My ex has a criminal record for neglecting his baby daughter who died from her injuries.He told me he didn't have any children 👀 I was told about this by his relative, after I had ended the relationship I contacted the police to do a Claire's law check and I was told that since the relationship is over and no children are at risk, but I had experience DV, they won't disclose any information to me.
Unfortunately Claire 's law doesn't work in every case. Also, you can't do a DBS check on someone unless you are an employer.

Even if she had been told earlier, would she have listened? The on and off is the first red flag. The sad thing is this person will have many more victims, even in that very same Zimbabwean community. How it works is that the new victim will be so loved up she and her bridesmaids will gang up against the " bitter ex " and her bridesmaids try to warn her against this guy.

As an American, it is common courtesy as the host (the person who home we are going to) for you to have your home prepared for the guest. I would be best to have food and drinks ready for guests because they are taking time and gas to come to you. Why have the spend time going out their way when they are already coming to you.

I thought as Africans, this background check thing is almost natural. Since I dated one horrible human in 2012, I have never been with any man that I didn’t do a background check on. Sometimes I even do it for friends
From one African to another, background checks can only go so far. I was shown flames by a Zimbabwean man who claimed to love Jesus. I’m still disturbed. I did the whole background check, and he came out spotless. Unfortunately you cannot do a character assessment.
