or more than anyone else for sure.
Between knives out and the gray man chris evans is having fun being the villian
I Liked the action scenes (the square attack scene with the Riot shields reminded me when I played Uncharted) And that Ana De Armas got to do 1/3 of the action was cool👍
This was meant to be the start of a film franchise for Netflix, but it might have worked better as a tv show, since this is based on a series of books and could have been the new anticipated Netflix show after Stranger Things
I've been saying it would've been better as a TV show as well, could've had the next big thing seen as its got plenty of source material in the books.
I don’t think Chris Evans or Ryan Gosling would do a tv show
@@TheMa5cmpb yeah I doubt they would’ve unfortunately! I don’t have a problem with their casting just the film itself really
It could have, if they'd actually based it on the books. I get the impression that whoever wrote the script never actually read the book it's supposed to be based on.
Yeah Gosling has said he won’t do sequels and rather not do TV.
Gen Z didn’t invent Mid, they just ran it into the ground.
Ana de Armas is awesome in this. I’m totally up for her getting more action roles.
💯
Although I hope they are more interesting in the future.
I'd be in for a Bond spinoff following her character from No Time To Die.
You're lying. She was mostly bland and silent. ANY actress could've played her role here.
I'm thinking her for Black Cat if she keeps it up
Coleman trippin this movie was fun as hell to watch🤣
Evans is the real show, but I also really enjoyed Gosling's dry sense of humor here. He wasn't taking the role completely serious.
No, but for some reason the charisma was not enough in display. At least for me. Plus they are kinda right when they say that he’s really not reacting enough to the insane stuff that he’s going through. He is punched in the face and not one ounce of pain was felt through his emoting, at least for me.
With Chris Evans playing so many villainous roles, I feel like it's a matter of time before he plays a variant Cap, hydra cap in the Sam Wilson captain America film or maybe a secret wars.
That would be so fun 😭
I'd actually pay to see that go down!
Chris Evans is in a blender rn. Better not return that shield yet.
I remember seeing the trailer and thinking it looked like it was shot more like a superhero film. Plus it's hard to imagine Ryan Gosling as a "Broc Sansom" esc killing machine.
Dude got ripped gor this just take a look
congrats on 1000 movie reviews 👏
I enjoyed this movie for what it was. The fight scenes were dope and the action was legit. I don't need Shakespeare writing. That wasn't the point of the movie.
Yeah, but even the, “I don’t need Shakespeare writing,” is kind of a bad excuse now. Plenty of the actors are taking the role too seriously, which sometimes makes sense for a 90s action movie, but the way they do it also kind of saps a lot of the personality away. Even if they wanted to do it more serious, they should have really toned down the over-the-top, or better yet, have just something to say like Winter Soldier did.
Mid is a term for mediocre or midgrade weed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was like what 🤣🤣🤣
Middling
Ok.. The scene where Chris Evans yells at... shoots in the chest... then kicks in the head... two DEAD GUARDS.... made the whole movie worth it. This movie was camp action but also... like in the vibe of a Marvel movie.. It's super hero nonsense.
But I fucking loved it. Gosling playing a marvel version of Drive vs twirly mustache Chris Evans villain?? I am here for it.
Exactly man he was a menace and I loved every second of both of them together on screen.
Golly gee, I only just learned about this new-fangled "mid" from this conversation!
It used to be that, with Netflix, their original series were hit and miss, but their movies were spot on. Nowadays, it feels like everything is hit and miss with them. And, this is a time when they need everything to fire on all cylinders.
When I heard about a new Netflix movie called the Grey Man I immediately went “oh, god no! Please no!” Thankfully this isn’t about Albert Fish.
Mid is slang for bad weed. The Mexican brick we all smoked growing up.
Sorry, but I can't stand Ryan Gosling. Every movie he's in it feels like he's miscast or something. Anytime I see him in or starring in a movie, I don't care what it is, I tend to avoid it. I might take a look at this movie since Chris Evans is in it and it is a Russo Brothers movie but still, not at the top of my list of must-see movies.
Because he acts as himself in pretty much everything.
Chris isn't a better actor either but he's got some looks going for him.
I've seen the movie in theaters already. It's not that good. The action seems TOO excessive, the drones are distracting, some of actors were good (Dhanush, Julia Butters, Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and Ana DeArmas). All the other actors were unnecessary and flat. The movie was like a" seen this before"movie. The Russo Brother in my opinion just made an C- movie with this one. I feel that the audience may watch it on Netflix and then after a week the movie will probably be forgettable.
@@augustwhidbee9519 Russo brothers should call it quits. They can't do shit outside of Marvel. I think this is third consecutive failure in attempting something non-marvel.

"mid" is short for mid tier
I also think it’s short for mediocre
Did he borrow Henry Cavill's mustache?
Netflix movies are usually more miss than hit, but when they hit they’re quite good like with Klaus
💯💯💯. And The Sea Beast
lmao, isn't the Red Notice movie the most watched in Netflix? It is so bad and the only reason people watched it was because the cast was star-studded.
@@darn4285 There you have it. People don't really care for quality but the attraction. Action movies are like CW's Riverdale for dudes.
I'll check it out for Chris Evans. My first time seeing him was in Cellular and he looked like he was having a blast and I had a blast watching him. He always looks like he's having a blast. Especially when he's allowed to be humorous.
He will always be Captain America.
His performance in Snowpiercer is great and he’s excellent in other non Marvel stuff like Gifted(2017)
@@chasehedges6775 He was also very good in Street Kings, Scott Pilgrim, Puncture, and Sunshine.
@@chasehedges6775
Aaayyee, nice to see someone else who's seen and enjoyed _Gifted (2017)_ . Both Chris Evans' and McKenna Grace's performances were spectacular in the movie. McKenna was also definitely a highlight of that latest Ghostbusters film too.
@@ajiththomas2465 💯
I've always enjoyed Goslings movies and Chris Evans was excellent in Knives Out so it's interesting to see him as the bad guy again. I don't expect much but I'm still gonna watch it
Its john wick without the story of gangs controlling the country it was an 8 for me personally
Being ex military I feel like the actors did a good job because thats how people in the government are.
chris evans is such an underated actor
When they are talking this mid thing, I was just as confused as korey especially when explain when ppl lower the word to a like "mid" n martin looking around with his eyes
This was me after he explained:
2:33.
"What da fuck does mid means?"
You gotta keep up with the times.
"Man, fuck the times, times today is confusing."
Mid-level? Is it that confusing of a term?
This movie put me to sleep and I woke up just when the credits rolled. You don't need to know, but Netflix should.
Would love to hear a review on RRR
Bruh, like the Russos' are a one trick pony outside of tv comedies and MCU related stuff. They can't direct themselves out of non-disney produced box.
I want DT to talk about Netflix losing even more subscribers lately.
Exactly Netflix is projected to gain more subscribers before end of the year
I want a movie where thiers one henchmen thats smarter than the others and actively survies all the situations because he has basic survival instincts
Hey Double Toast, Can you please review the Genndy Tartakovsky Primal is so good and masterpieces. But It's about the caveman named spear and the t rex named Fang for both are friends trying to struggle to survive and living in life and death was prehistoric time as very violence, Brutally, Action, dramatic, dark and gritty. and also there is no dialogue at all. Just only grunted, Roar and facial expression. And What do you think about Primal tv shows on adult swim? 🙏
So no one else brought mustaches to this movie. 😆 😆 😆
22:00 have you never seen The Nice Guys, it might be the Directors that wanted him to act that way
Evil Captain America vs K (bladerunner)?
After watching the Terminal List the night before and how good that was The Gray Man is a literal joke. It's a terrible "tactical" type movie and got a 4/10 from me. Terminal List got a 9/10. So I am not a hater. If it's good it's good. Gray Man was one of the worst letdowns I've ever seen.
Chris Evans can now officially play the villain and the hero... Looong way from Johnny Storm and Push
I'm curious about Julia Butters, the girl from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Haven't seen Ryan Gosling in as much recently so I will check this out but I really wish there was a sequel to the nice guys that was a great fun action movie with gosling and Russel Crowe
The Nice Guys 2 needs to happen.
the even nicer guys
@@ajiththomas2465 completely agree and for some reason I remembered it being called the good guys lol.
@@heyitMeMcFlyunfortunately the nicest guys 😂
Abbreviating words like middling and middle to mid, has been common in the English language since before any of us were born. Y'all are acting like it's the language from Arrival. 🤣
Please can someone tell me what they would consider a better film since COVID, if this film was med.
I'd give it an 8
It was john wick basically but without the whole mafia/gangster ruling over everything story
SO THEY GOT THE WRONG RYAN
Mid is reference to weed🤣
Wish I was in the twitch chat. Russo's did NOT make Red Notice that was Marshall Thurber who directed Skyscraper and Central Intelligence. I think they were thinking of Extraction with Chris Hemsworth.
We know. We were saying the two are similar.
11:45 so Michael Bay..
fight scenes were solid
Martin and kory saying this is better than any John wick movie is enough for them to get their critics license revoked lol.
Chris Evans' attire progressively gets more evil. 😆 😆 😆
I've just forgotten never reading the books The great man isn't supposed to have a personality.... His character is to be cool on every situation
Its like Shane black wrote and Michael bay directed (kiss kiss bang bang and nice guys crossed with ambulance and 6 underground)
They made Extraction with Chris Hemsworth, but with no soul.
And Taken 2 level of cuts per second on the action scenes.
the sad thing is that gosling does have some comedic chops. if he brought the same swagger he had in _crazy stupid love_ to this role as crazy events take place around him, the character would've been more enjoyable to follow along with
Chris Evans reminded me of Bennet from Comando. Come to think of it, thy even share the teenage girl macguffin.
I loved the fact that the fights scenes with Ana are realistic. She isn’t throwing around 270 pound men. She gets some punches off and she takes a lot of damage unlike The 355 which was horrible. To the defense of personality… he’s called the Gray Man for a reason. I thought Gosling sarcastic one liners between him and Evans were golden. I’m sorry..I loved it.
Me too i thoroughly enjoy it. It's an action movie not supposed to have the best story lines. But Chris Evans wanting to play the villain was great he always had humor and Gosling and him together was funny with the one liners. I liked it
Weird argument to say that this is supposed to be an action movie to set in the real world. I don't remember Bond or Mission Impossible films of being super realistic 😁
Or Bond having amazing personality lol.
Agreed
This movie was fun as hell in the theater, Dolby XD baby. Great theater experience with my bucket of popcorn and Dr pepper and hotdog, jalapenos. The theater room was full and The whole audience had a blast.
Right! I loved the movie 🍿
I'm looking forward to the day I hear the first millennial called a boomer by some kid. 😃
Just watched Gray Man it was over the top dumb awesome action I loved it. The Gray Man might as well had super powers or been comic book movie he was indestructible LOL!
Damn, Red Notice is the last movie you want to be compared to. Looks like this year peaked with The Northman and Stranger Things.
Just got finished watching it. I liked it...
Her name is Jessica Henwick! You say her whole name. She's beautiful & awesome lol
Blind fury ..lol
Yeah, no! This movie is supposed to be over-the-top action filled silliness with an over-the-top villain to match. That's the entire point of this movie. It's the Russo Brothers passion project and their love of action movies. It's a movie, not a documentary. Plus, the tone is meant to be different than what the Russo Brothers did for their Marvel movies. At least it's not a Michael Bay movie with stupid/insulting action. Maybe get a clue about what the tone of this movie is, and stop complaining it's not the same pre-conceived notion you thought it should be because of what the Russo Brothers did for Marvel and the fact it also has Captain America in it.
For those who read the books and were anticipating this movie, it was a let down. From the books it wasn't suppose to be filled with silliness. It is almost like the Russo bros heard someone talking about the books and then just made a movie with the same name. They couldn't have actually read the books.
Russo brothers haven't had much success outside of Marvel.
They did some research episode of Community. I think they did 1 paintball episode and Justin Lin ( Fast and Furious 3-6, 9) did the other
That's true
Everybody wants to be john wick....
Yall tripping one of the better Netflix Movies
Martin and korey really hate John wick don’t they jesus lol.
So what if it isn't a "super hero" movie? If it's bad in a non super hero movie it would still be bad in a super hero movie. Also, most of these super heroes are set in the real world, but with the existent of powers and aliens. And many action movies, especially 80s and 90s have a lot of plot armour and unrealistic scenarios and people love those movies.
Usually if it’s a action movie as long as the action is done well then I could give a shit about the story
Pretty average movie all things considered.
Not horrible, but it certainly doesn't have a very good plot, the writing of this film is all over the place, and the dialogue isn't very good.
Ryan Gosling doesn't have a lot of range as an actor - he's a good actor, but he doesn't have a lot of range - and this movie really didn't play to his strengths as maybe Drive did, or The nice guys.
Pretty cool action scenes, and some nice musical touches/choices, but I can tell I'll forget about it in a few days.
They really tried to make 6 and the girl have a good ending. But it wasn’t believable at all, they didn’t have enough scenes or chemistry to make it work.
It wasn't too bad. It's okay as a dumb fun movie. Similar to a James Bond movie, minus the misogyny.
More in line with the Pierce Brosnan era.
If someone drops a grenade in front of you, the last thing you'd think of is shooting someone in the leg. Next, Chris Evans' character needed Ryan's character alive in order to find out where the SIM card is. Until after they met with Alfie's character.
This is what Netflix is all about mid. Boring ass dull movies all they have is Stranger things
I loved it
And while I did like Evans character you can’t have both him and Gosaling hamming it up. That’s too much ham for one movie
This was not a movie where people were constantly yelling at people I remember the scene Corey was talking about where the girl character said people are going to teach classes about this fuck up and she was not yelling.
The Russo Brothers took a dive when they left the MCU
Captain America ripped Superman's stache off
...or had Superman rip it off himself to hand off.
no wonder why netflix lost 1 million subscribers hahaha
Was more Entertaining than the first 45min of TOP GUN
