2000s was flares, baggy pants, skinny jeans, singlets, big belts, colourful tops and emo style. Never saw girls dressed like the 2000s girl much

Fr I was a teen in 2010 and noone walked around like this. It was more like leggings, leather jackets, airmax and longchomp bags. I agree that the hipster style, male hair bun, long beard, sweater, vegan, skaterboy, … was trending in that time, but girls didn‘t look like that.
VSCO isn't even a "trend" anymore, I really hope my kids don't look at that and think THATs what we wore lol

Although I think to be fair-kinda, and for the sake of this video, I think a better way to have gone about it was to look at what was constantly being pushed on magazine covers and ads to make a fairly accurate definition of what was perceived as hot and in for a particular decade. The VSCO look is still very new imo and there were way more defining looks and trends of the 2000s and 2010s if you ask me.

Glamour sucks at making "decade" lookbooks because they only focus on 1% of the fashion that was popular at the time and as a result it comes of as being "costume like." Perfect example being the 50s outfit. No one would've dressed like that in their day to day life. That was a pretty formal dress, probably designed to wear at a party or a banquet.

I think the reason that they didn’t put that era in was because it wasn’t really main stream it was more of an alternative lifestyle and we look but what they were describing was more of the main stream trends that were affecting the masses and were in the media for most frequently rather than what was a subculture but what was THE culture what was the main idea of being a teenage girl

There were many styles in the 80s, and I think the coolest is denim on denim, the mini skirt, the baggy jeans, rocker chick (or power chick), glam rocker, the denim vest, blazers, sweaters, the belts, and many more!!!

I feel like for 2010's they should've done something more like a vintage pair of mom jeans, since those have been in style for probably the past couple years. also they should've mentioned how a lot of the 2010's style has been influenced by passed decades. Mom jeans, 90's style chokers and crop tops, and 80's oversized jackets and sweaters.

2020s: Pajamas. Pajamas were a popular style of outfit often worn since everyone stayed quarantined so it didn’t matter what you wore. It was often accessorised with messy bed-ridden hair and dark circles under the eyes, often caused by a shortage of sleep that was most likely triggered by endless nights of binging kdramas and spending all day on school zooms doing nothing but rethink ur life.

Yes! It's hard for me (a teen) to tell which one is more popular-- if they did two different styles for 80s - 2010s, it would make more sense than trying to generalize each decade.

The thing is in my opinion 2010s fashion is so split up among each teenager's own personal taste it's kind of hard to define with just one category. I, for example, dress either e-girl style or retro or art hoe-like just depending on what I feel like wearing. There was never just one trend I followed. Idk that's just how i feel.

The 2010’s girl looked more like how I dressed in the 90’s with the exception of the length of the shorts.
I was a teenager in the 90s and i don't remember anyone dressing like that back then. The more prevalent 90s style was more grunge--bulldog shoes, Doc Martens, baby tees, plaid skirts, chokers, tiny backpacks, and neon. Think Empire Records or Dazed and Confused.

I am a black girl and it was actually a trend/popular to straighten your hair early 2000s in America. Everyone I know did.

I love how EVERYONE is talking about Vsco and NOBODY is noticing how much it changed. My great baba is 96-and still going strong- and was born in 1924. Imagine seeing what she has seen in her lifetime, WW2, the fashion, political drama, the people, new inventions. It’s all so crazy to me😮🤍
And who knows! Maybe Vsco wasn’t very popular until 2018ish. (I’m such an uncultured child that I have NO IDEA when Vsco became a trend)
