After enduring several hair salon mishaps, including unwanted color, stained hair, and a taffy hair mess, I decided to take matters into my own hands for my next makeover. Following your tutorial to the letter, I can't help but feel like I'm floating on cloud nine with the result I achieved! I can't help but smile from ear to ear every time I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror!
Right from the start, I had a coppery look in mind, so I ventured into bleaching using 10 volumes, did it because I was affraid to mess it up but it was all worth it. After the bleaching, I applied the dye, and voilà! My hair transformed into a cascade of radiant copper shades that seem to shimmer under any light. It's simply spectacular.
But the best part of it all is that my hair feels healthy and lustrous; No more regrets or disappointments when I look at my reflection. I feel filled with confidence thanks to this incredible DIY experience. All of this is thanks to you and your expert advice.
So, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you endlessly for taking the time to post this.

I do my sister’s and my own hair during the summer, and this summer we decided to do balayage on her before adding some semi-permanent color. I was SO HAPPY to see a Brad Mondo Tutorial on how to do it because my mom and I are both fans! She thinks you are hilarious and such a personality! You get all the brownie points in this house!
Interesting how he said the hair school attended was more "technical" than he is now. Vision + personal technique + experience + talent = outcome. So important to find the right hairdresser for YOU.

When thinking about a career, hairstylist has always been in the back of my mind. It wasn’t until I started watching brads tutorial videos that I realized this is definitely the career for me! Listening to him explain all of the techniques is one of my favorite things ❤️
Guys I did it on myself and it honestly came out soooo beautiful!! Thank you Brad Mondo, this worked amazingly 😍 I did use a 20 volume on my hair because I have a lot of hair and it's long so I was scared that it would go too quick and I'm already dark blonde to begin with, just wanted a nice little lift to a medium blonde and it worked amazingly! Since it was my first time I was a bit slow, so I did rinse out Tha back first and the front just 20 minutes afterwards.
Did you use a toner? And if u did which one?
@@maribel11899melanie I didn't use a toner because it already came out in a nice warm blonde color since my natural hair was dark ashy blonde before. However, I did use the no yellow purple shampoo by Fanola and it definitely made a lasting difference. I use it every 2 months now maybe, whenever I feel like the colour needs some cooling. Hope that helped!

I just eyeball my lightener to developer ratio as well. My instructor in cosmetology school always had me mix to a “marshmallow fluff” consistency so it’s not overly thick or runny.
This was perfect timing. I just came home with bleach and was wanting to do this on myself. It’s the hair gods telling me to go for it! Thanks, Brad!

I've tried back combing my sections, and that has worked wonderfully in giving a smoothly blended look.

I agree! I have been a stylist for 17 years. That being said I'm outdated on lots of techniques. This video was everything I want in a tutorial. Brad is so adorable. Hilarious and damn good at his craft. I'm so glad I I randomly stumbled upon him. Following him for life now! For everyone saying too dark, if you are professional you would know that you can choose the shade of the toner. Love ya Brad

One thing that works nicely instead of rinsing sections out at different times is start with lower developer like 10 or 20 and end with 40 depending on your speed. It works excellent. Cheers.

I agree! I think the reason Brad did it like this is because beginners probably don't have more than 1bottle of developer, although you could get liie a 10 and 40 and mix to the desired vol but I don't know if that is beginner friendly lol. Just my thoughts:)

I say do it and if you don't like it go brown instead of black hair dye.
You shouldn’t perfect balayage when hitting your hair with the bleach. You don’t want any harsh lines.

I honestly learned so much from this video. Everything that I questioned before and couldn't find is here! Yayyy! 😆 since my hubby does my balayage, we had some incidents lol what saved my hair was the hair highlighting cap to give my balayage that full highlight look. But it also depends if you want those shadows, then I might not recommend it.

I always hi-light my hair myself, and color my roots. I love using Shades EQ toner as well. If a few pieces get to light, boom the Shades EQ takes care of it.

Stylist here! Using a paddle is super helpful to use to paint excess bleach on and spread on the paddle! Also I use a separate brush to get all messy in the bowl and use a fresh one so your brush is always clean and can have even clean saturation! Sorry if I described this horribly
