KOBE BRYANT'S LAST GREAT INTERVIEW On How To FIND PURPOSE In LIFE | Kobe Bryant & Jay Shetty
Vložit
- čas přidán 11. 05. 2024
- On this episode of On Purpose, I sat down with Kobe Bryant. Kobe is a five-time NBA Champion, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and Oscar winner. Kobe created Granity Studios: where his new role consists of being a producer, storyteller, and writer.
Here’s a snippet of the brilliance you’ll witness … Kobe: “Now it's different because it's not about the awards, you just wind up trying to create something that's going to inspire someone, that hopefully through that inspiration they can inspire someone else. What I've come to learn as my career went on, that's more significant than any championship."

“You can be mentored by people who aren’t alive” 🥺
That part send chills up my spine. He truly was something special.
first person i thought about was kobe and what he means to me, and then i noticed this post was at 81 likes, crazy.
stupid crazy
This is the power of internet
It has nothing to do with the internet. Marcus Aurelius has been mentoring people for the last 2000 years with his personal journal that he left behind.
“You can be mentored by people that are not alive” Rip Kobe
That one hit different. The camera showed Kobe right after Jay said it too...dang!
What a powerfull person, living from the heart
💯I felt this
Truest words said by one of the realest people that ever existed.
time stamp?
Kobe Bryant is alive. If you hear him express himself, he is speaking to generations. His physical self may not be present, but his ideas, inspiration, and keen views will live for years and years to come. It is just amazing how much he enjoyed life. The accident got us all to mourn him but spearheaded us all to listen to him more than ever.
Legends never die
Couldn't have said it better... beautifully written coz that's how millions feel about it
❤
Key thang to learn is we all have the abilities Kobe showcased he just wasn't afraid of nurturing his life and wanted to connect wit those around him while we all here
But Kobe is a rapist so is he speaking that to generations or should he be forgotten
“Rest at the end, not in the middle”
Rest easy Kobe, You deserve it!
I wonder how Kobe's family is doing now.
Do rapists go to heaven? Always wondered only kobe knows this answer now

Indeed because he has practical aspects.he sets example to us.
I box and his videos help me . Crazy how diverse the mamba mentality is
@@eddygav4176 Does anyone know where can I get his bio pic The Muse.
My best friend is a composer and musician. He wakes up every day at 4 am to work on his and other artists' music. He always credited his work ethic, hunger, and desire to be better everyday to this man. When Kobe died my friend cried for days. He still cries when he watches highlights and interviews.
If I hear him scream out of nowhere I know he just watched a Kobe clutch video. Shortly after that, I'll be seeing him maybe cry a little, or talk about Kobe, but then he takes a deep breath and gets in a fucking zone that's so scary it makes me want to run a fucking mile just watching him work.
Kobe said at 17 "At the end of it all, If I'm only remembered as a basketball player, then I've failed"
Kobe was beyond a basketball player. He impacted lives. He dared to be great.
Rest in Peace, Black Mamba.
That is for sure my man !!!
This guy is really engaged. And Kobe sees that and is giving a great interview. This man is learning and fanning out at the same time
Yea man. Questions aren't generic at all.

Cant believe I'm saying this but he is pretty dern GREAT!
Much respect to Jay Shetty for being in a room with a giant, and showing up in his presence as a giant himself. He’s truly is one of the best interviewers, as he’s able to draw out the true essence of who someone is, regardless of who it is.
Kobe’s such a brilliant man. When he was talking about letting kids be imaginative, that applies to grownups too. When I’m going for jogs I imagine myself as like some warrior that’s training for a war or something like that, getting ready to combat invading forces and like in a training montage with the music I’m listening to, and it just keeps me going and I never saw it as a challenge to use mental tricks to keep myself engaged I just thought I was being a weirdo lol
We should make the military mandatory so everyone gets a little warrior discipline
@@browning_hi_pwr right. the discipline it teaches is key
❤❤
i love this. when i’m on the treadmill i put on runway music playlists and pretend i’m strutting for real. i love being delusional but it helps it not feel like working out
@browning_hi_pwr I totally agree with this. People should have 4 years minimum in the military. Teach discipline, routine, ability to actively think and control themselves
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for this🙏🏼 Rest In Peace Kobe🤍
Death is the ultimate peace
Lo
Kobe is missed, because he chose the hard road and illuminated the path for others, as I try to do. I just can't believe he is gone and the thugs remain.
PS Good 🎶 keep singing to the world 🌎
Is he dead?
Yes this is awesome
Kobe, you're not dead, you are still with us in our minds and hearts.
Pretty sure hes dead bruh. Now someone like Tupac that's a whole mystery
he's super dead
i’ve never heard kobe speak in interviews until today.. i’ve never paid much attention to basketball but i knew he was a good player based on his popularity. and my god.. this was a brilliant man. his purpose here for this world was loud and clear. huge inspiration.
The biggest lesson I learned from his passing was to appreciate greatness while we have them. I spent most of life not liking him bc of sports instead of realizing the caliber of person he was. We lost a great man that day. Rip to every person that was lost that day.
Shit crazy makes you wonder what's really going on he was about to do greater things outside of basketball for society 🤔 smh RIP
You can still hate a player, but not the person
Dude how does this not have way more views
It will
I feel like because this isn’t his last interview
I see this is Jay's podcast channel where video was on his channel.
Cuz everyone’s busy watching Mr Beast fill a house with marshmallows
@@RyanFloom right, funny to see my youtube history switch from gaming to finance/mental health.
The reason its underrated is exactly what they are talking about. His channel is real thoughts and life lessons. Not just trendy stuff, which is a shame people dont appreciate

Kobe was so articulate an very smart and precise on what he was doing to help the world an he was very manocyle on his craft . Legends never die !!!!!
I believe he was never alive and he was an angel sent down to us and he went back home. A higher power just said, "You are coming back and we're bringing Gianna with you to keep you company".
Eternal life is in Christ alone, Legends do die, they are not in control of eternity who the cross of Christ do we find eternal life. All that we accomplish on earth is as filthy rags compared to the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We are only saved by grace, not by our own works or intellect.
Can listen to him speak all day, RIP Kobe
This makes me miss him so much.. as a die hard Toronto fan, I hated that lakers jersey.. especially when he dropped 81 on us. But learning about Kobe the person, really at awe how inspiring he is.
This dude is a great interviewer. And what an honor it had to be in talking to Kobe. I’m glad that his wisdom can live on via the internet
Jay Shetty is a legend all on his own.
Also Kobe’s apology for the rape case lives on the internet

I almost cried when Kobe brought up Gigi... and when Jay Shetty said "You can be mentored by people who aren't alive" and Kobe replied "because their story still lives" 😭😭
One of the best interviews I've watched in awhile. Kobe was one hell of a man and such a wise, inspiration soul. RIP
Yea. Chills when he said her name. Would have never thought they'd both be gone prematurely like this. May his other girls stay resilient in his absence.
Kobe was a genius and he’s definitely left his impression on anyone who’s cared enough to watch one interview of his on or off the court.. true 🐐
I love Kobe but I don't put him on a pedalstal. The probability of being born is roughly 1 in 400 trillion (or more). You are a miracle, an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention. You are the embodiment of magic. They teach us otherwise and we have forgotten how special we really are. Remember your innocence as a baby, remember the unconditional love you held, remember your truth. Live life through this miracle energy and watch your life transform

I love Jay Shetty's way. He's so pure. What an inspiration.
I come back over and over to this episode; one of my all time favorites! RIP Kobe you continue to inspire even when you are not on earth with us!
Following Kobe since he was 17 and see him evolve as a person was incredible. His tenacity and dog mentality on the court is what made him an incredible player, but his wisdom and willingness to be vulnerable and authentic after bball is what made him an incredible person. RIP Mamba
Matt. That is so True about Kobe & the interview - excellent !Host, Jay Shetty, was enthusiastic & damn lucky to have sat beside the greatest legend-Forever Missed & Never will be Forgotten😭😭😭❤✌✌🤲✌
Evolve is not even a big enough word to describe Kobe and yes this dude grew as a human being like no other lol love kobe just lovee

Jay Shetty. You are producing some of the most iconic interviews right now. Straight killing it. I'm getting so much from this interview. Thank you!
I love how excited jay looks at Kobe’s responses ❤️
I keep coming back to this man this don’t even feel like an interview, more of a genuine conversation about real life topics. Rip 24-8❤️
24-8 and 1 rape
Kobe when he spoke it was instant motivation and drive to be come better. He said powerful things we all hear alot, but he said it with that extra emotion and deepness. Kobe is a rare person in life that makes you feel bad about the small stuff you may be going through. There will never be another person like him. I grew up watching his career progress then took soe falls but he got back up, we all saw all the bad and good he did and he handled all the haters in a respectul fashion. Then when he was able to he gave back to the people that were by his side and never doubted him.His fans of his game that never doubted him through negative stories and most importantly his family.RIP Mr Kobe you will forever live on as a legend as an artist of life)

The intelligence that oozes out from this episode is unreal. So many gems. Kobe forever a legend and great man!
Look at Kobe man, so inspirational!
Jay Shetty : "You can be mentored by people that are not alive"
Kobe Bryant : "100%... because their story still live"
This hits a little different after Kobe's passing.

I just watched this again, and truly Kobe’s legacy lives on to everyone who choses to live better after listening to his talks no matter the circle we happen to be in. 🏆
Kobe continues to inspire and motivate. Rest In Peace.
I've been a fan of Kobe my whole life. I think MJ changed the way we look at sports, but for my generation - GOAT is this superhuman. Since him passing away, I've become a lot closer with Kobe's mentality and simply his outlook on life. I live day by day revelling in my professional and personal life based on a simple question when it comes to bringing decisions - what would KOBE do? I am eternally grateful for inspiring me and many more around the world. Legends never die!! 🥂
Great Interview, listened to this at the best time. Found a lot of inspiration from this. RIP KOBE you will always be remembered.
“I love that” jays response to anything Kobe said
Kobe's been my favorite athlete since 1996 when I was 9. I took his passing really tough as I was literally a few miles away working for Amazon in Thousand Oaks, CA when the tragedy happened. It's hard not to tear up as I type this...i just want to thank you Jay Shetty for this episode because the timing of this being in my feed is perfect. The Universe is definitely working and conspiring with these words from Kobe. This is the motivation we all need.

I am listening to this and I know Kobe is not with us, but for a moment, I forgot about that and just beeing inspired by this
Was not expecting this type of conversation with Kobe. Thank you for asking questions that really allowed him to explain his philosophies on everyday life and struggle. Prior to the rapid fire round, you two connected over learning from greats who are not with us anymore. Kobe has joined that hall of mentors and has left us with endless resources of wisdom. Miss you Kobe.

He was a very bright person.... Still sharing and helping others..... Never finished always chasing greatness..... I never met kobe in person sad to say.... But I have learned much from him the last few years..... We are better because Kobe Bryant was here.....
Kobe speaks so calmly and true to the heart, even his posture is so welcoming and this man is Like 6’8. What a beautiful conversation thank you for sharing
You’re so lucky to have met Kobe. May he and Gigi rest in peace ❤️ the death of him and his daughter was so tragic.
Success is only scary when you're afraid to fail. We didn't perfect or learn anything the first attempt. We couldn't walk, talk, wipe our ass the first year's of our lives but we learned thru failing first then realized what works. So what changed that to become successful at anything we think we shouldn't inherit failure? Ego is a killer of progression. Learn from the failure to take steps closer to success.
Well said in 6 sentences
Nobody wants to waste their life… nobody wants to NOT SUCCEED and not be successful, there are certain different obstacles in each persons life and positive thinking isn’t always enough, sometimes people need real tangible help, in order to change their lives…
How blessed are you Jay that you got to have this conversation bro. We never know what tomorrow will bring..
It still hurts that he's no longer here. I truly idolized him and it still feels like I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have while he was here.
Man what he was doing truly inspiring and making a genuine difference in this 🌎 the good ones always go young/first as an LA native he meant everything to me growing up now seeing his impact far more then just from basketball makes me smile miss you Kobe you'll always be in our hearts and you'll always be missed.
A star who keeps shining⭐
I have watched so many videos on Kobe. Huge Lakers fan. This is one of the best interviews i have heard to this point. Not jusr basketball but life.
Thanks Kobe for continuing you lessons in life!!
Very inspiring!!
Man, I wish I listened to this back in the day... Growing up I was tall and fast, they put me at the center and I was great at starting fast breaks, rebounding, and had quick feet so I could finish at the basket. I never developed a shot or handles. My coaches even told me not to work on that, I remember one coach telling me never to shoot outside the paint. Well by High School I stopped growing, I was 6'2" in eighth grade and 6'2" now. No shot, average handles, and done with the game after Freshman year.
What an amazing human being both of u guys are! I regret not realizing what a heavy weight Kobe is some time ago! He is an inspiration and relic people will go back to years to come! Great job Jay for allowing him to devulge who he is and what he became thru his journey!!!
Rest in peace the greatest basketball player and father of all time. Thanks for inspiring me and millions of others.
Everything I'm going through and listen to this message about to make me cry but at the same time it makes me smile because I know the truth deep down in the inside.
Kobe really inspires me. The interviewer is one the best interviewers I've ever seen. This was well done.
Thank you Jay for seeking this version of Kobe ❤️
You can hear this decades down the road and still it will give you a lot of teaching and value. Your imprint of lives will be immeasurable.
I so love this interview. I knew he looked at his sport from massive perspectives all at once; but, I thought I was the only geek who strategically organizes and is driven by how to do everything I get to do! I work with children, and when I begin with my little ladies, they struggle to think about their realities from a more expansive perspective; but within 3 months, they are questioning me more than I once had to question them! This is so excellent! Man, I miss this expansion of your mind, even though this is my first venue into this level of deepness with you. I am so, so, so very grateful for your literary works! They matter to my little ladies, served! We'll have to soak up all you have left for us. May God always be with your family! You'd be so proud of your oldest baby right now...
Great motivator. A full packaged human being in the highest detail in my opinion. I can honestly say that Kobe Bryant brought joy to my life has a huge Laker fan. Hitting those winning shots at the buzzer. 5 Laker titles, even in the losses, I know he gave it his all. Love you brother, #KB24
Kobe you're missed and you were a great man, parent, and mentor. Rest in peace Kobe.
Why was he a GREAT man? He played basketball. He NEVER gave a dime to help his brothers who are on the streets. HE hoarded his vast wealth for HIMSELF. This is NOT a great man. The men who drive ambulances around, especially volunteers, are great.
Jay asked all the right questions. One moment I felt like I was ease dropping in a board room...
other moments I felt like 2 friends were just running it. Great interview!
