My last RC was 37 years ago. Just picked up an XMaxx for my daughter and me. Trying to learn as much as I can before running it. Great video, thanks for posting.
Thank you so much for tuning in😊🇺🇸🤘🏼❤️
Awesome!! WD silicon seems to be the best stuff to use. Wash, rinse, air, WD and wipe down. And some 1 UP clear on the bearings. Is the best way. For those worried about bearings
This is my favorite YT format. Calm and conversational.
@Ben Schoemann.... I thank you for watching and also for the kind words 😊
I like his style. Not screaming at me or acting like a tweaker! Love the channel
Thanks man! That means a lot! And goes a long ways! I appreciate your support 💯🤙
Agreed my friend!
Hi great job! Do you have an alternative for the air compressor at the end?
Just got into the hobby and this video helped me out a lot! Preciate it brotha!
Love this guy he’s not yelling at the camera like other people 😂😂 and the things he says is just so helpful 😊 keep it up man. And you got a new sub.👌
I love it when you get it all clean, 8:16 looks like a brand new! ... great video friend!
Thank you so much for watching! I love having my rc rigs clean. They cost a lot so you really have to take care of them
I watched this, the next morning I went and got the supplies and it worked soooooo good it looks brand new🤣 I sprayed the simple green, let it sit for 15 minutes, rinsed it off well then I covered everything with a thin layer of wd40, let that sit for about 30 minutes to kinda let it soak in then I just blow dried it, went over it with a rag and omg it’s crazy how good it come out
I use close to the same technique. I use the exhaust end of a shop vac to blow it dry. More air flow, faster results. I used silicone spray at the end as well and wipe it down. Dirt comes off easier after next session.
Good tips man. Thumbs up.
Thank you for tuning in 😊 I actually started using silicone spray as well. And now only use the WD40 on the axles. Thank you for the comment as it helps me out glom the algorithm 💯🥰🤘🏼
this guy looks cool and honest , i like his style and attitude .
Hey there! Thanks for tuning in, much appreciated and definitely appreciate the kind words💯🤘🏼
Missed a spot......right there..... Hahaha. Luv the music and birds in the background! Newbie.....just washed my Kraton 8s and good to see hosing it down is ok!!! SMASH!
Yeah I basically do the same thing. My last step is I spray it down with LPS1 oil and set it out in the sun for a bit. It looks brand new after that. LPS1 is good for oil guns too so that’s a plus. 💪🏻
Heck yeah brother! Its a good one huh! Rc can be a pain to keep clean sometimes, so i use this quick effective method most of the time.
I clean mine very similar. If you've done your RC right,it's all waterproof. I use quick dry electric parts cleaner after water, before WD-40. Get into fans and motor, even most brushless are waterproof and sealed too. Keep it clean to keep it running good!
Thanks for the lesson. I did my first cleaning with just wd40 and a air compressor but now I'm going to use simple green first. Subscribed!
You’re welcome! And thank you for watching and subscribing 💯🤙
This method has worked for me and lots of others i assume for long time🙂
@@pnwRCMADNESS there's nothing that will rust or will be needed to be lubricated at all ??? After washing it with simple green and mainly the HOSE SPRAYING IT WITH WATER !!!!!???????
I KNOW THATS HOW EVERYONE DOES IT BUT JUST CURIOUS ???
Good video man, I clean my exactly the same way
Love the channel! Keep up the good work. Got a solid supporter here. Thx for sharing! -KruseN Stuff-
Thank you!! Just out having fun! I appreciate you supporting my channel as well!!
👍👍
Seems about right,i use the same techniques to.good job bud, keep having r.c. fun 👍👍👍
Aweosme! And thank you Radio Controlled productions for watching, ill be back at it once my broken ankle heals up!
Thank u so much. I have a traxxas stampede 4x4 and I did this and another technique together and it looks like new and it's like 2 years old and seen mud almost everytime I've ran it. 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for the positive comment🤘🏼👌 world needs more of it
Mate great idea, but I would do the simple green first then spray off with water then hit with air gun then do wd40 because wd40 actually dries and then it will get any water left if you miss any and lubricate at the same time. Just my process, hope that helps.
Nice work man. I know this truck as well took the whole thing apart 3 times. Hours of wrenching but worth it lol!
Thank you Zach, Much love bro!!
I’m a bit late to the show but iv just got a 8s, and was hope there was something on CZcams for maintenance. So happy day mate thanks a lot.
Glad I could help!!!🤘🏼💯
Looks great. Not real sure about the water.LOL!!! I use awsome apc works good.Love the video.Stay Safe Stay Healthy.
Thank you! I understand, I used to say the same thing🤣. But I drive them so much constantly taking them all apart would take for ever. I actually do take them completely apart after 5 or so runs. The water cleans it quick and wd40 keeps rust off the screwS. Another thing you could use would be an 18v blower. Like makita or dewalt. Black and decker.. thank you so much for watching! Stay safe too bud💯🤘🏼
Thanks for the video, super helpful!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching 😄
hey dude, i just recently bought my first slash and i got a tiny bit of mud on it. it's now dry and brittle dirt which would prolly come off easy with air, but i was wondering if it's appropriate to oil steel parts n what not even if it's like just 2 weeks old? i'm honestly new to all of this and don't wanna mess up anything already😅. also, do you agree on venting the tire foams from the outside? i see a lot of people say water will ruin your foams🤷♂️
That was great glad you made this I needed to see how because I've never cleaned any of mine RcFam4Life respect 💯💪🏾✊🏾🤜🏾🤛🏾
Bro! Here in Washington we get lots of rain... it kind of stinks because all the moisture and rust. But it works good dontay!! Happy you liked the vid..

Learning this new stuff is fun and challenging
@@pnwRCMADNESS yes it is I definitely went through long nights learning and still is
I do the same thing but I blow the water off before using WD. I forget where I got it but I got a bearing greaser from a fishing reel rebuilder and I regrease the axle bearings once a month or so.
I don’t run my trucks in water (unless it’s raining) or mud so I just blow them off with compressed air.
I don’t usually either. But I will blast it with a hose. To clean it 😊 thanks for tuning g in
Voice of an angel!
I’m new to the sport and I appreciate your video. Thanks
You’re very welcome! Thank you for tuning in💯🤘🏼
I clean my x maxx the same way I just don't have that green stuff the you put it on it but for all of the rest I do the same way bro try to get all the bearings whit some wd 40 for the corrosion dude cool video🤘🤙🖐👍👍
I love how he called that dirty 🤣 Me with my truck all brown
what do you think i should go with on front for LED light bar in bumper., X MAXX THANKS
The one too me that sounds more voodoo is spraying down the chassis with WD40 to make it more flexible.
Hey I just found your channel, and I'm the same way. I take care of everything that I have. I also have an X-maxx that I've had for about a year now. Not only does the wd40 help lubricate everything, but it also helps in the cleaning process after as well!
Hey this is a good vid that's the way I clean my Arrma Cars also but I use oxygen Orange from the dollar store to clean but Simple Green will work also and then I would dry it off with a air blower then spray it with WD-40 on the A-Arms and some of the Plastics that are there but I use mo-94 so you can spread out on the bearings also put WD-40 on the on the Plastics if I have only WD-40 then lubricate the bearings with some R.C bearing lubrication but WD-40 or mo-94 will give the Plastics more tensile strength and more stronger to bash it around.😉👍👍👍
Hey thanks brother! For watching and also the tips!!💯 I will definitely check out some mo-94. Also the dollar store for the oxygen orange.
I found your channel and i watched this. I am now going to buy a rc buddy.. nice vid..
@Ronald Vision- thank you for tuning in!! I appreciate the support on the channel.. I’m also glad that I could help you out.. Rc cars are really fun and the Rc community is a good one to be in. Safe and good family fun as well.

Great video brother
Awesome video man!
your calm tone got a subscribe mate.. also. so its totally ok hosing the car down as long as you dry it off with the air pressure after right? just making sure. i spent a 1000 euros for one and im waiting for it atm
Nice vid bud. Didn't get the WD40 part though - what does it actually do when you spray it on top of th water? it helps the air hose do it's job better??
I used simply green too before I watched this video, glad I wasn't wrong lol
My wash i used for years and works great 16ounces simple green 6 ounces of denatured alcohol and 2 cap fulls of wd40 and spray it down all parts and then air compressor and shines it dries and cures it ..and don't dry the seals or bearings but dries out the water from electronics..looks new again..
Cool video. Appreciate it.
Thanks brother!! Glad I could help! I’ve got a new one coming out soon. A little different processes and I’ll explain in detail
Really good video! Helped me a lot👍
Thank you!! I appreciate that, and I’m glad I could help😀
I just subbed you. I’m waiting for my new XMaxx 8s to arrive. I’ve been an Arrma guy for a while. Where about in the PNW are you at? I spent 10 years south of Portland, OR and another 9 years in Wenatchee, WA. Thanks for your video. It will be helpful in the future for me.
Thank you so much brother for tuning in!! You’ll love the xmaxx a lot. I’m in Puyallup. Been here all my life. Thank you so much for subscribing as well!! Have a good day brother and stay used with the bell button💯🤜🏻🤛🏻
SC1 spray works great too. After you clean it, Spray it down with SC1. MUD won't stick to it. Its made for plastics on motocross bikes/quads
Thanks for watching bud ! Lol I actually have another vid out and that’s my new routine...using the sc1
@@pnwRCMADNESS It's definitely good stuff!
Smells good too
@@danielwortham5010 YES, THATS WHAT I ALWAYS USE SC1. SMELLS GREAT!
Excellent video! I think I’m missing the part where you put simple green on. Been having trouble cleaning my trucks. Thanks! WD is water displacement. It’s the 40th attempt at the formula. That’s why it has that name. Was designed for aerospace industry to protect missiles from rust and corrosion.
Hey thank you!! I appreciate that and also the little bit of knowledge about the WD. Learn something new every day
Good jobby job bro.
Thank you, although I do have an all new process. Using the COWRC products has taken my rc maintenance to the next level of clean

Scott Mclinden, thank you for tuning in most of all. I’m happy to have helped out
Nice video my brodaaa, I'm planning on getting one,I'm just looking everything I have to change before I get it..cause I seem videos and they said some parts is better to change asap cause the motor is so powerful that it brake the factory part..
Thank you for watching brother!! Stock the Xmaxx is best. I’ve had a fully upgraded one and have more fun with my stock one. Sold all the stuff except the hobbywing max6
@@pnwRCMADNESS i don't know if I should get the xmaxx or the kraton, cause I have seen a lot of videos and everyone say they have to change some part because it will brakes. I have like 6 parts that need to be changed to be in the safe side. But I don't see people talking like that about the kraton!!!so I'm thinking cause they are both about the same price, and I don't hear anyone complaining about the kraton!!what you think????

I like my RC’s clean all the time, I’m going to try the WD40 thanks for the advice brother
Wd40 is amazing. I buy it in bulk. It is amazing product. Makes it look new and also allows plastics to have additional flex. I've jumped my xmaxx over 70 feet 40 times and haven't broke anything
No problem brother!! Thank you for watching as well!!
I use a cleaner, wd40, an old toothbrush, and rags. Usually I take off the wheels and scrub/oil the wheel bearings.
I don't have an air compressor so I do everything by hand.
Thank you for tuning in!! Sound like you have a good system down that works well too

Had to clean the xmaxx after watching this!
Great video
Thank you!!
when using compressed air be careful around fans spinning them past the rpm they operate at can damage them and cause them to stop working. other than that this is same method i have used for over 25 years and never an issue ...great video awesome rc ...
WD-40 can actually make bearings worse, after the using it use the white lithium spray, or silicone lubricant made by WD-40. WD-40 is more of a solvent than a lubricant.
Thank you for watching! I have since started to use that product as well. I use the wd40 to keep the rust out. In general the bearing are already wet so I just want them not to ceize.
Hopeful I find better results with the silicone spray instead
Agree Nicholas……bearings like lithium grease or marine grease, which is especially effective against water. I clean my rigs the same way as this video otherwise…..
can a kraton v4 get sprayed with hose? i dont want anything getting damaged. great video btw !
Oh yeah! Just be careful of blasting the water around the electrical stuff. Thank you very much. Please share this video 😎
I do mine the same way but personally i like to dry mine with an air compressor before i put wd40 on and i use the air compressor to blow the wd40 off,
We are twins lol. I enjoy cleaning my maxx. Good thing because it takes as long to clean it as I spend bashing the hell out of it.
Nice! Takes time to clean these pigs 🤙💯🤜🏻🤛🏻
I wish I had a way to record the cleaning I'm about to do. My son and friend decided to take both the x maxxs through huge puddles yesterday. Both are covered in mud. Super dirty. I might b sleeping on the couch, cuz they are going in the tub to get scrubbed while the ol lady is gone.
I would assume you can clean all traxxas cars like this? I have an xmaxx 8s but also a slash and rustler.
Hello! And thanks for tuning in.....yep ! All new Traxxas Rc cars are waterproof. I wouldn’t go driving through a river or submerge it but it can for surely handle a hose to wash them off
I just got a redcat blackout sc. would this process work the same on it? Or is a redcat not as waterproofed as a traxxas? Thanks!
Honestly I’m not sure. But I’m sure if it says waterproof you’ll be ok most definitely.. thanks for tuning in!!
@@pnwRCMADNESS thanks!! Love the videos!!
Your use of simple green seemed a bit excessive & why did you spray it down with the water after the WD-40?
He doesn't spray it down with water after the WD-40 . At 4:40 listen to what he says he corrects himself his steps are Simple Green then spray it down with water then WD-40 then last hosing it down with air
@@95turbostang21 but then he hosed it again after the wd

Aces on the go! Thanks brother for stopping by and subscribing! RCfam4life! The wd is use really for the shine and keeping rust out of the screw heads. Its my OCD. LOL! I dont want it in the bearings though.
Subbbe back bro!
So what is the point of the wd40?
If you really need your off road toy to be sparkly clean, that often, go for it. But for those who just want it to keep working well so they can enjoy GETTING it dirty, don’t clean it like this. Exterior dirtiness doesn’t hurt your xmaxx and areas that are important to keep clean need a little more care than just spraying it with chemicals and water then blowing it off with air. Btw compressed air can blow debris into places it wouldn’t have otherwise gotten into. It’s a no-no in my industry to clean off machines with air compressors.
The xmaxx dust covers that cost $15 work GREAT if you’re smart enough to put it on right.
If you get your xmaxx real muddy and actually need to clean it off, do it with care and sense. Be willing to take a few things apart and not just treat the entire machine the same. Take the time to let it dry thoroughly before powering it up again.
I clean when I do repairs or rebuilds and I just focus on the area I’m working on.
I drive through everything and not much clings to my truck. If you’re jumping it 20’ into the air not much stays stuck to it so maybe jump more and clean less.
I appreciate you tuning into my channel. I'm super ocd about keeping my rigs clean. I clean them like this maybe 2-3 times and then I tear it completely down. I just don't like dirt or grease on my pit table so I do my best to help others keep their rigs clean. Thank you again for watching and your feedback as well. It's appreciated
Thanks for making RC videos. Let’s see some hydroplaning across water and huge jumps!
I just got my traxxas maxx, and wanted to know if I can clean it the same way. Cause I keep hearing that if water gets in the tires it will have the truck off balanced .Then I hear using wd40 will mess the bearings up. So any advice on that
Hi!! Thank you so much for tuning in. Also please subscribe! I have never had a tire explode or be ruined from water or really anything. Besides maybe coming unglued.
I feel if you drive your car in water you’ll definitely ruin your foams. I don’t drive in water though. The little bit of house water I focus on lightly spraying.
And for the. Wd40, yep. Not good for bearing but neither is water. So for me I use it to soften plastic parts and also keeps rust out of screw caps
Thanks very much. I appreciate your advise, and I'm already subscribed
Thank you for the video ! I just got my traxxas x maxx ! I’m going to do this ... I also have the traxxas maxx can I do the same cleaning on it ? Thank you and I subscribed
You are welcome! Thank you for tuning in! And subscribing!!💯🤘🏼 and yes sir, you can clean your Maxx the exact same way! Happy bashing
pnw RC MADNESS thank you !
I have a question, how the Bearings not Rusters and Destroyed after alot of washes?
I only wash my truck like this when it gets muddy. In the summer I don’t wash as much and just blow and brush the dirt off. When I’m done cleaning the truck I make sure to spray compressed air in all the bearing carries, and re lube with a squirt of wd40. Just so it doesn’t rust. And then every so many tear downs I replace certain parts and bearings to keep it fresh. Hope this helps💯🤙
Please subscribe brother!!
Why not use a small leaf blower to dry it off? Would be much quicker.
Dude I saw you at remote control hobbies the other day off Halsey
Lol! Hey thank you for watching! Unfortunately it wasn’t me though 🤷♂️🎅🏻
Im in pnw- in Battle Ground WA/ do you know any good spots to bash or even run thats fun?
Awesome! I usually bash at the bike track in Orting or there are a few other places I go to have fun. We also have rc meets about once a month.
what if its cold out and what to use to clean metal parts thats not stinky like wd40 inside
thanks for any recommendations
Hello and thank you for tuning in...When it’s super cold I don’t wash it out side. I’ll break down the entire truck and wash it in a mop sink inside where it’s warmer
I got you bro.

Do I have to take off the fans from maxx to wash the truck
No sir
Hey on question thats really no Problem to Wash the Whole car with water ? I Would be scared that anithing goes damaged by Electronic
I would protect the electrical stuff and not blast them with water. water will not ruin in moderation I only worry about the chemicals
It was very helpful !!!
Hi guys!
Can I wash my E-revo with water/hose?
Does it make any damage in my car?
Yes you can! Even though the Traxxas electronics are water proof i myself still don’t get them intentionally soaked! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the tips!😄
Not if it a 1st gen with the mamba system, it isn't waterproof
What do you do in the winter?
@james pro- I use the same method always. And now have actually use a different product. Looks good. What do u use the SC1 on?
Hello and thanks for tuning in, sorry for the late reply as sometimes CZcams doesn't alert me of my comments i receive. I use the SC1 silicone spray very last. It helps keep the plastic more clean for future use. It helps with the dirt and the mud not sticking as well and it also gives the plastic a nice shine. I use it all over the truck spray it on let it set then buff it off and it has a waxy like feeling when done. And it smells really good also!!
Thank you
Only thing is I’ll have to use dust cleaner in a can i do have a compressor
Thanks for tuning in!! That will work great except it will cost a lot to buy them every time you clean it
How do you like the SC1? I use it. Do you?
I love Sc1! I use it on my race rigs mainly, it really shines them up. I also spray my entire chassis and suspension parts with it. Basically my entire car. The silicon helps reflect dirt for a bit
Question I can pretty much clean my Traxxas e revo the same way ?
@Mr Speed 52608 yea sir!! And thank you for watching. Check out my Other cleaning vids on my channel. I have a few different rigs. 🤘🏼💯
pnw RC MADNESS thank you sir I sure will I subbed to your channel
I thought WD-40 is not a lubricant ? Therefore it shouldn’t be used on bearings
I use WD-40 to keep rust off my screws and out of the bearings the best I can. I don’t use it o lubricate. I maintain them frequently so by that I mean replacing or cleaning bearings. Wd works well for rust mainly
@@pnwRCMADNESS I experimented with a bunch of different products for a couple months and my current favorite is:
Before I go out driving, I spray all wheel and diff/cup/dogbone related bearings with some Silicone spray, then when I get home I will follow your process and if it was raining out or muddy I’ll apply WD-40. If it’s sunny and dry, I will clean the car and apply another coat of Silicone before putting away. I’ve found all my cars run and free roll so nicely after pampering like this.
The silicone spray I use is Liquid Wrench Part Number M914, but I’ve also used the WD brand of silicone spray with equal results.
Great video!
@@pants7241 Will this silicone spray also decrease the amount of dirt/mud sticking to other parts of the car? You mentioned applying to wheel and other mechanical parts.
For someone that doesn’t have a air compressor. What’s my next best option?
Hi! If you don’t have a compressor the next best thing would be possibly a small blower. Like a makita or a dewalt. If you don’t have any of those then a towel and rags will do it just add mores time. Then maybe i would also spray wd40 really well on the screw caps to keep from rusting and the pin areas. Also after a few wet runs take your entire rc apart for full maintenance rebuild
pnw RC MADNESS this is what I was about to ask , I have a arrma talion v3 , and I don’t have a blower but I have plenty of microfibers , but you said once I’m down wiping it down give it another round of wd40 lightly around the screws and pins and what not ?? Thank you !!
Does it make the bolts rust?
Thank you for tuning in to my channel. I use the wd40 so that the bolts wont rust. If i miss any water while drying it with the compressor
Yup wd-40 or aka dubd lol water dispersal and it took 40 tries to get it right. Made with fish oil I use that shit on everything lol. But yes been using it for years on rc and my truck frame in the winter.
Nice brother!! Thank you for tuning in! Think I’ll start using silicone wd
I coated mine in a ceramic coat really helps not let any thing stick to it lol
That’s awesome bud!! Which stuff did you use? And thanks so much for tuning in🤘🏼🤘🏼💯💯
