I started a company. I worked 80-106 hours a week. There were times I couldn’t think straight. Failure isn’t an option. Everyone thought I was insane. Now, I am successful. You would be amazed how resilient your body and mind are past 80 hours a week. Now I completely understand boot camp in the military. After my talk to the Young Farmer’s Club last week I was asked who in the world, living or dead, I would like to have dinner with. Growing up my father built 3 businesses. I rarely saw him. He worked all the time. My siblings and I were spoiled however we learned about dedication. He made everything seem so easy. I just didn’t realize how hard it was to him.

I have always felt this way. I started listening to Musk back in the day. I never slept. My mind never shuts off. I invent ideas all day. My body cannot keep up with my mind. It’s very stressful to understand and see things most people don’t. It’s like I am always buzzing on a different wavelength. Sometimes I meet people like myself and we can talk about science, philanthropy, technology, and think tank how to genuinely make the world a better place. It is interwoven in a person. If I am not on track to do this with tenacity- I feel lost. I know almost nothing and can’t stop taking in interest and inspiration from others who have the courage to stand in the light and show us the way. As a 16 year old looking for the path I'm going to take in the next few years, this was very insightful and inspiring. I liked when he mentioned that he treats his company almost like it is his child. I find that statement incredible. Working countless hours is not something I think I would want to do, but I think I may find more joy in that than anything else.

He's a real one, who takes no shortcuts in accomplishing his goals with integrity and passion (unlike too many others...).
It took me a while to figure out how to consistently earn from stocks, but I’ve gotten to learn that a diversified stocks portfolio is key.
