    This is part two of my Trashmaxx Saga! If you haven't seen part one you can follow this link:
    • Used Xmaxx Upgrades Pa...
    In part one I showed all the issues that I had with this Xmaxx if you have a mystery clicking sound that you can't find than you REALLY need to watch it. It could save you a lot of time, money and frustration.
    In this video I show the final results of all the work that myself and Hotrod Pieper have put into this truck. Let me know what you think of the transformation below. Was it worth it? What would you have done differently? Let me know?
    Every part upgraded is listed in the video with part numbers...

    I have the newest version of this truck and have had ZERO issues with anything. Just give them time to work the kinks out brother. It is guys like you that they listen to. Mine outta the box was awesome! I have upgraded a few things to help it out, but it is a MONSTER now!And yes small upgrades,bearings,tires, and rear RPM hubs. That is it.

      Is that a 6S Xmaxx??
      I have the newest 8S X-Maxx too. “Rock N Roll” It is amazing!! I even bought it used. The truck is literally crazy crazy reliable. I love it. It has several upgraded parts already installed from the last owner. No ESC issues at all! Latest firmware is installed too. I love my X-Maxx!!

      @@jjhardie4101 same here. I hit a pine tree doing about 50mph. It cracked a front left hub and knuckle. But the truck drove away just fine and totally unscathed. It was a small tumble the next day that revealed the damage from the pine tree lol. I fixed it for like $12 dollars. And i’ll just make sure I don’t hit pine trees anymore. Front hub, and front steering knuckle. Part# 7732 and 7737 “Both were broken”
      It is a tough ass truck!

    Nice ! - Aluminum mounts for the stock motor stopped mine ( and a buddy's ) from eating stock spur gears - the stock plastic mounts flex when everything heats up.

      @rcworkbench4405  Před 4 lety +2

      Funny you mention that... lol
      I actually have some sitting at home waiting to be installed. I ordered them a few weeks ago but haven't been home to put them in yet. I thought replacing the center chassis would solve the issue but after looking at it closer... you are correct.
      Once that motor gets hot those stock plastic mounts soften and boom goes the spur gear. I did finally get my HR 50t steel gear as well. Sitting right next to my mounts along with some other upgrades...

      Thanks! It wasn't very easy. Lmao
      I had to go through a ton of older video that would match up with the new videos for those comparisons. I always "study" my raw videos as I'm editing them to see how myself and equipment perform tho. So at least I kind of knew where to find them. Next time around I'll probably shoot some before and afters on purpose to make life easier. Lol

    Hi RC Workbench i also bought a used xmaxx and nothing but problems so far. First my tires blown out so i replaced with the same proline tires and now im getting a real load clicking noise in reverse and in forward gear sounds like the noise is in the middle but i turn it on the rear has a lot of power cant hold it in my hand but the front i can hold it at full speed what is my issue thanks in advance and im doing to subscribe to you for more xmaxx stuff also is it worth keeping after everything we put in it.

    • @rcworkbench4405
      @rcworkbench4405  Před 4 lety +3

      Sounds like either the front differential is stripped or possibly the center shaft. Or maybe both.
      Only way to tell is to remove the front diff cover and look for missing teeth on the ring gear. Then you need to inspect the internal splines of the center shaft for wear. When you remove the front diff housing you can remove the pinion gear that is behind it. You should be able to see the inside of the center shaft where the pinion gear sits.
      The center shaft also connects to the center differential. To inspect that you need to remove the center differential completely. There is a coupler that connects the shaft to the center diff. You need to inspect the internal splines of the center shaft there and the internal splines of the center differential.
      Sounds like your problem is in one of those locations. BUT, it could also be inside the front differential housing. You need to remove the ring gear of the front diff and inspect the internal gears. I've had those destroy themselves in the rear. Good luck!
      Tires blow out on the Xmaxx. They blow out on every RC truck with a lot of power. Just the nature of the beast, nothing you can really do about it. Is it worth keeping? Only you can decide that brother. All depends on your willingness and ability to spend money on the truck. The Xmaxx is not a cheap RC to maintain. Sure the stock parts are cheap but many require frequent replacement. Personally I have the money and willingness to continue to maintain and upgrade mine because I enjoy running it so much.

      I dont jump it i like the size of it to go thru grass and speed runs what i meant is it ever going to be a reliable truck i honestly feel like traxxas is a money pit dont get me wrong i enjoy traxxas but i feel like sworkz or tekno seem to be able to take outside more than once before breaking lol sorry for the rant and i appriate you replying back to me i jist want to be able to buy all the parts or know what parts to get to enjoy playing with it more than 10 mins before back to my LHS and get more stuff to hopfully fix it. But ill look into what you said and cross my fingers before all this was happening my son and me hit a car tire about 20 mph and the ftont axle came out i broke the bearing into peices so sould be in the front i would think but unsure if its axle or axle carrier or front diff

    You replaced your esc so you don’t have the TSM of Traxxas anymore.. if you start bashing your truck you must turn TSM off.. when jumping the TSM will try to adjust therefore it went all over the place..
