The tone, the delivery, the way he looks, the not blinking, the way he stands up at the beginning searching for the stick, the raising his voice at the right moments. Pacino is truly an outstanding actor and for those (thankfully) few people who think this is “over the top”, this is a bitter, depressed to the point of suicide, blind military man who is feeling alive again, this rage, this passion is making him feel alive and Pacino represents this, along with a great script, perfectly imo.

The right path is subjective. My idea of right path is doing everything how Jesus would have. To another it might be to have sued someone with a false claims they had a case on, or even stiffing friends or employees for extra pocket money. Crazy how differently we all think.
Most important thing in life to me is to truly love everyone. Wish the best for all, hold no grudges. Show mercy when we can...judge how we want to be judged. Yes the law has to punish in certain cases severely, but always love this people too. Take no joy in their suffering. Be thankful it isn't you, and you see those issues more clearly then they did. You are blessed to see truth when you see it!

Marvin Martin, sure. An almighty ‘source’ that is enabled to bring any person, place, and/or thing into existence or extinction within any worldly and biological construct can certainly prevent or mitigate any momentous occurrence at any time and anywhere along its synchronous, space-time chronology. Serial killers like Ted Bundy can be afflicted with life ending aneurisms after any one of their victims has had their spirit amputated. In my mind, the failure to act conflicts with the notion that an all knowing, an all good, and an almighty ‘force’ also merits a large faction of the world’s population to equivocally refer to it as ‘God, The Father’. Within the same metaphysics, it appears to me that a past time amusement such as watching motion pictures for entertainment purposes and that pertain to a genre entitled horror is not an exclusive component of entertainment that is solely humanities. Time may change that.

One could be my style of write and my approach of revising a write for the purpose of rectifying literary anomalies I identify after posting it. Meanwhile, you’re trying to discern an unfinished version. I should write elsewhere, then post when ready. I apologize for not doing that. Another part that contributes towards confusion stems from you not differentiating which sense you’re actually utilizing in your discernment. To minimize confusion, in general, one needs to be more cognizant. By one, I mean those involved in any thoughtful exchange. Anyhow, how did we get to here? You asked for me to elaborate. If you ask a specific questions then expect to receive a more specific response. The main idea of the initial comment is ‘there aren’t any prosthetics for an amputated spirit’. Thus, anytime one attempts to explain spirit with respect to any tangible context of design, one shouldn’t expect to ‘hear’ “Al Pacino performs with dark intentions well”. I suppose what I’m eluding to is it’s not your fault, nor mine, you’re confused. It’s a matter of a differentiated ability to discern and an anticipated expectation one may pre-maturely have.

Instead of focusing on what happened he expands it to the bigger issue. It doesnt matter whether Charlie is wrong or not. It's not the point. He makes the point that whatever the truth is, he has integrity, he has principles, he has a moral basis. It is so brilliant even from a legal standpoint to just rexamine eveyrhing from an angle they didn't even consider... And he continues. There are larger things at stake. People will make mistakes but who do you trust long term... Who do you want to be in that position... Someone who won't sell out... It is one of a kind. So inspiring.

This is why we see manufactured music, marketing, politicians, films, social media and algorithms, and most recently prescribed agendas hidden under emotive labels such as 'Equality'. Now we see one main genre of music, film and media and even principles and ways of life... Filled with constant mis conceptions and hypocrisy... Our way or the wrong way... That, more than anything else, SELLS this scene. Pacino is TELLING the story, but the real heart and meat of the scene is watching the REACTIONS. Chris O'Donnell's takes here are gold. Obviously Pacino's acting is outstanding, pure Pacino (he just needs the Cuban accent of Scarface or the Puerto Rican flavor from Carlito's Way, lol), but it's the relationship between Slade and Charlie that is the ONLY reason this scene works, and O'Donnell's vulnerability, innocence, and awkwardness are the canvas Pacino paints this monologue on.
