How does garret have green in his deck if his commander is mine black
@@bengamble7033 his activated ability makes his color identity blue/green/black.
Why are the deck lists different? Folger is playing Sygg, which isnât in the givin decklist.
MTG Dr Suess edition - He pays for the Rhystic, but not for the Mystic, Mike gets another treasure and they all go ballistic.
Mad respect to the editor on this one. Managing huge stacks like this is challenging and takes forever.
especially since the players board states looked like a pile of cardboard have the their was a counterwar going on
Yeah. Spikefeeders represent.
New counter spell that counters the entire stack.
Whirlwind Denial
the only thing i can think of for this episode is a quote a friend of mine uses: "real men fight on the stack"
"cast tezzeret the seeker?"
HOLD ON THERE, thats gonna be a long one!
I want that on a shirt
Now thatâs a quote I can get behind
Bullets don't use the stack
Well, that game was for me the definition of "competitive EDH". The amout of decisions, triggers and reactions was unreal.
Blue is a godamn busted color after all !
Beautiful game, can't wait for the next ones
I was laughing at how many triggers were occurring at the same time XD it really was blowing my mind
There aren't many cEDH-viable decks that don't run blue.
blue is a stupid color
Ban islands
Yep, its pretty clear that WOTC loves blue more than the other colors. The only color to get everything even creature removal... Also the most pushed cards ever. Making it the only viable color really.
Mystic Remora: The Movie
Damn, this must be the best edited game I've ever seen, so br00tal
Really it should be called Rhystic Remora: The Movie
That Smothering Tithe just wanted to be a part of every interaction lol
Casting Force of Will to use Misdirection as a counterspell was unnecessary. From the rulings pertaining to Misdirection:
You can choose to make a spell on the stack target this spell (if such a target choice would be legal had the spell been cast while this spell was on the stack). The new target for the deflected spell is not chosen until this spell resolves. This spell is still on the stack when new targets are selected for the spell.
Came here to say this. He likely would have won if he'd done this, too. He could have Misdirection'd the Dovin's Veto onto Misdirection.
Then, when the opponent's Force of Will occurred, he still could have cast Force of Will
@@jdcommander7026 yea that's what i thought, i scrolled down looking for this comment. just redirect the spell to misdirection.
I mean, yeah, unoptimal... But still pretty cool
at that point, dovin's veto was on the stack. You can misdirect dovin's veto to dovin's veto
Canât be countered
I really like that you seem to power these episodes out in shorter time windows (Pun intended ;P). I love your series and I like to see more of it in the future.
A tip for ryan, you can misdirect veto to misdirect and hold up force for a counterable counter
This is definitely an interaction that most people don't know is possible. Any legal target on the stack can be selected. As the Misdirection is still on the stack until it finishes resolving, you can select the misdirection.
This is the 2nd game in a row in this playlist where Garrett performs "the ultimate betrayal" deliberately lying to a player manipulating them to get a card back from his yard only to back out on what he agreed to. You guys need to learn not to trust him in future games, seriously! As for the game, another awesome video! Love the editing and fluidity.
This was one of the coolest edh games I've ever seen, the stack interactions were amazing, and talk about great plays with that force into misdirection line!
That line was actually the biggest misplay in the entire game: He could've just redirected the dovin's veto to misdirection, saving the force.
You dont actually need to cast force there. You can make Dovins Veto target misdirection with misdirection.
From gatherer:
You can choose to make a spell on the stack target this spell (if such a target choice would be legal had the spell been cast while this spell was on the stack). The new target for the deflected spell is not chosen until this spell resolves. This spell is still on the stack when new targets are selected for the spell.
That force of will he played at 16:34 has to target his own rebuild bc dovin veto canât be countered and force of will resolved first so he kinda screwed himself but they didnât notice I guess
@@Cutter_25 You can cast a force of will targeting dovin's veto. It's just that force won't do anything.
Who cares that some arcane rule says there was a better way to do it? What everybody got excited about was Ryan finding a clever way to "counter" dovin's veto, not perfect play. Ryan was really thinking outside the box to come up with that solution, even if some rule book somewhere says it was unnecessary.
Hard to believe only seven turns
That was a wonderful representation of cedh decks and how the stack is represented. The stats at the end were also wonderful. I'd argue this has been your best production yet!
Outstanding game. The stack got so incredible at times and I love how it's laid out on screen and explained. Great work!!
You guys had me literally hooting and hollering watching this game. I cannot understate how much fun I had watching this. That feedback loop with Smothering Tithe and Rhystic/Mystic was insane.
Easily the most insane game you guys have had so far, was an absolute blast to watch!
This gameplay! What a video. Thanks so much for sharing. Thrasios/Vial Smasher is my jam right now, but I also run an Kraum/Tymna wheels deck. Interesting to see this adapted into PST. I like it!
This gameplay is incredible, the pace is just my speed and the editing is A+. The stack and quick explanation of it and the resolutions is incredible. New subscriber here! Love seeing cEDH.
Really love the content, the edition of the video and the thing that I love the most (and I think that's new) is the resume of the game (how many turns, counters, etc).
Holy shit what a game the average stack size was about a billion! Mad props to the editor and scriptwriter that must have been a huge headache! Players were brilliant to, being able to manage the board and stack so well was great, it is why i come here for cedh gameplay
Of all the ways to win the game after drawing your library, I didn't see the Angels Grace into double Windfall coming...
Ryanâs play at 16:45, oml I love this channel
This game was crazy!! Amazing! Loved the misdirection play â€ïž
Commander EDH: Where the only resource that remains from game to game is how much you do or don't keep you word.
I'm forever salty at garrett for his play in last week's video lmao.
Man this episode was awesome! Especially the betrayal!!! Tired of seeing T&T decks win tho :( theyâre just a level above all others.
Awesome game so much interaction was really a pleasure to watch! Those treasures were insane!
I really like these episodes, and have no idea how you make these videos so fast. Keep up the great work
The editing and The play by play commentary are awesome and so was The game!
dude! IT WAS INSANE the stack goes nuts every turn! that was awesome, best missdirection I ever saw my life
Absolutely love this channel. Keep up the great work!!
Wow! Those stack interactions got huge! And damn Smothering Tithe does alot work
This is by FAR the best episode so far
Best presentation of a cEDH game I've seen, hands down
These are the best cEDH videos to watch, the editing is great
Very good visuals for the stack, this game was absolutely nuts and it really helped a lot.
This is just the best game I have ever seen. It was so good that I immediately watched it again because the whole game was straight HEAT
What a game. Loved how insane the stack got this episode
Your commentary is off the hook!! Love these videos!!
Dear god that interaction at the 9 minute mark, mad props to editor for sticking this one out
Amazing edits! Makes cEDH look fun except for when I look at the prices of these decklists. Also actually paying for smothering tithe is new to me.
WOWIE that misdirection play was so cool!
Such an amazing game. Every deck did its thing at some point, the stack was beautiful and Mike won using a really original combination of cards (no boring Lab Man etc.).
Using Windfall over Lab Man is a really smart move too, as by the time you have infinite mana and can draw your deck, what you win with really doesn't matter, so you might as well win with a card that is overall useful instead of one that is a dead draw 99% of the time.
Amazing episode. Keep it up guys!
That was like the kodak moment of edh games. Subbed!
What a game! Great content!
cEDH seems so fun. Wish I had that kind of money.
In any case i appreciate the increased rate you're putting these out! Best channel for cEDH I've found.
Thank you! You can definitely do budget CEDH! We are putting something together for the near future that's budget!
Good Lord that was a spicy game. We drink way to much to mess with all those triggers. Great game, gotta love games were everyone gets action.
Garrett with the betrayal! What a savage
I like to think so
Foil Banana man. I see Garrett is a man of culture.
Holy hell this video was INSANE. To keep track of all the triggers and activations, the hell long stack and the play with the Misdirection. 10/10!!!
Awesome video! I loved it
Wow, what a game! I love it! The best card has to go to Smothering Tithe as a way to combat Mystic and Rhystic
mike's decks are INSANE!! definitely his git-rog, love to see more action of that deck.
Thanks!! Just wait until you see what I brewed up for the games we are recording later this week :D
Only thing left is for Dylan to win with his Oona deck
Tin OlujiÄ SOMEONE GET HIM TO PLAY ALWAYSSLEEPY'S LIST
@@paodomingo can you link it?
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/oona-queen-of-the-storm/
Tin OlujiÄ that one
This was easily one of the most entertaining things I have watched ever. Thank you so much for the amazing content, can't wait for future uploads. Also, that was the coolest outplay I have ever seen. Misdirection onto your own spell. Actually mind blowing.
That was the BEST game of cedh Iâve ever seen. Congratulations.
minus the punt :[
Absolutely love it!
Awesome game guys!
Oh man what a good game. Those stack interactions and animations were fucking incredible.
That was such an insane game!
Great game, gratz!
Wow, that was an awesome game!
16:50 Couldn't you just change the target of Dovin's Veto to Misdirection itself? You didn't have to play Force of Will, right?
yup
Correct. It would've been a better line.
Dat stack doe đ€€ and the misdirection?? đ¶ïž
The force + misdirection play was a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally big misplay, because he could've just chosen the misdirection as the new target for dovin's veto, therefor saving the force of will
@@TomGalonska true. It seems like you shouldn't be able to because you choose new targets as this spell resolves which in my head resolve happens at the same time as the card being put into the yard, but it's not. And the gatherer text verifies.
@@zachking8769 Yeah, when it get's to the exact timing when a spell is put into the grave (or anywhere else) it get's a little confusing.
My favourite use of this interaction is the teferi + knowledge pool lock :D :D :D :D
As much as I hate control, I can most definitely watch these crazy games all day.
You need control decks so degenerate af combo decks can't auto win on turn 3 every game.
Control is only fun when everyone is playing it.
I was not really paying attention, but my god it took me 5 rewinds and about 20 minutes to figure out how the hell he won, and my god was it glorious. Fantastic.
i like the Game Results screen at the end
Jeeze. i thought my buddies Atraxa superfriends deck was CEDH these are nuts.
Any counterspell that doesn't state "Another" can be Misdirected into itself while it is on the stack, since that is a perfectly legal target. It can also be made to target Misdirection, since it is a legal target while resolving the spell, even though it is gone when the spell resolves.
This was so cool to watch, if i had more money this would've convinced me to try cEDH
Ah yes the ol' mystic, rhystic, mystic, rhystic combo
Now i need to know. Which card made Mike think for so long if bottoming it or not?
That was probably the coolest game I've ever seen
Stack just got abused here. Great video!
Gosh, BRUTAL! :D
This game was ridiculous in the best possible sense of the word!
That game was crazy !!
Loving these videos! I am wondering why the narset's reveral was not cast targeting the caster's own force of will, which would create a force copy and leave the caster with a force in hand. Is that not how the card works?
That Misdirection was really impressive. I never even realized you could do that against a Dovin's Veto.
It's even cooler: you can actually misdirect Dovin's Veto and have it target Misdirection. Casting the Force of Will first was unnecessary.
YES!!! ITS HERE!!!
WOW lots of crazy stacks
Those stacks were T H I C C !
THIS is why I'm a subscriber
10:15 - Why did he do that instead of getting a second Mana Vault or something?
16:35 - Wait what? Why did he waste Force of Will like that and how was it a good play? He could have just cast Misdirection to redirect Dovin's Veto to Misdirection. Am I missing something?
Excellent way to finish off the game.
Great job editing, and I always find it fun, the little bit at the beginning of how you determine the person who starts. ^^
You're right about the misdirection play , I thought the same thing
It was because i get blown out by a stifle effect and needed to have a secound one if they destroyed the first one with i casted the other one
Wow that was amazing
Half of the game was "mystic, rhystic, tithe goes on the stack...again"
Awesome match
those stacks were crazy
that was one awesome game :D
wow that stack got s t a c k e d
I wish i could afford to play cEDH so bad, those counter wars were so intense and i really felt like anyone could have one that game at any point in time.
Definitely look into Budget CEDH! budgetbrews.club/ has a lot of great resources to get you started!
2h17m of 'Do you pay 1? Do you pay 2? Thank-you for the edit and stack interactions.
so this is the type of magic that happens at the other end of the room.
Omg the misdirection changing the targets of the dovin's veto was SUCH A GOOD PLAY!! Hats off to that!!
It would have been a good play if he didn't waste the force of will for no reason.
You can misdirect Dovin's and have it target Misdirection.
Garretâs D6 match his commander. Iâm into that level of coordination!
So what is the Razaketh / Life combo? The linked decklist doesn't have Razaketh in it so I can't tell what it would be.
Was the smothering tithe trigger on cephalid colliseum lost in translation?
This game was awesome!!!
Does anyone know if misdirection can't make a spell target misdirection itself? In this game it would have been very relevant!
