My Bad Car Experiences Nov 2018 to Present
    Hi,
My dream car has always been the Bmw M3, although since the 4 series came out, I love the M4 Competition Pack Coupe, or Convertible. I love the M3 and M4. But a have a soft spot for the various M5 models, like the E28, E34, E39 & E60. Not seen many F10 or F90s, but they do look amazing. I would never be able to afford any of these, unless a huge lottery jackpot or BOTB win lol. So the nearest I have gotten down the years, are the one spec below on each 3 series models (albeit over 10 to 15 plus yrs old, by the time I can afford them. E.g E36 M3, I got 1x 325i and 2 x 328i. E92 M3, I got 1 x E90 330i and 2 x 335is.etc).
Being that I'm a disabled British Army vet era n, I'm unable to ever work again, so a fool can dream lol. as I'll never work again. I got a bank loan to get an 06 E90 330i in Feb 2017. Loved it. Upgraded the loan to get an 08 E92 335i Feb 2018. I never should have sold that black E92 335i Msport bmw in Nov 2018. Although I got my dream E93 Le mans blue 07 335i convertible. It all went wrong. I almost died Nov2018, I have a broken back degenerative spinal stenosis disability, severe Sciatica, OCD, PTSD, and traits of Aspergers, Stress, Anxiety, Depression. Which pain levels alone for those, are bad enough. Let alone the extra on top isxues of Possible Gallstone, huge Abcess under my jaw, causing 4 teeth needing surgerical removing, Borderline Thoirid issue, left hip (out of joint), and right knee totally gone, making body out of position. Both needing replacement. All that pain whilst typing this message. I have upcoming consultations, but Covid Lockdown put All on hold. So in Nov 2018, I Got a 2nd loan, and wanted to cheer myself up. By buying my dream le mans blue E93 335i on 07. This was unfortunately a bad buy, so I had to sell Feb 2019, to buy a downsize car (not that an E60 530i msport is a downsize. Its a bigger car. I meant engine. 530i is 258bhp 0 to 60 in 6.7 secs still quick. But that Black E92 335i was remapped to 370bhp 500nm 0to60 in 4.4secs. Thats crazy spec speeds, for under £8000. The blue one same spec but 4.8secs. Insane for convertible. The first E60 530i I got, was the 2005 E60 530i early 231bhp model, after selling the blue one in Feb 2019. Nice car for few years downsize. That was unfortunately an even worse buy than the Blue one. So got later facelift 05 model with 258bhp. That is same spec as my 06 graphite grey E90 330i Msport Steptronic I sold in Feb 2018 to get dream E92 335i. I didnt want to feel like going backwards, and buy another E90 330i. I wanted to buy my first 5 series. So I got same spec as 06 E90, but on a 05 E60. I Couldn't find an E92 3ltr 325 or 330i msport. So got that E60 530i. Brake pads and 2 sensors needed doing. The dealer heard my bad luck situation, and dropped £700 off (So no warranty sold). Other than that it was nice. I did less than 550 ish miles in the year I had it, and sold it the day before the first Covid lockdown. I went from 8000 budget to £1500. Absolutely gutted. Spent a lot to buy food, but bank gave me loan holiday 6 months (I managed also to consolidate the 2 loans into one, and pay over 8 yrs, and cheaper to repay etc). So saved til Sept 2020. I got about £4000. I was either going for: E92 330i 272bhp, or mk2 Audi TT 3.2 dsg, or VW Scirocco 2.0 Tfsi (My health meant difficulty in getting in and out of the Audi Mk2 TT, so that choice as scrapped). Then in 4 to 6 yrs, top loan up, to get either last shape E92/E93 335i, or first shape 428, 430, 435 coupe. Or 130i hatch or 135i coupe on 06 to 09, or M135i/M140i ranges from 1 to 4 series (e.g: M235i/M240i, 335i/340i, M435i/M440i). Out of all in truth a lovely early M440i coupe of convertible.
I couldn't find a cheap E92 330i (Typically loads of nice 07 and 08 E92 330i's about between £3100 to £3,900, when saving, but when I got £4000 by Sept 2020, I could save til Dec or even longer to get an 08 E92 330i msport, or 1 series petrol or diesel car in dsg etc). In September 2020, I found a very local, and lovely: Blue 06 Audi A4 B7 3.2 FSI DSG S.Line convertible.
So I'm now stuck with a £22,000 loan over 8 yrs, with only a cheap £3,500 to £4,500 ish Audi (I also got furniture for flat etc, so not all wasted etc). I never should've sold my beautiful and immaculate 08 black E92 335i, but when you battle as much as I do, I wanted to own at least one convertible before I die. As mentioned above, I'm definitely topping up the loan one last time, as I'm 49 whilst typing this, to get the newer options above. Hoping to keep til my old age, and chose a potential classic model etc. Til then I'll enjoy my Audi A4. However Id prefer to own a Bmw E90/92 330i Msport on 07 to 08, or Bmw E82 07 to 08. Being My finances are destroyed, I was hoping some kind soul might swap, for an 07/08 E92 330i msport Coupe or E82 coupe msport. (Anyone in dsg, as can't drive a manual anymore very well due to health), preferably the E92 330i, but live with E82 coupe also. A fool can dream lol), til I get my newer car in 5 yrs time. Unless lottery or BOTB win. lol.
I've had 34 cars since driving, and have been very cheap rust buckets, between 2003 to 2016 (A particularly difficult part of my 28yr ongoing health nightmare), and My favs are my 7 VW Golf Gtis and 9 Bmws, and now this Audi. However I keep getting near misses for a swap to E92 330i. And a few E82 coupes. The man who remapped my E92 335i, travelled the country, and my bmw guru mate, got his remapped with mine. The guy lives in Midlands, and use to work for BMW in Munich. So great software. My convertible E93 335i was pre mapped. My Audi A4, might be valued the same, or a few hundred less than my swap options, but that's why I'm reaching out. I'd rather drive a bmw til I can top up my loan, than the Audi. I do love it, as its got the golf R32 3.2 engine in. It sounds lovely, but my E92 335i sounded insane, and I'm sure the E92 330i 272bhp or E82 225i is also. My only vice is being a petrol head, as don't have much else in life living alone
Except my nutty cat. I don't regret buying the Audi, it's beautiful, but missing Bmw, I've never owned a VW Scirocco, so that might be cool if no E92 330i or E82 coupe msport around. I hope you can put the jungle drums out amongst your contacts, or offer this coupe. I might be interested if yours is a dsg auto. If you or anyone who is interested, will get photos and car info etc. So if you know anyone in the UK who wants my Audi A4 B7 for an E90/E92 330i or E82 125i coupe msport dsg straight swap. With idrive, black leather and silver titanium interior, and nice alloys. Then I'd be most grateful. Sorry a bit long. But if I rung, it would only take 2 mins to say the mini essay above lol. Your Bmw coupe looks lovely, so hope you can do a swap. Mines a lovely car. Hope you can help me enjoy a Bmw again.
Hope you can help. I've booked it in for its mot 16th Sept, and the only thing I got left was alloy refurb. Was going to do alloys after Xmas.
    Kindest regards.
    David

Objectively every new M3 is somehow better than the last. Subjectively this is a dark era in BMW where they've lost their way and design is completely out the window. I'm all for new design but it must move forward in synchronicity with the past in some way. There are numerous videos on the youtubes that dissect this matter in detail by individuals with exemplary CVs (Frank Stephenson comes to mind).
An M3 is more than just how good it is on the road, although thats a very big part and I'm glad the new one performs as good as it is heinous to look at.
Peak M3 was the E46 imho, and the reason why I now own one.
Having said all that, I'm happy BMW still makes these and offers one with a manual, a unicorn in today's automotive landscape.
I would also like to have seen a comparo from the previous M3 models. Great video either way.

Having new bmw next to old bmws shows how ugly the new cars are. You have to like the look or the drive means nothing. Form over function is important on autos.

The new M4 has no good angle in my opinion, at least the new M3 look ok from the back and sides.

BMW needs to give up on their fake engine sound. It's the worst in the business.
