  • This episode is for someone that is striving to go after their goals.
    For the person who is grieving the loss of a loved one.
    This episode is for anyone who wants greatness in both career and family relationships.
    Wow, this was one of my favorite episodes of all time to record. I had the great honor of speaking with Chris Paul also known as “The Point God” on the Phoenix Suns NBA team.
    Whether you are in college dreaming about your future career, in high school wanting to play on the varsity team, or you’re at your day job thinking about the business you want to create... this is an extremely important episode to listen to.
    We learn in this episode about how Chris studies the game of basketball, and how he preps for each game. The patterns that Chris studies can be easily applied to your everyday life!
    On a more personal note, Chris came with such great vulnerability and openness. He shares the challenges and trajectories that he has overcome with grace and forgiveness.
    Is there anything that Chris is not confident about?
    How do you share challenging news to your children or loved ones?
    Most pivotal to his life, He shares with us his experience of the tragic loss of the closest person to him, his grandfather.
    Today we’ll explore:
    00:00 Intro
    00:19 How to handle loosing
    04:33 “Live the game”
    06:24 Take a break, live your life
    07:31 Building habits
    08:54 From the weakest to the best
    10:53 If you want to do something, you have to work for it
    13:20 Children can learn from your experiences
    20:41 Sacrifices you make when you have young kids
    24:26 The “can’t give up” attitude
    26:42 How do you keep your focus around reality?
    30:15 Dealing with death
    36:17 The lesson you always carry with you?

    Losing the lovable people like our mom and dad is the most greatest loss in our life. No one can be replaced in their place. Next to them is only God.

    I absolutely love the fact that he loves, appreciates and values his family! Additionally! he recognizes that you can't say that you love someone without being willing to sacrifice for them! I feel that part of God's definition for a father and husband is his ability and desire to cover his family. Listening to him speak, part of his legacy will be his love of family. Great interview Jay!!!

    What a wonderful podcast and Jay I really enjoy the way you do your interviews. You really allow the person to share their insights and stories. I know how he feels about his grandfather since I came from that kinda of world where all your parents would enjoy is maybe a decent Sunday meal. I always wish now that my parents were alive so that I could do so for them what they have done for us. As always, Jay 😊 podcast

      Absolutely! Knowing what is real and having confidence in yourself and your actions are essential. In life, there will always be opinions and judgments from others, both positive and negative. It's crucial to stay true to yourself, believe in your abilities, and trust your instincts.
      Having confidence allows you to navigate through challenges, make decisions based on your own values and goals, and stay resilient in the face of criticism or negativity. It's important to remember that you can't control what others say or think, but you can control how you react and how much importance you give to their opinions.

    'Catch up with the kids' If mothers hear that, we feel like, what the heck does that actually mean? Who is actually raising these kids, so that a man in 2023 still says he sometimes is 'catching up with the kids'. Don't get me wrong, I love this podcast, but I was worried to watch this one. Many men have such a different perspective about the whole idea of 'not taking a NO for an answer'. If you are a mother, you raise your kids and then you take some time, if possible, to catch up with the rest of the world, we take many NOs for an answer because the kids come first. Full-time mom with a full-time job, and those catching-up moments with your life and the world are rare, honey(s).
    .

    • @grannyronna
      @grannyronna Před 10 měsíci +1

      When he said that I had a startle reaction to, but then I understood that he made the decision so that his kids could stay where they wanted to stay. Providing for a family brings its own challenges: It feels to me like he and his wife are a team and work hard to put the kids first.
      I also liked when he talked about his daughter hearing that even when he was getting ready for HIS game he was watching her game.

    • @eva-mariaroessler3636
      @eva-mariaroessler3636 Před 10 měsíci

      @@grannyronna Well, many men have the option to take no "no" for an answer professionally, only because women stay home taking care of children. Not a few of those women have taken many no's for an answer, specifically when it comes to their own careers. I think men should finally do 50% of childcare and provide at the same time, full stop. Since that is what women do. It is what I do. In my case, 100% childcare and 100% providing for the family. It is 2023. So as long it is not at least 50/50 he can tell me a lot about not 'taking no for an answer', it sounds like a position of male privileged to me.
