peaches - original song

I wrote this song back when I was 21 or 22 and I didn’t know how to structure a song properly. It had like 5 distinct sections and was completely incohesive, but I loved the melody and themes. I ended up reworking it a billion and a half times till I settled on it being a 32 bar format song this spring (verse, verse, chorus, verse). This song structure is sometimes called “American Songbook Format” - it used to be more popular back in the early 20th century. Most songs on the radio now follow a verse/chorus/verse/chorus format. Anyway, then I had to figure out how to play the guitar good enough to record it. I have gone through hell and back with this song. There’s another song from age 21/22 that I am still going through hell about, and also one from when I was 18. One day when I am musically informed enough to figure out where I messed up, they shall emerge from the cauldron of my skull to see the light of day.
