    I am making this video in hopes that it helps someone else in installing this upgrade to their X-Maxx. The steering response is so much better now and it actually turns sharper too. I think the stronger servo is preventing the truck from "pushing" through the turn. The Pro-Line tires coming in the mail soon will also help! :)

    Quick note. I realize there is a weird part in the video where it seems like it should have been cut out. That is because I was supposed to delete that segment and I accidentally deleted the segment that tells you to remove the steering link screw before pulling the front module off. Just remember to do that. You’ll figure it out if you missed this comment. Lol!

    I’m glad I read the comments. I was curious about all the HR aluminum parts. I find the plastic often works better and it’s so much cheaper to replace. It seems w the aluminum of one piece breaks it all shatters. I’m not sure which servo to upgrade to? Are you happy w Traxxas’ upgraded one? I put a Reefs 5 in my E revo after the crappy 2 servo system broke. But I’m not sure there’s a reeds that I can put in the XMAXX? They seem to make such good servos!!! It changed my E Revo completely! I took it all the way down and added the metal drive shafts upgraded the center and rear diffs and that thing flies! I’m going to add a silicone ear plug to the center diff in my XMAXX and higher rear diff fluid. I’ll do the upgrade in the servo at the same time up up the diffs and install the higher gearing. Thoughts on servo? Thanks for the great walk through and how to!!! I’m subbing now!

    • @GoKaioken
      @GoKaioken  Před 4 lety +1

      The me for the sub! I have used the Traxxas upgraded servo ever since and no issues at all. Also I agree with the plastic. I would go upgraded servo, aluminum servo horn, because the plastic one would still break, but plastic the rest of the way to the wheels. This will ensure if you have a bad wreck that you are most likely to break a $9 steering arm than anything else. Take care!

      Joshua Esposito thanks brother. Also, why are a lot of guys upgrading to the Max 6 esc or the Castle Monster X w 800KV. Does t Castle make the esc for Traxxas? I just bought my first XMAXX and love it but know it needs a few upgrades. Do you know why many of the guys are switching the the Hobbywing or Castle Combos? Do they add power and speed? Thanks again jj

    • @GoKaioken
      @GoKaioken  Před 4 lety +1

      I’m not sure if castle makes the Traxxas ESC or not but a lot of guys swap out for more speed. I got the Max6 only and kept the stock motor and I personally do not recommend it. I later did a Castle Mamba Monster X 8S and an 800kv motor and it’s AWESOME! It’s one of my more recent videos if you want to check it out.

    • @GoKaioken
      @GoKaioken  Před rokem

      It’s the tie rods then. Make sure that the wheels aren’t pointed too far away from each other or too far towards each other. Try to adjust them so the wheels are as straight as possible. Just to double check, are you using the Traxxas remote?

    Hey man, I just broke one of the black plastic steering parts that attaches to the toe bar and wraps around some rollers in between both chassis pieces. Any idea how to get at them? It’s broke in half where it is supposed to be around them rollers or whatever they are. My truck now whines really high pitch and sounds like it’s slipping cuz none of the diffs or gears move. I’m being told it might be my slipper gear and or spur. I launched my Xmaxx off a skate park ramp probably 10 ft or higher vertically and it slammed into the ground nose first. Thanks

    • @GoKaioken
      @GoKaioken  Před 5 lety

      Wow that sounds like quite a wreck! It’s tough to imagine exactly which part you’re talking about but if you taking apart the front module you should be able to get to it.

    What’s the point for getting a new servo?

    • @GoKaioken

    I read that the aluminum steering is hard on the servo, any truth to that?

    • @GoKaioken
      @GoKaioken  Před 4 lety +1

      The servo saver should help with that, but the physics makes sense. More of the energy from the tires are being transferred more easily through the aluminum all the way to the servo. Due to this I’ve actually reverted back the stock plastic.
