I own two xmaxx 8s and on my first truck I replaced every suspension part with aluminum and as expected! Something would break almost every time I used it,,, parts are supposed to flex when using and when they are ridged!? They bend!! Plus it slows it down a lot! Compared to my second one it has no issues,, as it is stock and no mods on it... (:
They have some pins with nuts on eBay .i ordered a set to try out. Also ordered rpm hubs for rear. See how they hold up. I just got my x-max only run it once
I thought I wouldnt experience the death of the esc but, its not turning on now and havent even pushed my truck too hard. Now I need to buy one and Ill go with max6 too

I’ve got RPM upper and lower on the rear with the RPM hinge pins and they are great and super strong. I’ve got 1 stock and 1 HD on the front and that holds up perfect as well. I’ve got spare HD arms for the front, but it’ll be forever until I use them probably.
Hmm you mentioned the metal upgrades putting weaker points on other parts. Makes me concerned now because I replaced my arms on my rustler 4x4 vxl to aluminum after a breakage! Love the look but don’t want to break something more expensive you feel me ?? Lol should I pull em and just upgrade to the better plastic And maybe upgrade the hubs instead?? Thanks bro! 🙏🏼👊🏽
The Arms being Metal Could break your Bulkhead or whatever your arms are connected to. I’m not familiar with the Rustler 4x4 but I would pull em off and get some Plastic RPM Arms. If you want to get metal Hubs and Steering Blocks you should because the RPM arms can take it. I have RPM arms and metal hubs and steering blocks on my slash 4x4 VXL and they work perfectly together. Hope you find What Works

Ye no arms is the WORST part to replace to metal mate. Thats gonna kill ur weight and damage everything on your car let alone the spurs with all that weight
I just bought the duratrax lockup and I absolutely love the tires! But the wheels are absolute garbage... I have had them for a Month very light bashing an cracked two allready.... im going to try an find some diff wheels that work with those tires.
Do those atomik hubs use the over sized bearings like the rpm hubs? An I just orderd the m2c chassis brace for the bottom supposedly that thing is amazing! U should check it out
The Atomik hubs do not use an oversized bearing, and I recommend the RPM hubs over them anyways on the rear. I’m keeping the front Atomik and the rear RPM. I haven’t looked at the M2C brace but I’ll check it out. Thanks.

I wish they had made the xmaxx 5 millimeter’s wider on each corner. How’s the servo in the Xmaxx? It looks like it could benefit from a stronger servo. Ok I finished watching the video you did comment on the width. 👍. If they would have just made it 5 mm wider !!!!!
Well now I’ve changed out the Servo for the Traxxas 2085X and it handles fine. Yea the XMaxx could benefit front being wider but I have a feeling it would break a lot more arms if there was a wide kit for it 👍

I’ve got 1 to go in when the Traxxas ESC dies. I have it in my Talion right now but I’m taking it out to go back to 6s for less weight. I think it should be perfect for the XMaxx.
See if the servo saver is loose or broken. Check and see if your Servo horn is stripped. Smell it and see if it smells like burnt electrics. Servos just go out after awhile anyway. The one on mine is on its way out, mine has gotten weak. The bearings could be rusted in the thing or the motor in the servo could be toast. What kind of servo is it?
Sometimes you just get the bad one out of the bunch maybe your steering rates are low and didn’t have that much steering anyway. Look up how to program steering rate on an XMaxx and also your manual tells you how to program it. 👍

The Tires are Duratrax Six Pack X and the Hex Size is 24mm (XMaxx Size) and the Diameter is around 8”-8 1/2” so they are about and inch taller than the Stock Tires. These tires might be Discontinued but Duratrax makes Loads of Tires this Size and they have a Similar Tread Pattern. 😁

The only metal parts I put is HR motor mount, spur gears and pinoin. I use duratrax lockup x 22mm tires belted. Rpm hinge pins 👍

Yea, the wheels are pretty crap. They are too weak around the hex and will crack. I’ve had the same happen on mine. SUBSCRIBE!!!

Alot of people had problems with their stock esc.... thats one of the main reasons people were swapping them out
Wasn’t that just with the 6s XMaxx I know those caught fire. I haven’t really heard too much about the stock 8s ESC’s failing. Sorry if I’m wrong.

Trust me... the Max 6 has LOADS more power. The x maxx esc is like 90 amps and the Max 6 is 160.

Yep you are right. The stock servo only lasted 9 months or so for me and I had to upgrade to the 2085X.
