- A Richmond, B.C., man has won the first-ever Gold Ball Jackpot prize in the province, taking home a whopping $58 million.
The BC Lottery Corporation announced Hao Ping Chung won the massive prize on Friday.
Chung said his parents at first believed their son was being scammed.
“They were surprised and asked if it was a scam," he said.

A lot of young people play lottery in China 🇨🇳.
Playing lottery in China may give them some hope under the hopeless regime.
I do wonder how the Chinese citizens experience the CCP. I wonder if they say the same things as Canadians "your freedoms aren't being taken away, stop whining and do what you're told" "if you have done nothing wrong you'll have nothing to hide" "capitalism is evil"
With UBI, CBDCs and 15 minute cities around the corner it will be increasingly necessary to implement a social credit score to control inefficiency. Then of course there's climate change with CBDCs having the ability to limit spending to help the environment; annual flight caps, a cap on meat products. Even the carbon tax wouldn't be so harmful to us at the bottom of the socioeconomic scale if we could afford to switch to the alternatives. I rent a house in Nova Scotia that is LPG gas. After April 1st it will cost $800 to fill a tank so my house has been 12 degrees all winter, we moved our living room into our bedroom and cling to a walmart heater. This is what the first year of business looks like for a young entrepreneur. We built our business to $6000 revenue per month in 6 months but it's not enough to live comfortably. This country is steering it's citizens away from business ownership. Is the goal to have everyone working corporate where initiatives likes ESG force corporations to adopt far left morality to be eligible for financing through the large institutions. Where their workers are forced to sit through equality of outcome indoctrination meetings. We hang rainbow flags in shops built on stolen land yet no first nations flags. We give special financial incentives to the rich white kids who through sexual preference have opted out of the gene pool.
Wake up and see the linear progression towards the very same regime.
