Steam Locomotive At Rawalpindi | Jaffar Express Arrival with ZCU-20 | Pakistan Railways

- Steam Locomotives are long abandoned in Pakistan Railways after the introduction of Diesel locomotives and Electric locomotives. They are now found only at major railway stations & railway museums across Pakistan. In this video I took a small shot of steam locomotive that is placed as a memorial infront of Rawalpindi railway station building.
After this short clip, I have captured the empty platform #3 before the arrival of 40DN Jaffar express from Peshawar. And lastly Jaffar express arrives with ZCU-20

I must say it wouldn't take much to get that thing running again for special occasions considering the deserts temperatures would preserve the metal it wouldn't take much to rebuild and restore to operating condition but to be safe I would still have it taken apart and completely rebuilt just to be sure it would run okay without any problems
Thank you. A few of them are still in working condition for safari train ride. However, since they are too many in numbers, several has been put up on display in museums and train stations.

Thanks for appreciation Sir. Right now no steam loco is running but PR is doing a trial of steam safari train on rwp & psc division and hopefully will be launched soon.

Thanks Dave. I am not really sure about England or Scotland but I will try to find out. And yes, the man in brown crouched at the end is from carriage staff and have the duty you mentioned.
