      Hi
      With out seeing it, it's hard to help. If your parts are the right one, it should fit without any problem. Try asking forums like ETCG or Honda Element Owner Club, often some peoples had the same problem and are willing to help or give good advice...good luck

  • @Sirach985
    @Sirach985 Před 6 lety +1

    Does it matter which way the adjuster is facing on a parking brake? Is it the same as for drum breaks I the way they self adjust when you reverse and hit the brakes?

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox
      @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox  Před 6 lety +1

      I install the adjuster has per tech book instruction. On this model, the parking brake do not self adjust while braking on reverse. You can only adjust the parking brake by turning the adjuster up or down with a screwdriver

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox
      @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox  Před 4 lety +1

      Maybe you need to adjust your brake pads by turning the little wheels up or down with a screwdriver through the peep hole in the drum part of your rear brake. It Could also be a binding caliper

      Hi, if you installed everything right and the parts are not defective. it could be a bearing wearing out or a tie rod, bushing.... Lift the vehicle and pull and push each wheels back and forth side to side and top to bottom, it should be tight, no play

    My 2010 CR-V has a loud thug when I drive away in the morning. I suspect this is caused by this emergency brakes. I hear it from the rear right.

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox
      @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox  Před 5 lety +1

      You are probably right. It may be too tight, you can adjust the brake shoes with the little wheel inside the drum through the inspection hole with a screwdriver. Just pop the rubber cover on the drum and turn it until you see the adjusting wheel (bottom).
      It may also be a good idea to have look inside and spray clean with brake cleaner the parts and change anything faulty and use high heat lube where needed.

      If its like the Element, the parking brake shoes and hardware are inside the rotor/drum...its like two brake setup in the rear rotor/caliper/pads for normal brake and drums/shoes for parking brake

      It will be sticking to the inside of the drum due to moisture. Take them off degrease everything then get some fine sand paper and rub it over the brake shoe linings to rough them up.
