For me the recap is indispensable in order to turn the hours upon hours of hermit content that I can’t watch into a fun and exciting video that not only helps me stay up to date but is also just really fun
Exactly right. There's simply too much content from all the hermits to keep up with, so aside from the 4-5 I have time to actually watch directly it's great to have the recap to catch the rest of them.

It’s been a great season, and memories have been made. Yet it’s a somber thing to me, given TFC’s unfortunate passing. May he be forever immortalized in Hermitcraft history, and forever in our hearts.

Impulse has actually discussed some of his plans in a stream of his (his last hermitcraft 9 stream), so for anybody interested: He basically said he's wanting to go for a kind of cyberpunk-dystopian aesthetic, and he cited The Stacks, from Ready Player One, as an example of this aesthetic.

Love the small tribute to TFC at the end. Always a True Hermit and a reminder of no matter what people say, Hermitcraft isn't about Mega Bases or insane machines, it's about a bunch of people around the world playing a video game they love in their own way and having fun together. Fantastic work and thank you Pix, Sloy, Lyarrah for doing this show.
This Season had its Wildest rides... From King Ren, To Buttercups Vs The GOAT, To the TCG and Decked Out II... However the most heavy hitting and saddest part of all of this, was obviously the passing of the Truest Hermit whom has ever lived...

It's rather interesting the number of Hermits that came out of this season and went "Okay, maybe I went *too* mega with my mega base this season. I'm probably gonna scale it down in season 10." Will definitely be interesting to see what Season 10 brings. Thanks for the ride HCRecap, and I will see you for season 10 for sure!
I’m thinking season 10 is going to be a lot less focused on base building and a lot more focused on collaborations, community events, mini games etc

I hope that for Season 10 the shopping district becomes a bigger thing again, because in this season it felt like almost everyone had a farm for everything, which meant less interactions
I agree, the Hermitcraft economy is really key to bringing everyone together. I hope the hermits each specialize in a trade rather than everyone building a bunch of redundant farms.
Yeah the whole diamond pillar war sorta killed the economy this season
Agreed. I think that probably part of the reason there were *so many* diamonds around this season was that people weren't buying things at shops as much. I really loved season 7's interactions and hope 10 comes out more similarly

It's very fun exploring the Hermitcraft world, roleplaying as someone akin to a barbarian after the fall of Rome. All the magnificent builds are still there, but I can't build them nor fully comprehend their meaning. So I just play survival and scavenge. Really fun. Found the Hotguy bow and released some Sniffers.
One of the first things I did on the world download was to move into Pearl's trash shop and racoon it up in there
'that thing you vaguely remember from 2 years ago was STILL part of season 9'. WOW that was relatable😭😭

Ren almost getting murdered by a creeper at the very end of his last video was another fine capstone to the season's end... but Grian definitely had a wholesome, uplifting ending to things.
Glad I discovered these recaps, they really helped showcase the antics and achievements every week.
2:25 I forgot he decorated the Nether hub with freaking Nether Stars good lord.

I love everything you did to make these recaps. All the hermitcraft footage you went through, I’m glad you did it.
I think another highlight of this season was the collaboration between Empires S2 and HC, unless you’ve forgotten about that already. It was very cool seeing how the members of both Hermitcraft AND empires went around it. Also, Grian’s video wasn’t 1.5 hours long. It was almost 2 hours
I never got the chance to watch TinFoilChef, but it was heartwarming to see how much impact he had on the other hermits. Rest in Peace TFC. We will all miss you.

While I did not watch TFC his impact on HC was still great. I hope his memory lives on in future seasons and wish his family the best. Can’t wait for season X.

Each rock on Dwayne was supposed to have a different era of building on it, from classical to relatively modern. In that sense, Grian hasn’t finished his base.
i think a soup group but with all of the hermits is a fun idea for the next season
That may be a bit much, but atleast living closer so that their terraforming touches/connects would be cool.
Personally i am rooting for more "base buddies" like Iskall and Etho did in season 8. Ideally with each pair having 1 "builder" and 1 "redstoner". I have seen a lot of sentiment from the hermits that more collaboration and especially between the Minecraft disciplines would be really cool/fun. At this point all the hermits are capable of making pretty builds and atleast following a redstone tutorial for the farms/systems they need.

I hope Grumbot managed to send Grian to the Empires server 😂 everybody talks about who should join Hermitcraft, I would love to see Grian join Empires if they ever make a season 3. Just one season with all his shenanigans would be so much fun

I think you might have forgotten to mention that scar actually shared his plans for season 10 a while back when talking with X ( star wars related base).
We're deliberately being vague about stuff like this because the Hermits could change their minds before they actually start Season 10.
This season will probably be remembered as the season of gigantic projects.
Deck out 2 and TCG of course, but the entire king's arc, crossover, beyond-mega super bases, total chaos, diamond war, scar land and everything that I probably didn't mention.
There are so many big projects that several Hermits overworked themselves and burnout completely, or unfinished be cause those are simply too big.
I hope season 10 can be just as great, but also more focus on chilling and having fun with friends. The best Hermit is a happy and relaxed Hermit, after all :D
I was gonna be all nostalgic for the last minute Quantum Leap shout out, but then I remembered the remake and was sad for a different reason than "Dr Beckett never returned", ah well.
In all seriousness, thanks so much for all of your hard work this season recapping everything. All of those hours watching and editing are much appreciated. I hope you all enjoy your breaks and get some good rest.

I hope someone downloads the map and finishes mumbo's base lol.
I would like to see this for most of the unfinished bases where with creative and worldedit the gaps could be filled in. Things like Mumbo's tower or copy pasting some of pearls custom trees onto the "golf field".
I remember seeing a video of someone doing this for Iskall's season 7 tree, and i think it would be cool to see again.
I'm a lot less interested in all the videos of people just touring the download, i just don't feel like it really adds enough to what the hermits created. (Xisuma talked about "added value" once when discussing clipper channels vs things like animatics and the recap)

Love watching Hermitcraft the last few years! I think its not just the building and creativity, but the shenanigans and comradery by all the hermit.

I wonder if HC would put together a second world download that is just Decked Out, so that it’s a smaller file size and people could easily keep a backup to reset in case things break!

This video and just the end of season 9 has made me so emotional for some reason 😅 I’ve been a dedicated fan since s6, and this too. So many great memories. Loved the builds, games, and I loved the crossover so much too.

A very special thank you to the recap team - I came into this season in the middle, binged a couple creators, and thought that would be it until I realized how little I was seeing of the crossover. When I realized you guys were covering everything even then, I started down this ninety-plus-video rabbit hole and now I’ve found new hermits to enjoy, learned more about incredible projects I only glimpsed or heard of in passing before, and am certain to come back both here and to their own videos for season ten. Let’s go!
I just want to say that I have just got done logging in to the season 9 world download, and the sheer scale of what the Hermits have accomplished is entirely overwhelming. My jaw has not come back up from the floor. One would think after watching every Hermits perspective the entire season it wouldn't be that big of a shock. You cannot prepare yourself to actually walk around the server. I couldn't even decide for a good few minutes which way to start. I just sat there turning in all directions not knowing how to take that first step. Bravo Hermits! Every single one of you have such an amazing talent, and personality to boot. The inspiration runs deep. Thank you for such a wonderful season, and series!

Seems like I’m not the only one that thought of TFC, it’s the last season he’ll have played. They could make a monument to him in S10, like a statue or something.
i'm so glad to see that even though mumbo wasn't present much in season 9, that his one major farm inspired others by how bad it was to make it work.

IT will be so good to see more of the empire's collaborations or that group also being here and vice versa, along with more new members joining the server who bring in their own styles and thoughts.

Oh my gosh. Two years. It's so weird. I simultaneously remember this stuff like it was yesterday and also feel like it was *seasons* ago. Everyone has grown so much since the start. My life has changed so much. I mean at the beginning of this season, we still had Techno, TFC, and Jellie. RIP legends. And now youtube *pioneers* are retiring. It's so... overwhelming. So hopeful and exciting and yet so gut-wrenchingly saddening.

this made me realize that god damn i have been following Grian and Scar for over 2 years.
I do have to say, that i will as a viewer also miss the Scarland a lot. i can feel and see the love and passion towards it, but, it sure doesn't feel like 2 years has passed with S9
although, i'm so excited for season 10.

Between the holiday chaos at work and the holidays themselves, I haven't had time to check up with the hermits, so this sudden end came as a surprise. I'm glad Scar is continuing Scarland. It's an amazing place and there's still so much to expand there.
Though I already can't wait for season 10. Do they have any vague timeframe yet? S9 is my first season I've followed closely, so I don't know how long of a gap goes between them.
Okay but why did we have to hit the feels like that at the end of the episode. RIP TFC
I have been having so much fun playing Decked Out!
I've learned a lot of things about Minecraft from the Hermits in this my first season, also, empires crossover and Pixlriffs let's play, despite playing since around 1.6.4. I finally beat the Ender Dragon on Boxing day, got my first survival elytra and just finished a creeper farm for gunpowder. I have my first flying machine (sugarcane) and my enjoyment of the game has improved. I can't wait to see what everyone gets up to next season. Happy New Year all!
