Just had my surgery 3 days ago. I found sleeping on a bean bag was the most comfortable for me, as it moulds around your body and supports the shoulder at the same time.

    Hey Bill :)
Its just lovely to see you helping people that have the same issue. So thank you for that.
What i wanted to ask is that are you overall happy with your surgery? I was strolling around youtube and some ppl just not happy that they get it done some of them still have their shoulders dislocated and some of them still have pain on their shoulder some lacking mobilty etc. And since its a slow healing process im not sure if i should get it done. My doctor suggests me to do so but i am not sure entirely.
Its almost been a year since your surgery. And boy do i have some questions :D
Did you reach %100 percent mobilty?
Can you do any sport including body building wrestling boxing etc without even thinking about it ?
In surgery i believe they place some screws inside your bone. Does it beep when you are going through airport X-ray? Or does it bother you at all ?
If you believe you have fully recovered how long did it take you to say that i am %100 back in normal?
Hope i am not bothering you with all those questions. But will do me wonders if you would answer.
    Thank you in advance
    Henry

I am three weeks out this Saturday, right arm and im right handed, purchased a $2000.00 electric chair to sleep in but have not slept in it once, but I will still need the electric recline for a while, I slept in bed on my left side from day one. In the first week I couldn’t even sit in the lazyboy because it was to painful.

Fell down the stairs while holding onto the railing and the weight of my body dislocated my arm and tore my labrum very bad. Went to the ER and got my arm back in location the same day, but my labral tear is so bad that you can physically see my arm still out of socket where it should be. My surgery is in a week and my only fear is the iv injection. Needles are my only irrational fear. Hoping for the best though, your video progress has kind of put me at ease. Speedy recovery!

Good luck on your surgery, I’m in my 3rd week since mine and was freaking out about having it done, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I chose with my surgery not to have the nerve block in my neck, it was a personal choice of mine but was also told by the anesthetist himself not to have it done due to risk of nerve damage. The pain post op was minimal so the nerve block injection was definitely not needed in my case. But wouldn’t stress to much it’s a pretty straight forward op with minimal pain.

Just had my surgery 3 weeks ago, the pain on the first 4 days were pretty high all day and seem to get worse at night (probably a good idea to prop the arm up with a pillow). 4-5 days after surgery I can alr raise my arm to 90° forward. Also I was able to reach for my head to tie my hair around this time too, hurts like a bitch. 2 weeks after surgery there will only be discomfort when I stretch my hand across my body. But now at three weeks, there is little to no pain and my range of movement is improving drastically. Now I can almost raise it straight up and raise it up to 135° sideways. But the external rotation is only to the neutral position. Also the first week after surgery, the shoulder feels really loose just like when I just tore the labrum. But that loose sensation is slowly going away. Not sure whether this is normal for everyone...
I will be going back to work (labour intensive) after 6 weeks
