    Awesome jobbing. Great information . Your right , Just because it's a smaller truck , still cost almost the same to operate . Just sold my F800 , picked up a Intl 7400 , DT570 and 10 speed eaton fuller . Wish me luck .

    I’m going to look at a 2000 international 4700 tomorrow morning. I’m planning on starting my own business with it. I will be renting an excavator when I need it and will eventually purchase one. Might as well get a skid loader to.

    Not sure why your tach doesnt work, but if you think it may be a instrument panel issue, most internationals suffer from this, you can have it repaired for about $150 at Circuit Board Medics in south carolina. My 2002 had failing gauges. They fixed it now everything works great.

    Do you operate with a CDL. With the back log at DMV it will be 5 months before I can test for a CDL. I was looking at a single axle International. I’m figuring 5 yards of dirt to stay under 26k. Also do you have to have a DOT #?

    I’m interested in getting into the dump trucking industry and have came across the single axle trucks. If I were to start off by getting my own truck would that be the way to go? I’m planning on keeping my current job, but moving to part time and getting my CDL in June. What’s your recommendations or comments towards this.

    • @drewgardner81
      @drewgardner81  Před 4 lety +6

      I don’t guess there is a secret. I bought my truck because I thought it would come in handy on doing the little dirt work jobs I did, and figured I might could sell a load of topsoil or rock here or there. I paid cash for my truck and got a decent deal on it so I thought, if it didn’t work I’d just sell it. I never dreamed I would be as busy with it as I am. I was surprised at the amount of interest I got with people just wanting small quantities of rock and topsoil. You can do an experiment so to speak on your personal Facebook and see how many people might be interested in small loads of rock and topsoil if you had a dump truck. You can also get on Facebook Marketplace and see if anyone else in your area is doing the same thing. I guess my recommendation would be no debt, or very little debt and a savings account. Just do what you say your going to do when you say your going to do it. Don’t be the cheapest. Lol.
