Lost Glory of Kasur Junction & Railfanning In City of Baba Bulleh Shah | Pakistan Railways

Hello Everyone, Today's video is very unique and my personal one of favorite railfanning experience. Me and my friend Bilal went to Kasur Junction from Lahore for some railfanning. As most of you know that Kasur is burial place of famous Sufi poet, Baba Bulleh Shah, we also paid a visit to his burial place.
Kasur Junction used to be a big junction before partition of India and Pakistan and many trains use to transit daily but now only one train works and also the lines to Ferozepur are now dismantled and it is not anymore a busy junction.
Anyway, we had a great experience and I have created this VLOG and hope you all will enjoy it. Do give me your feedback.

Nice information of Kasur station.I am from Maharashtra India. I saw at some stations here , to change the directions of locomotive a circular moving platform is there, and the engine is moved in opposite direction manually.
This Y tipe mechanism is simple and convenient.
Good old station.best wishes to citizens of Kasur.

Thank you Vijay. Most stations have motorized or manual turntable here too but still Y shape is present in few cities. The major problem of Y mechanism is that it takes too much space which is usually not available in most cities.

Wonderful vlog...As my birth place is Ferozepur...Kasur has important place for us..as it is 30 kms only from Ferozepur..from Indian side..rail track upto Husasaniwala border still exists..from where Kasur is only 15 kms...Kasur was connected to Amritsar via Khem Karan, Patti, Taran Taran...it was the rail track to go to Amritsar from Ferozepur...after partition this route was stopped.. now Khem Karan became a dead End...I also noted that the design and outlook of Kasur Railway station and Ferozepur Cantt station is almost same...thanks for sharing and making reminiscent with history...

Ferozepur Road is actually in Many Indian cities of Punjab as well. It is as legendary as the Grand Trunk Road. It is a six lane highway now being upgraded to an expressway from Ludhiana in Indian Punjab to Ferozepur.

Before Partition, Kasur and Ferozepur were twin cities. From Ferozepur, Delhi Gate area , Tongas( Horse Driven Cart) used to ply to Kasur and back. Similarly, Fruit and vegetables used to come from Kasur to old Sabzi Mandi near Ferozepur city Railway Station. Hussainiwala, Ganda Singh Wala JCP was the only Border Crossover point between India and Pakistan till 1971 war. Lot of International tourists used to come to India via Ganda Singh Wala Customs Post.
