Couldn’t stand the brother when he first entered the league. When he fashioned himself after Mike, ugh! But I was the same dude watching MJ footage before I played ball for insight + motivation. Had to dumb down my hater-aid and respect his talent, dedication and mindset. Kobe was a student of the game, who mastered the craft. I was so looking forward to his next stage in life, but appreciate what the man accomplished and left behind.

I am truly humble and blessed to have seen his entire career, but what motivates me even more is not necessarily his basketball ethic, his words of motivation. I wrote a paper in my English 101 class on Kobe and got the only A of my life. I was ready to give up on my journey and just happened to see this at 3:40 in the morning and reminded me not to quit.
