- 🍿In a crucial courtroom scene, we see Kaffee (Tom Cruise), trying to find out what happened to a soldier who died at Guantanamo Bay. Lieutenant Kaffee questions Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson) during a big military trial.
📩 / @movingpicsofficial
🎬A Few Good Men (1992): Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is a military lawyer defending two U.S. Marines charged with killing a fellow Marine at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. Although Kaffee is known for seeking plea bargains, a fellow lawyer, Lt. Cdr. JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore), convinces him that the accused marines were most likely carrying out an order from a commanding officer. Kaffee takes a risk by calling Col. Nathan R. Jessep (Jack Nicholson) to the stand in an effort to uncover the conspiracy.

Tough luck, I know! "A Few Good Men" got nominated for five Golden Globes and four Academy Awards. They were hoping to win Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (that's Jack Nicholson), Best Film Editing, and Best Sound Mixing.
But, despite many thinking Jack Nicholson deserved a golden award, the movie didn't actually win in any of those categories it was nominated for.
Too bad. The Academy was blind
The Academy hates movies in which America or the military are shown with any redeeming features or morality.
@@warrenwhite9085 yes yes, the academy is woke communists who hate america....but back here in reality, this movie shows a power hungry egomaniac colonel who has no issues torturing his own men, and marines willing to obey unlawful orders and beating their fellow marine to death, i guess this is what you think is redeeming and moral
The biased jury
Plus they also TRULY HATE When the U.S. Military is shown with any shred of Strength/Honor
Admit it. This is not the 1st time you are watching this scene. I know this is not my 1st time
Probably my 500th I'm a serious sad twat 😂
I can talk along with the whole movie😂😂.... one of the best movies imo.
there's way too much sreeped history & tradition in what Nicholson says to be able to catch it the 1st, or the 21st time
I think I lost count after 25
You're goddamn right I did..😀
This is what good writing is. Its just people in a room but you hang on every word
Except this behaviour would never be allowed in a court room
Nicholson gives chills with his perfect portrait of Jessup. I cannot help but watch it all over again
Cuckoo's nest also a gem❤
@@rankobarensic- “As Good as it Gets” was also a masterful performance. Cuckoo’s nest was my favourite performance of his
❤
What a classic line
"You can't handle the truth"
@@hrhtreeoflife4815 Those words you can't handle the truth sadly they are true out there for some in the world.
Ditto
The best court scene in film history
I agree
Breaker Morant scene was stirring.
It's a close second to My Cousin Vinny
Not as good as Al Pacino's opening statement in Justice for All.
In an interview with Kevin Pollock, he said they had to shoot this same scene many times from different angles using the same cameras because there weren't enough cameras to film everything in the same take (I'm quoting from memory but I believe they did 12 takes for this scene). And that could pose a problem in continuity because if the actors couldn't maintain the same facial expressions, demeanor, intensity, etc...from take to take, the final editing would be ruined. He also said that in all of the takes, Jack Nicholson would act EXACTLY like the last one, with the same intensity, facial expression, demeanor, as you just saw in the movie cut (almost like a machine). It was amazing and saved a lot of hours for everybody.
Just because he loved acting
@@marceladipaolo6938true. Unlike new hollywood "actors" which spent more time in non related art businesses
Rich Eisen Show I believe
🤣🤣🤣 8:20 Poor Lt Weinberg was just sitting at his table minding his business when he suddenly incured the wrath of Jessup!!!! 🤣🤣
The anti-semitic touch was another great way to underscore Jessup's flaming arrogance.
@@cherylhulting1301 I wasen't suggesting Jessup was making an anti-semetic remark by pointing out Lt. Weinberg. What exactly was anti-semetic about it?
@@mrtrek64
Consider it to insinuate a dark ‘Gentile’ humor.
@@mrtrek64 It is the dismissive stress on the last name "Weinberg." Listen to it again. Not only does Jessup clearly think Sam is a "wuss," he's a Jew he can insult as well.
Why did you get defensive at the idea of accusing Jessup of anti-semitism? Nicholson deftly underscores a lot of Jessup's racism, including the way he refers to Willie Santiago.
@@cherylhulting1301
I think that's BS.
he just call his NAME!!! with the same attitude of the whole speech??
Nobody knows that he's jewish... and even if he knew, he just said his name!!!
He calls those who are judging him. Tom Cruise and Weinberg...
who's gonna do it?? you ppl that put me here on trial???
that's ALL.
There's no evidence of any racism whatsoever on the movie.
He also says the name of William Santiago, normally...
WTF???
and the reasons he didn't send Santiago home, were another ones. discipline... whatever.
This movie id from the 90's!!!
way before everything is racist and offensive to crystal soy boys.
if you say the name of a jew, you're antisemitic??? GTFOH...
I'm tired of that BS
-Did you order the code red!?
-You don’t have to answer that question
-I’ll answer the question - *proceeds to incriminate himself*
That's the skill of the cross examiner
Tom's greatest performance EVER... Nothing else comes close.
Born on the fourth of july?
Maverick , best movie of all time.
But acting wise yeah this was a good perfermance.
@ekimandersom4478 your on drugs if you think maverick is his best work
Rain Man?
See his role in tropic thunder
The master gives a lesson in character acting, because underneath he feels what he says. He becomes the character for the duration of shooting. People say its from the very first script reading. He has spent days absorbing whats required and he never disappoints. Anthony Hopkins said that only Brando does it as well.
Masterful performance by Jack Nicholson.
@Riv-jv3ft Both are great.
This is my favorite movie of all time. This scene right here is so legendary. The acting in this movie was incredible. I NEVER get tired of this movie lol. 🙏🏾❤️
I’ve watched this movie over 20 x
This is the perfect example of someone who's in a position of authority being totally unsettled by being challenged.
They are so used to people just doing as they are told.
The scene still sends shivers up my spine every time I see it! Real dramatic and powerful!
This Scene is Spine Chilling Without Question and Jack Steals This Scene!
Tell that to all the pampered little tik tokrs who think everything is free.
Definitely one of THE best scenes Ever.
A truly underrated film, and a scene right up there with the very best.
I don't think it's underrated dude. It's an Oscar winning movie, and this scene is one of the known greatest ever. lol
@@fishtailfuture fair points!
Goosebumps ... This intense scene still gives me goosebumps. 😳😳
You need a life
I serve with people like this. Rules regulations and policies are not for man like this. They use power to circumvent it.
Could you please elaborate ?
I think 'Code Red' is a good practice which saves lives..just like ragging in schools. It makes boys men
Not seeing the correlation. What exactly did you mean by that?
Jack n Tom 2 legends and legendary performance.. my 84th time watching the movie clip
84th? Are you sure? You actually kept count, ya know... just in the off chance that someone might have asked?
@@Seemsayin absolutely bruv.. got to keep track
Jack Nicholson immersed in the role of USMC Colonel Jessup went off the rails! Improvised the "You can't handle the truth!"
All excellent performances by fantastic actors with great direction and great writers. Man! So great.
What a movie & what stunning acting by each & every last one of 'em.. even the judge & those 2 convicts as well.. Complete movie in every way. ❤
Fabulous scene.
You can cut the air with a knife! ❤❤❤
And according to Kevin Pollock, Nicholson was hitting homeruns with every take.
Another scene I like is Al Pacino in scent of a woman as he speaks to the disciplinary committee at Charles School played by Chris O’Donnell
Jessup's speech had been burning in his mind and he was waiting for a chance to give it. He gave it. lol
1992, sans internet: What a GREAT courtroom drama!
2024, with LawTube: WTF is this 💩?!
When you infuriate someone, they only see you. They don't see the judge. They don't see the jury. They don't see the court. They come after you. It's personal.
the best scene by far ever produced in Hollywood. Story, script, actors, director, filmed. Human inevitable deep conflict EXTRAORDINARY
Ending this clip before they showed Kevin Bacon's expression is a sin!
Tom Cruise is divine here!
Colonel Jessup’s arrogance got the better of him.
He had to lead Jessup into the trap and then drop the net on him. If Santiago was scheduled to leave, why hadn't he packed up his gear?
Or called his family? Or friends? Kaffee leads Jessup right into the trap, though Jessup counters well. But the situation is weird and Kaffee knows it.
Colonel Jessup: YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!
Lieutenant Kaffe: * Breaks out scientology e-meter *
Those two boys got represented, that’s for sure.
Jack, and Pacino, everybody else WISHES they were this good.
Back 2023.
Reminds me of people I work with.
I just love this scene. Acting and writing brilliance.
I love how even the jurors begin to look really interested when Tom points out that Santiago hadn’t called a soul or packed a thing. Such a great touch.
love this movie and rewatched it again and again, never get bore ! each charater has been portrayed perfectly... each dialog it superb..
Love the little touch of Kafee's hand shaking as he drinks the water at 4:00. Behind the cocky facade he's s**t scared his bluff may go terribly wrong.
Caught him in his arrogance!
03:29
You can tell by the expression on Joann's eyes she's the only one who believes in Danny, he can make Jessup to confess
Great scene, stretches the bounds of believability - an intelligent man, admits to committing a crime and thinks he can go back to his base
It’s because he thinks he can do whatever he wants, look at the way he talks to the judge lol.
I saw this movie over the weekend and I love this exact scene!
the boat ? ... oooh ... oh oh .... get it georgie😂
I love how smug and comfortable Jessup is at the start and as soon as the answers he gives contradict themselves his behaviour becomes much more aggressive and arrogant. Brilliant acting from Nicholson.
If there was ever a scene to make you believe this was real, and actually happened it's this.
Not if you know basically _anything_ about how a real courtroom actually functions.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s one of the best acted scenes in movie history, but it’s not even close to how trials are in real life.
Court rooms don’t work like this lol
Although Cruise was very young at the time, he was already at the bar level of performances of the greats. Nic was intense in that movie, but Cruise added quality also. Great movie
I've watched this movie 737649734 times and I never get sick of this
So Tom Cruise have played a court scene this good... Beautiful 👍👍👍
It never gets old 💯
This is the best scene ever recorded
That's intense and intriguing.and I am not watching it for the first time.
Nicholson is an artist!
Still the best performance Tom Cruise gave in a film.
Talk about gaslighting 😂😂😂😂 he set that eruption up! 😂😂😂
I'd say it was also Tom Cruise's best ever impersonation.
Everyone who's looking this scene up at CZcams repeatedly again once in a while, please say Hi!
This Scene is Spine Chilling Bar None Especially With Jack’s Performance!
Watching it for the n th time!
This scene make tom cruise ... TOM CRUISE 👏👏
I like how Nicholson says "ignored the order".
Tom Cruise 🚢™️ and Jack Nicholson ™️ should have 🏆 win the Academy Awards ®️ AKA Oscars ™️ for this scene right here!❤️👍💯
Love it ❤ this is great acting by Jack and Tom outstanding also by k bacon
It's a masterful gotcha moment
Don’t forget about all the online chat on AOL😂
Classic!
The one that flew over over the cuckoo’s nest was him and my mom😂
Yep. One of the best films ever made.
Great film, I’m re watching it tonight
You've been so Honest and correct with everything this far.😂😂😂. Can we say "Know it all, knows fk all..irrespective of age".
I love this scene. One of the very best in Hollywood history. Jack Nicholson was magnificent!!!
TOM CRUISE IS THE BEST ATTORNEY EVER
You can't handle this one
I watch this exactly 3x every twelfth of a year.
Hard to determine who is better, Jack or Tom.
For me it was Tom Cruise and imo Jack Nicholson was a total maniac in “The Shining “ but when I’d watched “interview with the vampire” Tom Cruise came in as double frantic than Jack Nicholson.
His performance terrifies me to the very day more than the two girls in the Shining, more than Jack Nicholson.
I’ve nightmares of Lestat sitting on me when I’m on the verge of dying, it’s creepy and Idk how do I say it’s lead me to the belief Tom Cruise is the best & worst to me at the same time
It is a scene worth to watch more than 1000 times❤but here lacks the very end of this remarkable discussion
Jack Nicholson is an under rated and under appreciated talent. What a power performance.
Jessup would have gotten
that recess if he didn't take the shot at the judge!!!😂😂😂 I don't know what kind of outfit you're running here!
7:24 “No sir…you made it clear just a moment ago that your men never take matters into their own hands. Your men follow orders or people die. So Santiago shouldn’t have been in any danger at all, should he have Colonel?”
“Correct…but in this case, the men didn’t follow orders and someone died”
So good. So so good
Beautiful scene
Masterful
My favourite Tom Cruise film. One of my favourite movies full stop!
Always wanted to see Jack play Capt. Queeg.
I can hear it...
"Ah, but the strawberries, thats where I had them..."
colonel jessup did you order the CODE RED?
This was some great acting on both their parts!
Great scene
“You don’t have to answer that question”. “I’d like a recess”. Sure, let me try that the next time I broke the law and I’m being questioned in in court. I could really use that myself. I’m a high-ranking auto parts laborer.
Give me the phone bill that sprint has and you mean the phone bill that AT&T has and the phone bill that Mabel has😂
I love this scene
So should I sign up or not?
Drama at its best , these are two great actors
Great movie
This was intense
At the age of 11, I’m not even enrolled in the military and second of all in a foster home😂
love jack -- what a star
You left out the VERY important part that happens right after you ended the video.
9:35 At d end. He made him swear. ☺
0:15 a GREAT MOVIE!!!
You can't handle the truth
Does anyone else hold their breath during this scene?
I've watched it one hundred times and still get a buzz out of it. MICHAEL EARDLEY aka Micky Eardley or mick aus
