now this is the RIGHT review...and not comparing iPad with Mac. iPad is not Mac, Mac is not iPad. Good and professional review. keep on.
This was fantastic. As a iPad user I found a few different things that I didnât know but am looking forward to using.
Me as well. I just bought a new iPad, and I still donât know and donât get how to make it productive with the iPad since Iâm also has a laptop. But once I watched, it is very useful tips!
Iâve watched a lot of reviews, tips etc⊠but this is amazing. First time I see someone using siri shortcuts and the screen looks so organized. Cheers!
I appreciate the sponsorship and screen protection aspect but I do find the small silicone pencil tip covers also give a realistic paper experience for a fraction of the cost. The coloured ones also enhance the spatial awareness of where the pencil tip is in relation to the screen
In retirement I ditched our PCs and laptops as soon as the iPad appeared, so subject matter such as this video are much appreciated
EXTREMELY HELPFUL! Learned so much. Thank you for your videos.
The value of my ipad just 10Xâd thank you!
Iâve been an iPad user for years and still learned many things I didnât know. Thanks for the great video.
I will have to watch this again. I buy every new iPad that comes out and use it when I go to meetings or other offices, so I don't have to take my laptop. These tips are genius. I had yet to learn these functions were available. Especially the screenshot swipe, markups, and grab text. I am waiting on the new iPad Pro 13" M4. I also have a fully speced MacBook Pro. One day, I'd like to use the iPad. I need to watch many more videos to harness the real power.
interesting you buy every iPad and still aren't a power user. do you just enjoy collecting them all or just too busy learn the features? it sounds like you're missing out on so much despite having all the latest tech
@@DarrinLin spending $2500 on the M4 has incentivized me to become a power user. Iâve watched dozens of videos.
Yes it really is different from the Mac and requires time and effort to learn. I just got the 13â and can really see the difference in the screen and an uptick in performance. I love the 1000 nit and the twin oled is crisp and vibrant.
Excellent. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the iPad, but I learned a lot from this.
for the first time ever an ipad review i find worthy of watching since my first ipad from 2018
Great video, should be compulsory viewing for all iPad owners! Clear and concise without being condescending. I didnât know about dragging text to copy or the calculator in spotlight!
As always, I learn so much from your clear, concise, and imminently useable content. I really appreciate your videos and the time you put into them. Thank you!
You are such a great teacherâŠThanks for all your very helpful, easy to understand knowledge.
This video is app-solutely brilliant! đ€©
Absolutely brilliant time savers! đ€© Thanks, Tom đ€
This is a very helpful tutorial. You are a fountain of wisdom. Thanks!
Awesome overview of iPadâs functionality. An iPad is indeed not a mac (and hopefully it never will be) and can provide great productivity once you understand itâs logic as explained so well in this video.
Tom, thank you very much for this video, very excellent information. I particularly loved the trick about the quick notes widget. Thank you!!
Cool video, thanks a bunch. By the way: Horizontal view is called Landscape view and Portrait view (vertical) the other way around.
Greetings from Switzerland đšđ
As always, loaded with great information. A few new things Iâm going to have to incorporate. Iâm on my iPad all the time! Thank you đ
Awesome videos bro. Really well thought out and delivered.
The guided access is top notch thank you so much. Very useful when writing on my iPad and my pencil to prevent accidental gestures
Thanks for the helpful refresher! I have a 1st gen 11" Pro gathering dust, and now that I'm upgrading to the M4, this info is exactly what I needed.
what a deviously well-timed video.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing these tips. đ
Great video with easy to follow tips, perfect!
That quick note thing is awesome!
Super helpful. My iPad use habits definitely needed this. Thank you!
Thank you so very much Tech! This is FANTASTIC! I will be setting up my iPad in just this manner. Thank you also for the bonuses too! WOW!!!
Wow. Subscribed. I use my iPad religiously for work and lately been gaming on it. Iâm gonna copy some of this
Thank you so much! I have a smaller 4th gen I pad air that I bought to use at a previous job. I now work from home and am studying a post grad. I neglected my ipad a bit as I hadn't set it up properly and didn't know its full capabilities. It seems the more iOS updates that happen, it becomes even more useful. I sit at a computer all day for work so I don't want to have to sit at my mac all evening to study. I've found my ipad is actually really useful and a lot more productive for some things that you have mentioned here (screenshotting and marking up pdfâs), which would have taken a lot longer on my mac.
Iâve been considering getting a new ipad with a larger screen as my current one is a bit too small for studying. I want the new one that has just been announced with the nano-textur glass so its easier on the eyes, but unfortunately you can only get that in the 1TB model which is a lot more expensive. I couldnât justify spending that.
However you have just opened my eyes up to a lot more possibilities with the iPad and I think it will actually really help me study more frequently, more efficiently and a lot more enjoyably! Whilst also being in less pain due to sitting in the same posture all day đ
This video might have persuaded me to possibly treat myself for my 30th!
Great video one of the best I have seen in a while
Nice. Another very useful video! Thanks.
Thanks for the initial assessment. Focus on what the Ipad does. I am sooo sick of critical reviews and complaints because it doesnât do what a Mac does.
Bonus tip 2 is game changer.
Simply outstanding content on your channel.
Amazing video, ive had an iPad for years but couldnt really get in to it for workâŠi will try your tips, many thanks đ
WOWâŠawesome information. Thank you.
Fantastic. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this! I can now use my iPad for its money's worth!
Really good and notticed tutorial. Thank you for this very much!
great way to use quick notes! had no idea how to use it.
Haha great timing for your video and the title is extra nice đ
Appreciate your video, switched to S9 and doubt if Iâll ever go back to iPad.
Great video. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing video! I learned so much! Thereâs no need for me to buy the M4 iPad. I have to learn how to use the one I currently have! Thank you!
12:43
combining pdfs !! i didn't know about that
thank you very much
Thank You!
8:15 drag and drop works also on a iPhone. Iâve tested myself.
Well said!
Brilliant!
As always a few good tips here that I didn't know about. I really don't use my iPad in the correct way it seems!
Thanks!
In my previous post I forgot to mentioned that I love âPaperlikeâ products. Paperlike not only protects the iPad screen from scratches (especially if one has the tendency to drop the pencil) but when one is writing or drawing it makes it feel better. The pencil doesnât âslideâ on the glass and the hand or fingers donât smudge the surface. I think it makes writing feel like a more natural experience.
But what does it SOUND like writing on the paperlike screen cover? Is it very loud? Thanks for doing all these videos, I love them!
Thanks, my ipad is pure chaos, great tips.
Damn you are fast. Good video!
For me, "honestly" your channel is the best channel for all things iPad. I this particular case, with QUICK NOTES on the desktop, the window ONLY shows the most recent quick note, i.e., none of the other QN I've created before the last one, not a list of all your quick notes (as your screen shows in the video)... Thoughts?
You need to select the normal notes widget, then edit the widget and select the âquick noteâ list. That gives you the full list of quick notes rather than just the last one.
Great video. Question, where did you get the widget to switch focus modes and home screens from? Is it from shortcuts or built in widget? Thanks
Quick note is handy when I use Switcher studio as switcher studio will will quit if you go out of it. so quick note stays on top and you can copy and paste your text in and out of it with no penalty
You can have App folders on the mac by creating a folder, putting the apps (or links to them) and placing it in the dock đ€
I wish there was a way to get the siri suggestions type (smaller) icon clusters using apps I pick. I would love to cluster apps by category this way. I use folders now, but out of sight, out of mind. Are there any other 3rd party apps that would enable this? Thank you for your valuable content.
This is a great video, but Iâm always confused about using my Apple ID for my iPad that I use for phone and Mac. Should I have different ones? Or if I use the same how do I keep each device unique in its layout? When I used my Apple ID from my phone for my iPad it basically just copied my entire phone and laid the apps out as a copy basically. Iâm totally lost! Thanks for you help! And maybe a video on this would be great!đ
Are the rectangular app folders only available to bigger iPads on landscape mode? Iâm on iPad Mini 6 (iPadOS 17.4.1) and itâs still the old mini square folders.
Fantastic suggestions. Iâve seen so many poor reviews of Paperlike I wouldnât want to waste my money.
I learned AGAIN thank you. Only, I canât get the gesture copying working for some reason. I have an older iPad Pro 10.5 2017 maybe thatâs the reasonđđ€
Wow!
How do you make this Groups of App's? Means, how can i sort my Apps in these Group of 8 Apps?
Is there someway that you could explain how to move icons around and not get some of the other icons on the screen to jump to another location? I very much dislike that I canât get certain icons to stay in one place when I want put another icon before or above it. If you already have a video about this, please let me know what to look for, and I will search for it. Very much enjoy your videos!
I have an iPad Pro which is my main computer now and I have an iPhone 12 Pro but I also use the Outlook app for my hotmail
Your video has been one of the best and most helpful I have seen in a very long time. I have been using Apple products since they had the old clunky Mac computers. I have owned every Apple product on the Market. I am very organized with my MacBook Pro and iMac. No matter how much I try, I have never been able to organized my iPhone or iPad the way I organized my computers. It is very frustrating and distracting. Your video demonstrated tremendous possibilities. This is the first time I have seen a clutter free, efficient, and useful Home Screen. I have looked at your other videos but have not found instructions in how to create a similar Home Screen. Please help. Where can I find the videos or instructions to create the Home Screen shown on this video. Especially instructions to create the shortcuts for work, personal, entertainment, etc. Creating the VIP email, etc. It would be greatly appreciated.
I thought heâs going to mount a GoPro on the iPadđ
WOW!
YOU CAN MAKE folders on a Mac to. Itâs just not as easy
Which keyboard is in the background?
Whereâs the link to the focus mode video ?
You're like a genius or something. I'm copying this and people will think I'm so smart lol
How do I view streets or any location in ipad Apple Maps?
Great Video. Question, when do you think the previous models will become cheaper now that these new ones are coming out
M2 iPad Pro has been removed from sale, so the only hope of getting one at a discount is by buying old stock from a third party (Amazon etc) or buying certified refurb (which I would absolutely recommend, picked up a couple of phones and an iPad mini from that last year)
If I want to create a work focus, but not exclude anyone from contacting me, how would I set the "people" section under "notifications"?
How did You hide the app labels?
I have just discovered your video and think the info is very good, however I canât believe that there is still no facility that allows you to arrange or duplicate your tablet to phone, especially when itâs still customizable, ie I go on my phone or smaller tablet etc and I should be able to mirror or duplicate lay out etc, I appreciate that some donât have as much memory but having the feature to do this would be a choice thing and considering the time that the devices have been around and the number of things that can be customized itâs pathetic, like iTunes being different depending on what you are using, itâs alienating
I think 3 finger pinch gesture is not a thing, you can just 3 finger tab without also awkwardly zooming in to get the pop-up menu :)
I love your videos but Siri Suggestions are IMHO crap the AI of Siri. Seriously I made 4 and had duplicates I had AI apps in 4 different widgets. They make no logical sense other than most used but decent AI would group similar apps together. It oppersite to productivity
Please provide video link to focus video
Link is in the description of the video
Three finger pinching to copy on a safari page is almost impossible. The page zooms out to thumbnails view.
Was I the only one who thought he would use a GoPro camera in an iPad?
Your code doesnât apply any discount at paper like website
See id love to use Siri suggestions widgets⊠but Siri doesnt suggest the best widgets.
There should be a widget that shows your most recently opened apps.
Unfortunately, you didnât link to your FOCUSED MODE video. So sad
My mistake, they're now included.
Not sure the iPad knowing your current location is relevant to the foreign currency conversion you showed. I just tried it, tapped the microphone and said $2500 and it still gave me the equivalent in British pounds ignoring the fact that Iâm currently in South America. In fact, I am in Guyana and if there was anything in intelligent going on it shouldâve given me the equivalent of 2500 Guyanese dollars in pounds, which is only about 10 quid. Or maybe 2500 USD in GYD.
iPad Pro is for suckers
Good video. But still I would argue unless you're a digital artist or like taking handwritten notes digitally, the iPad is not a good value investment. Macs are far better
Too many compromises, you can do ALMOST everything, but the workflow for many so simple tasks is often challenging and slow, leading to frustration many times. And the sadest thing of all that it is made so deliberately by Apple.
Having non user customisable dynamic volume buttons on an iPad PRO (and on a PRO only, so still a PRO?)
Many things to work force you to use Apple services (nicely sad Apple ecosystem) without alternatives, so pencil is great, but supports only a few languages properly. So you can be pro in English, really? I guess Apple has no cash to make it work like small 3rd party companies do.
It is a powerfull cripple. Magnificient and sad.
Letâs damage our cheap Apple Pencil with paperlike why are they advertising it so much if there product is that good
The resolution is still very bad with the 264 PPI. It was already way too pixelated and it still is.
The truth is that on the iPad we work 15 times slower than on the regular desktop. The iPad is still non-productivity device compared to PCs
Thatâs not true, especially if you have a current iPad Air or Pro with a Magic Keyboard. My primary device is now my iPad.
Students will beg to differ. Once you get the hang of it theres nothing like it.
Speak for yourself
I underwhelmed by this IPad Also the fact that Apple is making people buy all new accessories for it! If you want to buy the new IPad and you own an older model nothing will go with this Youâre keyboard you spent 300 dollars for!!! No buy another Pencil?? No buy another Cases??? No better buy another Apple sucking money out of the customers
Your accessories still working on it with the old one. The product was redesigned why would the case and keyboard still work? It's a new design. The Pencil 2 doesnt work because to move the camera they had to change the charging. USB pencil still works because it doesnt use the charging. Your complaining about nothing. You don't have to upgrade.
@@dbsasuke So you donât think they couldâve made the hardware change without forcing people into buying all new accessories for this Itâs shortsighted of Apple and a money grab
Apple is not making you buy anything
@@davepounds8924no, they couldnât have. I really like the fact that they also provided significant new capabilities in the Pencil Pro, but kept it the same price as the Pencil 2. I was expecting it to be $200 when I first saw it at the event, and I wouldâve gladly paid it to get it.
Iâll probably ebay my old Pencil and Magic Keyboard when my new iPad Pro m4 comes and I send my Air 5 back (it was my trade in).
@@davepounds8924No, itâs not physically possible for the old pencil to work with the new charging system. Moving the camera to the landscape side was one of the most requested features from users, and doing that required changing the charging mechanism, since the old one was where the camera is now. That means that the alignment of the charging coils in the pencil had to move from center to position(s) towards the ends. Fortunately, they also gave us a much better pencil at the same time, and surprisingly, at the same price point - I expected the new pencil to be $199.
Whatâs the difference between the standard glass and nano one?
Nano glass has been etched at a nanometer level to add a bit of texture which helps scatter ambient light and reduce glare without affecting sharpness or brightness. Or requiring an add-on. I hear it also improves the âfeelâ of the pencil on the glass, but havenât tried it yet myself - mine wonât arrive until June.
Itâs also only available on the 1 and 2 terabyte versions so there will still be a market for the paper like protectors.
