- shoulder surgery recovery update 1 week post op what to expect:
One week post shoulder surgery update . After having a labral tear in my left shoulder i was left with n option but to have arthroscopic surgery on the rotator cuff in order to repair the damage. This is a quick video to update you guys on my progress and experiences of the surgery process so you are more prepared that i was. Hope you all enjoy and as always LIKE , COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE for more videos.
Cant thank you enough for this. I am having the exact same surgery in a couple weeks and everything you said is so helpful.
Thank you. I’m a very active person as well so watching your recovery videos have been helping me a lot
Hopefully your recovery is quicker than mine and everything goes we’ll 👍
Fantastic mate, such good news that recovery is going well and good post-op tips too. I guess they put a drop of glue on your incisions, my op was a cut about 7cm and they used glue for that.
Yessssss glad to know it’s going good 🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽
With a Breg ice machine I was sleeping 5 hours a night from the very beginning. I had a partial rotator cuff patch installed , a torn labrum, a bone spur removed, and a torn bicep tendon. Pain is still pretty serious with therapy every day but it is manageable. And I’m still using the ice machine. Good healing !
Thank you for making me less scared! I have this same surgery in a week
How it gone ??
I think you should wait to see you’re a doctor but I’m impressed that they have and send you to physical therapy or home physical therapy I got surgery on my shoulder on October 11 I got out the hospital on the 13 and afternoon and I started home Physical Therapy this past Tuesday and I have stitches
Good info, I'm going under the knife next month thx
I think putting a small soft piece of cloth under your arm after you've washed and dried could help with the sweating and irritation and stink. Maybe even spray some Deodorant on the cloth first. Then just tuck it up in there. (making notes for myself so I'll be prepared when I have my surgery)
did you ever have any oh crap moments? Im just about 1 week in and sometimes, I have spazzes or i jerk my arm the wrong way. Trying to follow the surgeons direction as best as possible but I am just too active. Should I be worried?
what brand is that sling
Thank you for the video !! Had an arthroscopic bankart repair on left shoulder and pain at rest without medication is already gone 5 days after surgery !
Bro so how are u now ?? Plz reply
@@zohebansari6429 it's back to 100% i would say. Glad i got it done, I went snowboarding all winter without worrying about a dislocated shoulder. The downside was 6+ month of healing where i'd have to pay attention to not make sudden movement as it would hurt.
If you have this problem and the opportunity to get it fixed take it 🤘
@@max1994dude so glad to hear bro u are doing great ...i got my first dislocation last week ,got MRI and doctor suggest bankart repair but i guess i will not go too early since it is my first dislocation may be it heal naturally if not then surely will go for surgery
Hello i had the same surgery 2 weeks ago.
Facing very much pain as shoulder become stiffed or jammed. Just need to know that now what you feel
After having this surgery.shoulder is working normal or any kind of issue is there?
I have a torn bicep tendon along with a labrum tear so I will have to deal with a stiff elbow
I'm feeling these growing pain- like pain in the shoulder that got the surgery. Did anyone else get this?
I was due to have my left shoulder replaced last march. Instead I bought a Harley.. Yeah My wife thought that was a real SMART move. I moved it to this December then thought...MRI, pre op, post op, Possible infection, 6 weeks in a sling, sleeping in a lazy Boy, physical therapy..Etc
Hey at 69 you're suppose to feel like crap. I'll suck it up and ride till the pain becomes unbearable, or till grandma makes a left turn in front of me..
Inspirational
Did you modify your diet in any way since you weren't as active?
You are so awesome, peppy and positive, love all that, coming from someone who has terrible general anxiety disorder, I was sooo fearful, more about the anesthesia and block, rather than any pain.
Anyway, I just had a rotator cuff decompression done, going on to day 4 post op......where does time fly? I’ve only had to take two of pain pills, so far, and lots of icing. I was so relieved to discover, that if I surrounded myself by about 6 or 7 pillows, I was actually able to sort of sleep on my right side, with my ice pack laying on my left shoulder, IN MY BED! Yes, I’ve been sleeping LOL😴
I bought an ice therapy machine, which really wasn’t all that great, more hassle than it was worth, but good to have all the same, so far I’ve only used it twice, but I can’t seem to get it to hit the very top of my shoulder, hence the ice bags. I kept a little basket on my bed, to keep chap stick, moisturizer, iPhone and chargers etc in, great idea, if I say so myself.
Been doing my pendulum exercises second day and today, I’ve also been up and walking around the house and went out with hubby to walk the dogs last night and tonight, just short walks tho.
Looking forward to getting in the pool and starting PT in 12 days, thank you so much for posting your videos, I will be following from now on, I may even make a quick one of my own.😬
This video educate me I'll be undergo same procedure to you thanks for sharing this video
I also got it done finally....
Hey I’m having my labrium surgery December 20th and wanted to know what sling you used for your post surgery
Thomas Hawk they put that exact same one on you while you’re waking up from your surgery, I just had my surgery yesterday so believe me
Did you use a shoulder ice machine and a shoulder CPM machine post surgery for healing?
I did, I show that machine in one of my update videos and how to use it
Thank you. Also one more thing, if you don’t mind saying would u get the nerve block?
Honestly I’m no longer sure if I had it or not. They have me gas to breathe and a needle in my arm. Not sure which one knocked me out. Why do you ask
trainingwithbill I have heard some things about it and I’m not sure if it is good or not
I just double checked and I did have the block during surgery. That’s why my arm was numb for so long. Speak to the surgeon he would know best
trainingwithbill ok thank you so much I hope you keep pushing through and getting better
Ryan Feskanich nerve block 100%
I had this done and anyone can check my videos to view how the first 3 days went. I am wondering something kinda massive trainingwithbill, during your before surgery and while recovering did you have sharp pain in your back between your shoulder blades? I have pain there all the time but I also have herniated disc in that area as well, having all these straps around me just makes it worse but I was thinking how great it would be if the surgery fixed my shoulder to where the back muscles don’t have to hold it in place and therefore be in a lot less pain. So I know the dr said my shoulder was unstable and all the muscles were over working to hold it in place but hearing it from you would be a plus. So did you ever have back pain right between the shoulder blades and underneath while all this was going on???
Hi kitty I'm 6 weeks done rotator cuff surgery and I have the same back pain. How u doing now?
Emirates Pride hi there. My pain has eased a lot. I need to update my channel with everything but there are times when I move my shoulder a certain way the pain is off the damn charts. I hope you get feeling better soon, it’s a very long process.
@@threatt1000 First of all great to hear that u r doing well. In my case I'm suffering from back and bicep pain specially while sleeping. And I after physiotherapy exercises i feel some stiffness in my shoulder, Doctor told me apply heat in my shoulder everyday. And my friend told me apply icing everyday now I'm confused. Did u ever apply heat?
Emirates Pride I never once used heat. I had also just started physical therapy not to long ago but I stick to meds and ice. Ice unlike heat stops the nerve pain, heat actually relaxes the muscles in some ways. Some say switch between heat and ice. All cases are different so find what works for you. Lidocaine icy hot may also help you with pain. I used that and ice myself, I will never use heat on injuries like this. I do hope my advice helps you and eases the healing process for you.
@@threatt1000 thank you for your quick reply 🙏🏻😇 I have one more question after physiotherapy exercises have you exprerinced pain?
I’m have a labrum tear surgery on my left shoulder next Monday. I have a thousand questions but one of my biggest questions is do you have any scarring?
how you doing?
Not something to look foward to 🙄
Just anterior labral tear on my right surgery and I think recovery is going well. Pain died down to tolerable without meds a couple days after surgery. No pain anymore. Any tips?
How's it going?
@@NBAStatsGuru It's going great! No pain and a stable shoulder. 100% recommend to anyone
@@gracier2718 how long were you in a sling and how long till you could drive? Thanks for the response.
@@NBAStatsGuru Normally people are in a sling for 4 weeks, but I was in a sling for a little shy of 4 weeks (3 wks 3 days). It really all depends on how you're doing and healing, I was younger doing the surgery so I healed faster, but as long as you listen to your drs to T you're good to go. Since I still had my parents to drive me, I didn't drive until I was in the middle of my pt therapy (personal preference), but you could probably drive when you get your sling off as it isn't advised that you drive with your sling. Also, after you get your sling off, you're probably going to have a weight restriction of about 5 pounds.
@@gracier2718 thanks a lot Gracie!
Bidet was a life saver worth the 50$
this sounds brutal
i had a surgery on may 22 of this year and i have a month of rehabilition and i just wonder if how long in total will be healed or move my right shoulder was on surgury? is there any negavites side efects about the surgery? at this point is really pain, im kinda sad that i can not do a lot of moves before the surgurey :O( i have 4 holes in my right arm and sometimes i cant sleep at night.
francisco j hernandez how is your recovery? Mine is 3 months in and It still pops. Does yours pop as well?
@@armandodavizon hi deigo do still in pain? I'm 6weeks pain like hell
Dude in the video is fucked for life still feels likes disloacting and POPPING and clicking
Who else is having this tm?
They use glue now, not stitches so much.
Betty Smith I just had mine done on 1-6-20 and they glued my 2 wounds shut.
Hi I’m getting the same surgery what is the worst part of it?
The slow recovery. I’m a very active person and to be restricted is killing me
Hi Ryan have u done surgery?
@@trainingwithbill2067 hi dear, 6 weeks it's pain like hell specially after physiotherapy session. Is it normal that u will be in pain for 3 to 4 months?
Just got mine this morning had trouble pissing after but my gfs been helping thank god i love that woman ima make an update soon
