I’ve been watching videos trying to figure out what I want & more importantly what I can do myself. Anyway, all I’ve watched said having wet hair makes it color more, brighter. Said your hair cuticles are already opened so it takes less time. 🤷♀️
It all depends on what your hair type is…. Sometimes it will lift great with fine non colored hair but sometimes it hasn’t sat on long enough
Actually, wet hair dilutes the bleach, so you would normally have to use at least a 20 volume developer to get lift and leave it on much longer than 10 minutes. If you watch professionals doing wet balayage, they normally use either 20, 30 or even 40 volume developer and leave it on for 30, 40 to 50 minutes, depending on how dark your hair is and if it's already been colored with permanent dye, it takes a higher developer to lift through the previous color. So keep that in mind. Her darkest hair is already blonde so she got away with 10 volume. 10 is supposed to be deposit only, it takes at least 20 vol to lift the hair. Without foils, which conduct heat that lifts the hair faster, is another reason to use stronger developer and to let it process longer.
