I would definitely be interested to see an Emulation test.
It's really good at emulating Xbox.
@@odius94 too bad you can't use your discs
Modern Vintage Gamer did a great video on its Emulation capabilites and they were top notch.
@@Scbalq the app for emulition is pretty much the same. I think it would work on the older Xbox.
@@yootooooooob I was going to point out the same thing. He did a pretty comprehensive showing of what it’s capable of.
When I worked for Toys R Us the consoles that were "damaged" were more than often having to do with the box or a defect with the controller like the first Switches.
I mean, $320 isn't much more than retail with the sales tax depending on where you are at, so seems like you lucked out.
Yeah it’s really the only reason I got it, I just hate seeing them listed higher even its it before tax.
Microsoft and gamestop have them in stock pretty often, they stay up for a decent amount of time too. It's the ps5 that I doubt I'll own until the end of the year... I refuse to cave and spend $800+ on a console... That's entering light gaming pc prices..
@@Macky4941 light gaming prices are non existent. So glad I picked up a RTX 3070. I want a PS5 to play ps4 games with the upgrades, beyond that I don’t see a reason for new games just yet.
@@Macky4941 light? oh shit i forgot that even msrp on parts are fucked now LET ALONE the scalping, 800 could get you a pretty good one just a few years back if you budgeted smart
What are the chances of big box running on this?
Wouldn't be an eta prime video without megaman. Yes to emulation video and any new development in that regard.
Thank you for the video. I've been hounding for one the last few weeks, then your video reminded me to check ebay today. To my surprise, there's an used xbox series s for 380AUD delivered and taxed. Amazing. Thank you dude.
Been loving your content lately, keep up the good work! (and yes waiting eagerly for an emulation test)
you found a genuine really good person selling a actual series s for not much more than the retail price things like this are so rare it makes me start to think unicorns might be real.
I would definitely be glued to any vids you make on game emulation for Series S... I have both S and X but specifically bought the S as a standalone emulation machine once I enable developer mode
Finally, as always pure gold your videos
Thank you, can't wait for the emulation video. I haven't looked into hacking and frankenstein xboxes since the OG.
Thank you for the advice as far as the new Xbox games keep up the very good work that you always do on everything 😁😃👍👍 fan Jimmy
Looking forward to more videos oh this. I’m actually looking into next gen gaming
Definitely wanna see the emulation performance.
In fact maybe you can do a video on what is the best system at price range of 300 to 400 (including this xbox S of course and other mini PCs) for emulation purposes.
Always been a PlayStation guy, I'm getting one of these.
And emulation test on the series S would be really cool, btw i love your videos keep it up
I’d Love to see a Retroarch test!
yeah, it would be very interesting to see how this thing handles retroarch.
the series x emu test had greater results than i imagined.
Love ya ETA!
You gotta do it man! Like always thx for the dope ass content ✌🏽
Side question off topic, what’s a good step up from the i5-6500. Would really appreciate it. Keep up the good work.
Really happy with my series x and I’m considering getting the series S for the second room. It’s also great for running retroarch! Really wished they had a black version though...
Definitely want to see several emulation tests!
Congrats on your purchase! :)
I lucked out and got mine when walmart put the preorders people didn't pickup out on the floor back at the end of November. Been having a great time with it playing both old and new games.
Refurbished usually means it was defective in some way and made new again. Refurbished items will usually always ship in a blank box. Meaning a box that is not what it comes in retail. But refurbished items 9 times out of 10 come looking like new with all the proper warranty seals in place. A lot of times if the outside of the device is scratched beyond a certain amount they replace the casing. I have bought a number or refurbished phones and projectors and they always come looking new with plastic on the screens, glass and plastics with all warranty seals. But I have also seen a handful of reviews over time saying the device came with a scuffed or scratched surface. So I assume the items those people received were not over the spec for case replacement. But like I said, 9 times out of 10 they will replace the case with new while retaining the original or repaired inside electronics.
Yes please. Emulation next. Keep up the great work.
Yup want to see how it does as an emulation machine
I recently returned a 32” monitor the next day to Walmart because I actually needed a 22” for a digital pinball machine project. The customer service rep tore open the box and pulled out the monitor. I jokingly asked if they would retape up the box and resale as “refurbished”. He said no, they just reopened returns now to make sure people don’t put bricks or switch another item on the return and send the item back to their warehouse. May explain why you didn’t get the box.
There is a limit actually how much the new console can be used in several months, probably refurbished units in 2-3 years time would look worse. but good score! i also own Series S
I saw this video on my subscription feed and I thought that you were TronicsFix 😅 😂
Great video!
Anyway, I have a wild question. Do you think that MiniPC like the ones from MinisForum can be turned into handheld PC?
Yes and no... you'll run into issues if you want to attach a battery. My suggestion (or at least, what i've done so far): try to score an used laptop with decent specs (at times i'm lucky enough to pick up 2nd/3th Gen i5 for as little as €25, sometimes even with discrete graphics, listed as "broken"). Or else try to source replacement/refurbished parts for such, 2nd Gen Ryzen are about to get more popular on that market.
I would like to see an install of PCSX2 tutorial on Retroarch. It has been a pain to get running
Can't wait to see what you can do with Retro Arch on this thing
Retroarch will run on it no problem as I have it on my unit and you will need the UWP retroarch versoin and I have it on the dev mode which has a one time cost...i heard it can maybe be out on the retail side as I have seen some mention of that...this way a dev kit would not be required..but for now it is on the dev mode and I only have ps1 games so far on it and it works awesome and no lag..you will love it I believe as the Xbox is great for this kind of stuff.. 😊
cant wait your next video with "xbox is absolutely beast emulation machine" 😤😋
I always tell people patience is the key to success.I waited for more than a year before i got a killer deal on a 1070 ti.I am not one for consoles thought. If i had to chose a console i would go for the nintendo switch.Only problem is here they cost about the same as an xbox/ps4.
I'd love to see some emulator tests on this mostly GameCube and PS2 I'm considering upgrading from my original Xbox one eventually
At first I thought you were buying a refurbished Xbox One S ! I was like they're still some new at my local BestBuy ... lol !
Yes please, do an emulators video and a full tutorial on how to get it set up with emulators 👍👍👍
I am blown away how small the Xbox S is. This is the first time I have seen the console while someone is holding it and it looks to be slightly larger than a plastic vhs box.
I seen someone compare it to the Nintendo Switch & I was blown away 🤯
Now you know we wanted your emulation test!
I was lucky enough to get a series s in December, it is such a great emulation machine and really performs well considering the price.
PC World in the UK have stopped selling new consoles and 3000 series graphics cards online, you can order one online but you strictly have to collect it from your local store, I bought a 3060 card and my friend bought an X-box X and the girl in the shop said they had plenty of stock which just goes to show its the scalpers that are creating the stock problems
Subbed! Take care!
I bought one of these on launch and returned it to Microsoft because it wasn't 1440p like they advertised and also wasn't (120) fps either which they also advertised. I legit sold my Xbox one and monitor and had purchased a 144hz 1440p monitor for this and it didn't actually work as advertised which was disappointing.
Too bad because it does work. You have to check on AMD website which monitors work right now. 1440p is the target resolution for Series S games. Devs usually don't take advantage of the hardware until after a year. Games that running right now 120fps are Call of duty, Dirt 5, Ori, Falconer,
I wanna see some 3D game racing games from the 90s , ridge racer, rave racer, out runners, Daytona , the Sega and Namco and Konami racers that are so difficult to emulate.
ETA wish I could get pass that stupid bobsled type level on Battletoads. Hope you did my man!
Nice way to get a current-gen console for a similar price to MSRP, as long as it's close to brand new. And yes, emulation test, please, since that will be the whole purpose of the Series S.
Bots are such Killjoys! I'm glad to see this unit working for you.
Would love to see an emulation test on this, especially vs the series X
Can't wait to see the emulation video.
Could you install RetroArch on this and see how the performance is for the latest version?
Yes , you can install homebrew on it if you set it to some kind of developer mode.
It works. Been done
@@N3v2ek You have to pay 19.99 one time fee
I was just on Best Buy yesterday and saw they had these in stock. I didn't pick it up though because I already have the Series X.
I got a Xbox series s for free. The order was running extremely late, FedEx said it was lost/stolen and sent me a letter to send to Walmart. Walmart refunded me and said if it did somehow show up to keep it as a apology on them. Showed up the next morning, still when I check the tracking it says its still in a sorting facility lol.
Can't wait to see your emulation content on this
I'm running a and 1055t got bored wit it til I watched your emulator videos now I turn it on once and a while
I would have want for the Series X! It has a disc drive after all, so I could pick up some used Xbox One games from the local used game shop!
Just got one from bestbuy, can’t wait for an emulator tutorial.
Definitely wanna watch emulation on this! And I need suggestions about my Xbox one X. Ordered XSX and don’t wanna sell my one X. Any good use of it?
YES! Let's install some emulators on this baby! (step by step like you usually do :-)
I would as well like to see what it can emulate. Boy would it be great if it could also run Windows and/or other operating systems.
Highly debating on getting one for emulators. Buying a new PC for just a few steam games isn’t worth my budget. Is there some type of way to install steam games through Dev mode on the S?
its usually hard to find worth in eBay products,Thanks for suggesting.
Pretty interested in seeing a video about its emulation capabilities.
I hope you do a video about that.
Please do, I have a series S also. Would love to see it.
Can't wait to see the emulation of the retro games
Hey you got a video card in that wow. you were able to get one lol
I wonder what color this gen xbox’s ring of death will be? Turquoise? Fuchsia? Or maybe classic Red. Time will tell
Yep. Would like to see emulation tests.
love to see how Wii, GC and PS2 work on the S
My the only one who saves my electronics boxes for as long as I have the thing?
@ETA PRIME
Seriously? Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? LMBO!!
I got really lucky and got a brand new series s for retail price at Target. In store pickup.
What camera or phone are you using to record this bro?
still waiting for the emulation test^^
Please do XiaoMi Mi 10T unboxing and reviewing with HDMi adapter
Emulation test please...I'm looking to add this to my Legends Ultimate Arcade or a comparably priced PC with the same specs
Its a lot smaller than I expected!
I live in France and this console does not sell here. You can find tons of them in any convenient store.
Nice score, but why not play the games on pc instead? (That's assuming you have a decent setup) I can understand a PS5 with the exclusives, but all the good Xbox games are on steam already. 🤔
Where is emulators video? I would also like to see something like emulationstation on it if possible.
Looking forward to watch the emulation testing
I though this was a TronixFix episode for a moment.
Me too. I was a little disappointed.
nice find
Please do a retro arch install tutorial (for Xbox)
I used mine for 3 hours and the rumble motors in the controller were so hot that the controller was hot to the touch, then i check the black exhaust vent and it was spewing red hot air, microsoft says it needs to be returned, i had it for 2 days and it was brand new, not happy
I'm having buyer's remorse on the Intel Skull Canyon I got in December . Even though it came prebuilt w/Win10 Pro , 1 16gb stick of DDR$ memory & a 25ggb M.2 ssd . It cannot run run 4k@60fps YT videos w/o studdering , or support Netflix in 4k HDR ... I might add one more stick of 16gb memory to it & add an external video card to it . I'm already down the rabbit hole on it ...
Btw can u give X on black circle in ventilation??? Maybe looking good 😎😎
I believe it's one of those units that were bought by mistake because of the stupid naming scheme microsoft used. It was probably opened and sent back right away or something
More like the person who bought it was stupid and didn’t check what they were buying 🤦🏻♂️
feeling like a spawn wave video lol .
Looks like a tissue box to me but what would I know.
I checked out of current gen since current gen was the Xbox 360 and Gamecube and PS2.
I game on PC sometimes here and there but most of my gaming is in the form of Steam or
real physical media and titles I know. I'll play the odd android game here and there.
I got a free phat backwards compatible ps3 from guy at work. Said it was sitting in his garage for 6 years and wouldn't start up all I did was reinstall os now it works perfect.
Yes please do the emu on it I’ll be watching
Yeah! Try to add simulators to it!
GameStop: Hold my beer!
The faceplate for the fan makes this think look so bad. Like an 80s AM radio…
Bring on the emulators! :)
I would definitely like to see maybe a Dreamcast game played on Xbox.
That's awesome😄
That was probably a gift for a kid, who actually wanted a Series X
How is it already refurbished? It literally just came out not long ago. I wonder what the reseller considers to be 'refurbished', or if he just thought it sounded better than 'used', or maybe it came in a dinged up box or something.
If ETA is right that it’s a returned item, I’d say that just calling it “barely used return” (or an equivalent but nicer sounding term!) would have been a better description. Assumedly (probably talking out of my ass here) they couldn’t be bothered to distinguish between the different categories (ones where there were actually work carried out, and those which needed barely anything apart from testing ports and checking everything performs as it should)?
