Glad to you made it out alive, can‘t wait to watch that episode!
I was waiting for this podcast, I'm glad you made it out alive Lex I love you❤
@lexfridman ahhhh Lex! Love it, in your suit, in the jungle, you've put a really big smile on my face! x
Thank you and Thank you world for me to exist with a human like you simultaneously.
Congradulations! Glad you're alive!

Didn't think of it like that lol. Brilliant
Now imagine you're a jaguar.😏
Haha Id be PISSED… i came all the way to Peru to get away from civilization & theres just 2 dudes doing a podcast past that tree

HahahahHa I was thinking that as well. I would be like this IS A SIMULATION!
this is why podcasts and this long format, unscripted, free flowing content will rule going forward.
It was nice of him to take some time off from being lead singer of system of a down to do a podcast in the jungle

There is something about this location that kept the conversation even more genuine and human than Lex’s podcast already are. This felt like a sincere late night fireside chat that I remember from when I was a kid when we would sit around the bonfire at midnight as the flames dwindled down and talk just for the sake of talking. I could watch a million episodes like this.

Best podcast of 2024. Most likely ever.
I've been watching Lex since Episode #3. This is by far the best episode, hands down. There's a light in both of their eyes. And when Paul's favorite snake just so happens to enter the conversation, as Paul is talking about what they need in order to fulfill Jungle Keeper's dreams, I felt the jungle listening, laughing and enjoying their conversation. Unreal. Go Jungle Keepers!
This has to be the coolest way to do a podcast... ever? Now we need a podcast in space, at the bottom of the sea and in the Antarctica!
Can’t wait to see Lex in Antarctica with his suit hahaha

You guys are both legends. You bring my inner child out. I have a 3 year old son, and he loves searching for bugs in our backyard. I always let him explore but show him to respect life. This gives me an old perception, a view on life I forgot about. It's in all of us! Raise these kids right, put effort into your time after work. Keep them busy with cool free things like nature! I love in Washington state, west of the cascades. Better believe we will be camping a lot. I'm not a hunter but fishing for salmon in our rivers is on the menu. Thank you both for creating these moments for people like me. 🙏
I keep looking behind Lex and Paul for two glowing eyes.

This is the most genuine, transparent, and heartfelt podcast I ever listened to. Such incredible humbleness and respect for nature and life. At the end @03:59:40, Paul's message should be engraved in stone, so that we can remember it every day when we go on with our lives.
The best 4 hours I’ve ever spent listening to two men made all the more meaningful by the setting in the rainforest jungle. Heart beats of the rainforest. Awesome.
Paul is one of those guests that I could listen to for hours on end. He brings an almost childlike enthusiasm and incredible imagery in his storytelling which makes him unbelievably easy and entertaining to listen to.
He recognises the wonder and wants to share that feeling
I recommend his book!
And we did!
And he's fine as hell and isn't afraid of snakes - which is so hot cuz no fear =manly = knight in shinning armor, personified

The suit surprised me, the desk blew my mind. You are amazing Lex
The most amazing thing about lex’s podcast is the amount of perspective is shared. We get to imagine endless new ways of seeing planet earth. Regardless if it’s from a scientist, adventurer, martial artist, or politician.
This dude has got to be my top 3 favorite guests on any podcast.
He is an incredible speaker and thinker. Love this guy.

Well enjoy him cuz he ain't gunna be around much longer....a few years at the most. The guy really thinks he can talk to an communicate with not just wild animals but bat ish crazy animals from the amazon.
What are the other two?

Not even an exaggeration, the most beautiful and best episode of all time. The setting, the conversation, the vibe, the perfect-timed visit from the snake in the middle of the podcast--everything was perfect. And I'm excited to hear about Lex's Ayahuasca experience in the coming weeks.
Agree. This episode was loaded with quality info .. nature is amazing and quite harsh at times
Paul won. Him doing the podcast rounds is an obvious treat to all of us but mostly, a benefit to his cause and The Jungle. I think this man has more supporters now a days than he could’ve ever imagined.
This may well be the very best podcast episode I've ever seen. Well done Lex, you remind me so much of my innocent self. Someone I strived to be, always curious, the thirst for knowledge and understanding. We all appreciate you, be careful in your adventures. You're an international treasure. Also one of my favourite guests ever. Been hooked since learning of him from you and Joe. Truly a very mature and educated man, very wise in his views of the world and environments. Lots of great discussion in an absolutely unbelievable setting. I rarely comment but I have to just acknowledge the greatness of this episode. Never stop being you. Much love from Canada.
International treasure, yes, he is!
Our brother is in the Amazon rainforest, in a suit and tie, doing a podcast and at ANY moment a big cat could come out. Man, I’ve respected Lex the first time I saw him on the JRE but this is a whole new level. 😂 I freaking LOVE this dude.
Really...at ANY moment a big cat could come out? You haven't been paying attention at all to what Paul has been saying. These animals are more afraid of us then we are of them and they are extremely rare to come across.
Buffoonery.
Man, you need help on why you have to kiss this guys behind so badly. He's not your brother, he's no one's brother. He's doing (one of) his jobs and you can relax right about now, dude. You sound unhinged.

Your passion when you speak about the animals and rainforest is inspiring. Thank you for sharing and getting it into the world. Keep it up Paul! You’re making such a difference.
I don’t think I’ve heard someone this enthusiastic about animals since Steve. Probably the most entertaining episode I’ve ever seen from Lex.
Steve was more Crocodiles although he did other marine life Crocs were his hallmark, whereas Paul isn't just about the animals, he's on about that huge tract of rainforest and all the creatures that flight and fight to stay alive.
@@user-kc7nd8re3yNo one said they were the same, just that they’re both enthusiastic about animals.
@@osiris654 I never said they were the same
@user-kc7nd8re3y I would not be so quick to make a comparison at all honestly. They each have/had their own focuses; however, both obviously care about the ecosystems and each incremental part of their respective biomes within their study (including every animal, plant, and fungus) to a degree that you could call it pure love. You could always hear it in Steve's voice and eyes just like you can hear it in Paul's.
It's just too bad we never got to see a Steve Irwin Adventure Podcast or something of the like. He was partly constrained by working with corporations and networks like Animal Planet that themselves were directly constrained to shareholder desire and aversion.
this is their second episode, the previous one was amazing as well

One of the most fascinating podcast episodes i've ever seen. Pauls knowledge of the natural world is just amazing; and Lex being the real deal that he is traveles to the jungle, in his suit, to give us this absolute gem.
1:17:00 The reason smaller animals can handle heavier things relative to their size is that muscles are primarily 2D structures, while body volume is 3D. As an animal gets larger (say, twice the size), its muscle cross-sectional area increases proportionally to the square (2 x 2 = 4 times), but its body weight increases proportionally to the cube (2 x 2 x 2 = 8 times). This means that a larger animal has a proportionally smaller amount of muscle relative to its weight, making it less strong relative to its size.
This is Lex's BEST pod to date. Good luck topping this one. Travel pods are the future.

I just went thru the strangest deja vu with the jungle stories. I am now 68 yr old woman but at age 21 my anthropologist brother invited everyone in our family & friends to come visit him. I was the sole person who jumped at the chance.
He is a renown primative nomadic indigenous Indian anthropologist and his first experience was the Ache’ on the Brazil and Paraguay border.
Way to much to tell, and I rarely do as to what I saw and did for my month stay. I did go out with a group of around 5 families of male/female and their kids. The woman carried kids up to around 2 yrs either tied onto their heads or kids ride piggy back. It was to be a 5 day trip and the main goal was raw honey and they knew where to find it. I had a small light backpack and with 3 hrs of walking in this absolutely exhausting jungle, exactly as you described, I kept falling behind the group. The men seperate and are out with their bows killing monkey, armadillo and a large rodent that looked like a huge rat😂. The women told one of the kids around 10 yrs. To carry my pack and had the 5-6 children walk with me all day. These kids would climb a tree in an opening and continually find the adults. I tried to test myself and was always lost and redirected by the kids in minutes.
Bottom line is water became all I thought about. When we finally came up to a small stream and I was so excited for clean water, the kids jumped in upstream and my clear beautiful water got churned up with mud. I started to cry & told my brother I couldn’t go further. He said exactly these words that I’ll never forget. “You can either sit down and you’ll be dead here, or keep walking and don’t think about any other thing than continual movement.
I watched them kill a live monkey by swinging it by its legs and the head hit a tree trunk. Then they seared the hair off on our night fire and then took a knife and scraped off the hair. They flipped this monkey over and over, cooking it on the fire. The man then crack off the head and handed it off to the kids who seemed to be sucking out the brains. I was so out of my element and tried to watch and learn but reacting to everything with my own emotions.
I tried to eat some armadillo but I couldn’t even taste the monkey. I ate very little.
Day 2 at night camp the males told my brother that I’m holding up the group and won’t make it and so they are sending me back with the kids to the base living area. I lived off some hard candies I took in my pocket and charcoal sweet rice.
Amazing the kids got me out of the jungle and back to my shack that I stayed in.
This is the shortest most simplified version I can give you to tell you how your stories took me back to that time.
I am sooooo thankful I went. I got to truly step thru a time tunnel and see how life for us humans started. The stories could be regurgitated for hours of how many strange and bizarre things I experienced. I love that you are a kindred spirit and when given the chance, you went. Thank you!
What a crazy story Teri

Shoutout to chris williamson & Lex for really pushing the boundaries of podcasting!!
Did not expect a Cricket reference here! 😂
What a wonderful episode. I first discovered you when you interviewed Bassem, also awesome. Lex, I love your relaxed (non-baiting) long formant / style. It allows a beautiful free flow and spontaneous sharing to happen, a real sense of the humanity in us all. A real breath of fresh air . Thank you. Paul, loved everything you shared. I could've listened all day. My love for the natural world runs deep. Lastly, Aya is a wonderful teacher, much love + respect for her. I got to know her in South America as well.
This has to be on of the best podcast conversations on the globe to date. Two brothers - shoulder to shoulder. Sitting with a piece of the same truth, coming from opposite worlds. 😢❤🥁
In only 3 days Lex has almost a million views on a 4 hour podcast
No one else can do that
He redefines GOAT
Stop glazing. It's literally dripping off of your chin.
The fact that we are watching you in the jungle while it gets dark is the most beautiful present you could have given us in this podcast, besides the captivating talk and yourselves as beautiful humans. Thank you!
They are in a studio haha can't you tell?
This is so cool, I first discovered Paul on your podcast lex. I've since watched a few different podcasts with him. So stoked you went to the Amazon! What an experience, can't wait for your upload about your adventures. Cheers from New Zealand ✌🏼
Thank you guys for having a conversation about our amazing nature. Fabulous!
Absolutely loved Paul's answer on if we live in a video game. We're so stuck in our cement boxes, isolated from nature, we don't even perceive reality anymore.
I must've miss this. Can you approximately share the timestamp please? ❤

It’s by design, we can’t deal with nature in all its glory and chaos. We are what we are cause we shield ourselves from nature while also taking advantage of it
You can fix that. I make routine attacks on that element of my existence! ❤️ It helps a lot!!!!
This is a really, really special moment in CZcams history
Possibly one of my favourite interviews I've ever seen
I think this is my favorite episode so far!! Thanks Lex!
This is the best podcast in the world, hands down.
É demais, mesmo!
At 2 hrs 9 minutes i had to take a break to just internalize the depth wit in this conversation which is a pendulum of humor and deep understanding of how we exist as a lifeform. This is arguably one of the best episodes that Lex has blessed us with. The suit in the middle of the rainforest is an indication to his dedication to this cause of just filling the internet with superb content. Thanks, Lex.
Fascinating. Props to donning your threads. Wholly interesting and vast conversings!
It is amazing to witness Lex’s amazement and willingness to learn and appreciate all of the creatures he’s witnessed ❤️❤️❤️
