So I bought a Used Xbox Series S from eBay... we all knew it was coming. And it's not just used... it was the cheapest one I could find. With all of the new consoles out, I knew I had to start getting some used or refurbished ones soon. GameStop doesn't sell them yet, so I had to go with eBay. Check out the video to see what I got! The console has an interesting skin on it... Also note that while this was the cheapest Xbox Series S console on eBay at the time, there are new listings everyday, so there may be a cheaper one when you look.

I know that's the cheapest series s you could find on ebay, but I absolutely refuse to buy a series x or ps5 until both are $500 or less for a pre-owned like they are supposed to be! Scalpers be gone! FOREVER!!!!! I'll only consider buying the disc version ps5 or series x pre-owned at gamestop because they offer an in store 2 year warranty. I'm super picky and most of you should be too. I wish other retailers had better return policies because most are a joke. Walmart, target and everyone only give you 30 days which means you are screwed if you have a problem with your ps5 or series x after a month.

What you failed to realize, is the HDMI cable that was missing was no ordinary cable. It was a High Speed HDMI that cost over $40 to replace. They kept it on purpose, because of its actual value.

If the seller didn’t mention that it didn’t come with the HDMI cable, you could ask them (using eBay messages) about sending it. I’ve bought things in the past and people simply forget about things like that, most people will just send what you what you need for free. Also the HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox is actually really good quality, I would prefer the official HDMI cable vs a cheap HDMI cable.
I would if I didn't have an HDMI cable, but I literally have like 25 extra HDMI cables
@@jrob0021 For the Xbox series X, it is not a standard HDMI cable. It has the HDMI 2.1(ultra high speed) where the S has the HDMI 2.0 (high speed). This allows higher bandwidth to allow 4k/120fps. Hopefully you did not hook it up to a standard HDMI or you will not reach the fps the S is able to reach.

I think for being an all digital console it should have at least 1TB of storage cause some games are huge

Yeah that is seriously the biggest down part of the console, at least most games now is X1 so it is playable from a normal external HDD...

eBay charges tax in some states depending on where the seller lives. So sometimes you buy something and it will add tax to the cost, other times it won’t.

It is obvious why they did this. They bought a Series S not realizing it was a weaker console. So they bought a Series X and sold the S for much more than it was worth knowing some sucker would pay too much for it.
Nah. For $370, the seller sold at break even or a loss. eBay takes 13% and shipping would be at least $20-$30. Also take into consideration that he paid sales tax on that at some point.

There are not many folks who own TVs or monitors that can even take advantage of HDMI 2.1 capabilities tho… and there aren’t many TVs or monitors that support it either.

I already had my Series X and PS5, but managed to get a mint Series S in box with a pair of Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 for $400, deal was too good to pass up.
I've just done the same thing. Bought used for £280 with a second brand new in box controller and a charge pack. Guy bought it to use over Xmas while in lockdown, used it maybe twice and sold it once he went back to work. So I'm well chuffed as I was going to wait till mid year before I got on board with the series x/s. Even got the sales receipt so I have access to the warranty if needed.

@@LiesExposedTR I ended buying one from a friend for $550, which really, would have been the price with taxes. It just ain't worth buying one for like 1.5 the price, which may not seem much on the multiplier but when it's $500, screw that! Very grateful to the homie.

In México the retail price is around 300-340 us dollars and we have a lot of stock also

But the market is such that most scalpers are charging cost for the series s. There's not much profit in scalping the Series s right now. At least in Western markets you're only going to get 300 bucks for it. Maybe $350 or something if it's a day where it's not in stock anywhere. On any given day you can go to GameStop or Target and find one for MSRP.
I'd rather pay $100 above retail than $300-$500.

The hdmi cable that comes with the new console is a bit more expensive than the one you can pick up from Amazon. You probably have one of the more expensive ones laying around anyway.

Yo someone help me out real quick. As a broke man myself who still has a ps4 I’m dealing with low storage as well. The reason I’m bringing that up is cause I’m seeing that most of you don’t like the series s that much cause of the 500gb of storage. If I’m correct, game sizes are different on Xbox compared to playstation, for example a 4gb update for call of duty of playstation can be 20gb on Xbox. For someone like me who only has like 3 games downloaded at a time is the 500gb a big deal? Like I said I usually only have like 3 games downloaded at a time anyway and i usually just delete games if I need space. That’s never been a big deal for me.

In Raw GPU power, sure the XBOX is better than the XSS, but everything else is much better in the XSS, including hardware locked features like Raytracing. Since the machine is sold as a 1080p gaming system, it fits very well where it's at.
Banjo kazooie was out way before the 360 was even thought of. It released on nintendo 64. Its a fantastic game for my generation. Im 34 years old. I can tell your much younger. Banjo tooie is fantastic as well.

I opted for the series s. It still scales up to 4k I can see it on my TV when checking in what resolution the xbox runs on the tv it says 4k so disc are nice because u get often better cheaper deal's on games then digital versions but it isn't such a problem.
I'm pretty sure that just means the consoles outputs at 4K. The only games that actually play at 4K are The Touryst and Ori and the will of the wisps

Excellent backwards compatibility, except there is no disc drive so that feature is basically blown out the window. I want one of these... but I almost want to get the X so I can play old games that I own. I wish there was a way to play your old discs on the series S... I dont care about resolution. I have a PC with a 3080 for my 4k fix. lol Sooo getting a X is a bit overkill for me. Heck My son is still badgering me to get a PS4 so he can play their exclusives. . .

ya know what's funny? sure you may have paid $400 for that xbox but the seller didn't get all that money. A big chunk of that went straight to ebay. If you take away tax, ebay fees and shipping and handling cost the seller probably just broke even at the very most if he didn't lose money on the sale.

Yeah I don't remember if I closed the game in this video or not. Usually my download speeds will be much slower (like under 100Mbps) if I have a game running
