  • Tony Jeffries shares how to throw the perfect cross punch in boxing w/ proper form and technique. Cross or your right hand ( or your left if you are a southpaw) is your stronger punch but a bit difficult to land. I showed the common mistakes first when people are throwing their cross then demo the correct way to throw it.

    It's impressive how the little details in boxing can make so much of a difference.
    For example, I had problems with landing the cross, so my coach told me to move my rear foot 2-3 inches away from the lead foot and boom, I was able to land the cross a lot easier.

  • @mahidm1804
    @mahidm1804 Před 2 lety +6

    I'm not a boxer but I've understood this lesson years ago, and have been training for the perfect jab and that perfect cross. I once saw two guys fight outside of a Teso and a taller guy throw a haymaker which I could see from miles away. I had time to contemplate different combinations before he even throw that punch. Its so weird to say this as I'm not a boxer but it's makes so much sense when you understand this video and practise it. The perfect jab or cross is so much more efficient in terms of speed, accuracy, and you reserve so much more energy. Not to mention the obvious, that mechanically its a stronger punch when thrown perfectly.

      @@Tony_Jeffries I started boxing age 11 and took to it like the proverbial duck to water - I was working the heavy bag one night and an Aboriginal guy came up to me and started teaching me - He taught me stuff just because he wanted to - he was the cousin of Lionel Rose the World Champion - I never forgot that which he taught me.

    Thank you. What I personally don't understand about cross is the role of the rear foot. I've been told by my coach that there's sudden jerk/twist which comes from the rear foot and that and the shoulder is where the punch derives it's power from
    I'm making a mistake there

    Editing tip if you edit the temporals on the key frames when the camera is tracked to your hand to a bezier then you wont have the choppy frame rate / jittery animation it will be silky smooth
