Since I took this job at Steak ‘n Shake a year ago and got sober I have truly learned to be a people person by just trying when it came to customer service. I have become our best customer service person we have and was even promoted to customer service trainer before management. Been here for over a year now. In the beginning I thought I was above it and wanted bigger and better but learned to associate myself with the people I worked with, with the customers and see we are all just human beings trying to make it in life in some way. It takes effort but I learned to be kind, patient, and hardworking through the many 50+ hour weeks of working here. Will forever be thankful. I’ve finally learned to be a responsible young man. In 2017 I was bedridden with actual paralysis from my chest down trying to recover from having 13 vertebrae bolted together T4 to L2 with acute chronic pain along with 11 years r taking fentanyl and oxycodone. My first challenge was to just move my toes which took over a year to see results then it was practicing standing with a walker and another year of practicing. 1% improvement was my goal, roughly 1% per month with extreme efforts to see. Fast forward since then, I’m past 4 years of no fentanyl or any opiates,I now travel the western states with my dog Tigger in our bus motorhome. We walk everyday and our record is 3.5 miles in a day. The way out of depression, pain and hopelessness is consistently pursue 1% improvement and the feeling of reaching 2% is likely to be your favorite feeling of self respect and accomplishment 🙏♥️💪🐕🚌

I literally watch this episode every time I'm feeling overwhelmed by life, by my career (or whatever you call my attempt at building a business), by the heaviness of being such an overthinking person with many tragedies playing themselves out simultaneously... And somehow I've missed the bit about Stephen King until this evening! I have a small library in my room with a lot of philosophy, psychology, some mentally challenging literature (including Dr. Peterson), but the largest collection devoted to a single author in my collection is by FAR Stephen King. I am continuously finding new synchronicities that encourage my faith that I'm on a harmonious path with my purpose. Who knows if that'll turn out to be silly in the end. Kudos to you both for this high-level dialogue, and the mental synchronization. TEXAS PROUD :) Bless you both, man. Sincerely.

If you've never done a live video, then you can't understand for one second what that is. And this man isn't doing a video, he's a living, breathing, human who thought about what he wanted to say to humans, who paid to hear him speak. The fact that he's not running off a script, but giving a literal piece of his soul to the people who paid to listen to him, just crazy. You go to a concert, these people are singing songs OVER AND OVER again, and that is beautiful, now imagine someone bearing their soul to you on the fly...I'm so excited by that.

I LOVE watching jordon Peterson when he relaxes and sits back and has a discussion with someone like Lex. Jordon has put himself, every part of himself, out there on the chopping block, allowing us to witness him deal with his emotions, the same emotions that most of us have but keep hidden, for good reason. Seeing someone who has led a righteous life with morals and dignity and love for his fellow human being experiencing some of the same sadness a lot of us have for whatever reason has only helped us believe that maybe we’re not the only ones that feel just f’ed up and that something must b wrong with me (us) and maybe we brought these feelings upon ourselves and how pathetic we must be with very little hope of experiencing anything happy and good anymore. It’s a bad place to be…but him exposing himself has been enough for me at least to really believe that the good times really aren’t over for good…we make our lives the way they are on a daily basis, and all it takes is to wake up on any given day and tell urself that this day is gonna b different. Better. When those negative thoughts are fighting to get out, u tell them to F off and purposely say something positive to counteract it and move past it and stay busy. Tomorrow will b easier to do what u did today. And I keep at it. His critics would never put themselves out there like he does, and that’s why we all love and respect the man, IMO.

The resentment Ive had for society as a whole has gotten the better of me. I want to talk to Jordan Bernt Peterson. And ask him why I shouldn't want to kill my whole family random women. Random men. Why I shouldn't resent and keep developing this righteous malevolence because of what has happened to me. I need a good reason to not go out in an explosive way like Jordan Bernt Peterson said don't do it but I can't not do it. Im past being capable of not thinking about it. I have to think about it all the time. I'm inherently obsessed with sadism nihilism hedonism sadness depression malevolence sexual gore everything immoral and reprehensible. I've also masturbated to that stuff in a sexual way you'd want to kill yourself to and go out with a bang. What society did to me is always blamed on males not even white anymore only males and that's why there's mentally ill males who think they're females. Those males are disllosuoned with masculinity and what if means to be a true man. I've masturbated to sexual images so deplorable I don't understand how why shouldn't I kill innocent people who made my pshycopathy possible. I don't understand why they can't take responsibility. And then wonder why boys shoot up schools churches and concerts mass gatherings of humans. I would slaughter them all too but I don't know why but now that I'm not an innocent little boy I can't simply live as if nothing hasnt happened with the world. So I need to send a message to the bastard Rockefellers who supported feminism. And made males feminine by food contaminating water and everything socially. I'm Hispanic. I want to meet Jordan how that one Hispanic kid met Jordan and Tammy. Jordan helped that hispanic young man with the broken relationship with his father. I want the same restoration. But I think it's impossible. I'm an unjustifiable ticking time waiting to explode I'm so unforgiving.

I used to be so depressed that I could not get out of bed in the morning. I would open my eyes and I'd be absolutely frustrated to be spending another day as me.
What helped me personally was landing a job at a gas station. Not only did it give me purpose and structure, but handling customers came easy to me because I'm a naturally nice person so to say. Having those positive interactions with customers everyday ontop of gaining structure and an income, was what pulled me out.
Now that's not to say that I was immediately "healed", there were times and scenarios that threw me back down the hole.
What finally helped me get over depression completely, was questioning life. They very thing I thought I did every day during my depressed state. But I realized that's only half the story. I was questioning the point of everything, and found there was none. Fair enough. But I was still always clinging to the idea that that was somehow negative. That I have to have purpose and goals or else I will be unhappy. Or in other words "I can't be happy until this or that".
When that is your philosophy, don't except to ever be happy. Ever since realizing that I started to react to things and situations differently. Because I understand that it's fundamentally my choice wether to react to something positively or negatively.
We're going around reacting to everything, either positively or negatively. Then we try and force our life to only include the things that we react positively towards. Go figure.
Our lives don't need fixing, it's our attitudes.
Knowledge is gained by adding onto what you already know
Wisdom is gained by questioning what you know

That's so true don't expect to be happy until this or that be happy with this or that and don't try to make everything so grandiose set a bearable pace and stick with it small expectations deliver small disappointments like the saying goes don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff

Thank you. You are the most wise. I paused the video so I could read your comment without distraction.
I am going through my own discovery being a person of purpose is worth when all the things I once held as truths unravel as not truth I lost my footing. I put too much faith in the character of others. I’m a nice person too not feeling enough or as worthy as others even though you wouldn’t think that of me seeing me in life. But now I know how we are messing up the planet, animals , other people and I can’t fix it. Most people are ignorant to the facts because doing harmful things is making them money. Compassion for us who can’t change because it is too difficult. I’m vegan and have to use things that hurt our planet unfortunately. I live in nyc.
Thank you for your comment. We don’t have to wait to be happy or be enough. I just got a puppy to keep me in the moment I know it will be a reminder and be ever present love. Connection is most important. Your interactions w people is a gift to them. 🙏🏻

It is for Mr. Peterson that being an engineer I started studying formally the humanities, I enrolled into a College Philosophy degree, his personality, his message, his teaching are really something else. A media figure that brings the exclusivity of humanities to the masses
