- Just more work of my RE2 fan film remake. I wasn't going to post this yet, but after whats been going down with the RE2 Remake not bringing back Alyson Court to voice Claire.....I want to try and figure out ways to let Capcom know that is a mistake! It's just not Claire without her!

I really love Alyson Court as Claire. she's just perfect. She was the soul of the character. I was a bit disappointed about Revelations 2 for not having her voice Claire :-(

@@SwiftieLuma of course it's an improvement over the first game, but the first game's voice acting was fucking atrocious, and RE2 still got some wonky ass acting, and though the script is also kinda silly, lines like "it looks your party has been canceled" could work, if they were acted differently, Alyson was good as Claire, but it's still far from Metal Gear level acting.

I love your cinematography of this, if thats the right word. Panning of the camera, close up on the eyes, even that looking through the water. Awesome work.
Thank you! Its definitely a bit rough right now though! Some of the rendering didn't work correctly and it may be a plugin issue for my program. The textures for her hair and eyelashes for the Mayor's daughter, that water vase on the table, and some of the camera shots aren't up to my standards. Same with some of the animations, but they were mostly for blocking in the scene. Hope to make it much better in the future. Set design is killing me thoug!. Having to reconstruct the RPD and the surrounding streets is gonna take awhile! Glad you enjoyed it though!

I watched this already some time ago, but my God I still love seeing it. The remake was fine, but it pains me that it wasn't as faithful as this vid, and that's including the graphics. Thanks again for this, I really hope you will do more be of these.
This is better than anything in the actual remake we got. So insulting of them to remove this and other key scenes while changing around what they kept. All of the emotion and creepy ambiance is gone. Wish you could do every scene so we can have a proper remake.
Well I'm actually remaking the game as a fan film. It's taking me awhile to finish because I have 3 jobs at the moment. That combined with it just being a lot of work, but things are still progressing on it! I usually try to post small updates every so often.
@@Atlier Well that's a relief to hear you're not done with it :) I just assumed you only did this much of it for fun. Exceptionally talented and nostalgic! Yeah I know that can all be a lot to deal with :/ But no rush or pressure! So long as a fellow fan is interested in making such a project, I say it's worth the wait no matter how long. I wish Capcom hadn't rushed the remake in areas outside of gameplay. Best of luck. We all look forward to the finished film!

The best Chief irons encounter, hands down 🏆 Great CGI and borrowed assets from RE Darkside Chronicles , , would love for this to be fully completed fan-game remake because its freaking awesome 👍😎👍

It's not just Alyson Court but every actor that's been here for 20 years is all Union except the people that did the voice acting and mocap for RE7.
You should make some scenes from Code Veronica with this, that'd be awesome, like the intro or maybe her first meeting with Steve or even Alfred.

That reimagination, besides the subjectif parts, had plenty of unneeded/questionable changes to scenario and characters among other things.

Even though we are getting the RE2 remake. I hope we get RE2 remaster someday too where they dont change anything and keep everything the same (storyline, soundtracks, voice actors, the dialogues etc). except for the graphics...
Miranda Saliu that would be pretty cool, but we'd probably only get that through a fan project of some kind. Guess we'll just have to see what Capcom does with the Remake first.

I've thought about this a lot and I think the reason why it took us off guard so much is because they just haven't done enough stuff with Claire. She's been in a few games but the time gap can't be denied. All of a sudden they age this character and change her voice and yet we're just not ready. We weren't able to slowly transition into it. If anything they should make more games with her in it that help fill the time gap. Maybe provide more insight to what changed about her over the years. What things did she go through? Were there any incidents that she got caught up in? That sort of thing. We basically need for them to tell the whole story about the time she wasn't on screen. Of course we're going to freak out when she comes back like this and we know nothing about current her. It's just a natural reaction.

I wish they would but it's doubtful sadly. Even in the upcoming re2 remake will probably either have a new Claire in it. Or the one from revaltions.

I swear I didn't lol! I've been working on stuff for a few months, but it's been taking awhile to finish things. I've been trying to recreate the RPD, Raccoon City's streets, several characters, props, and everything in between. From there, I've been trying to make sure rigging and physics are right for the shots I need in the future. I sometimes need to take breaks on certain projects so I don't burn myself out, which is why I switched to a Persona project for awhile. Ill try and post something soon, because the Remake of 2 has inspired me again!

cyberayne I have no doubts that RE2 Remake will look amazing....but I fear the changes they will make to story, character design, and music.
Since they scan in everything for the RE engine, I'm just worried about how everyone is going to look and sound. Plus all the characters in RE7 looked grey the whole damn game, even in better lighting. RE2 was a pretty colorful game.
You should work with Rod Lima and his remake fan game. He needed a bit help on the cinematic cutscenes. It'll smack the face on Capcom for being lazy on their RE2 Anniversary project haha.

Resident Evil 2 was just revealed at E3 2018 and while that looks fantastic, I was REALLY hoping for a remake with style of your vids (good graphics but not photorealistic ). Maybe someday a indie studio or a bunch of modders will get it done!
Thanks for the compliment! I saw the trailers and was hyped until I saw Claire's redesign....I just don't like it. They completely remade her to look more like Zoey from Left 4 Dead. Leon, of course, gets treated with more respect and looks more like his RE2 self. I'm hoping I can get over it, but since Claire is my favorite character...its gonna be extremely hard.
Hopefully, a modder will be able to make a Alyson Court model or a Darkside Chronicles model. Her redesign isn't bad or ugly, but Leon actually looks like a younger version of himself while Claire looks like a completely different person and the inconsistency bothers the hell outta me (same for Revelations 2).
after RE7 it would be weird for the game not to look realistic and the other games were meant to look kind of realistic as well, (well, as realistic as they could at least) even in the first RE game with live action FMVs for the beginning and endings
Sure, but all the games in between the first RE and RE7 used 3D models and that what most people identify the characters best over the years, I would have liked to play RE2 with the models similar to Atlier's videos. Also, the outcry from the fans over RE7's Chris' face stems from how much he does not look like RE5 and RE6 Chris and this is the problem I have with RE2 Remake Claire. With the right artist, it is very possible to make her model from the Darkside Chronicles cut-scenes look very life like while closely resembling her base image. Instead, it feels like Capcom chose a easier/cheaper/lazier method and just used a scanner without hiring an artist at all. I don't know if Leon's face had any artist input, or they were able to find someone who looked like a younger RE6 Leon, but I feel they could have tried harder with Claire's face.
ichigouzumaki89 first of all: Mocap only scans movement, they still have to model the faces so artists ARE still required, and it's not like you can just mocap everything and be done with it, they have to animate clothes, hair correct some glitches that might occur and polish the mocap in general, it's still a lot of work.
second: i get why people think Claire is getting overlooked and i kind of agree, she looks just a bit too young and her new voice doesn't stand out like the old Claire or even the new Leon from the demo but i still think she was pretty good, hoping to see more of her before the release, besides that i like her new design a lot my only gripe i have is her jacket, i like the intense red of it, but it would have been perfect if it had the "made in heaven" logo from the old design, but other than that i like it.
and third: i was more against Chris's change in RE5 than the RE7 one honestly, he looked like Nathan Drake on steroids, hell even the voice was similair! i like his looks in RE7, it's a modern older version of the old RE1 Chris, i get that people have to get used to it since it's such a drastic change but it was for the better in my opinion, it's a sign that Capcom is done with the dumb action downward spiral the series has gone through.

To be fair, the voice of Claire in Revelations 2 was an excellent voice actor, so it's not like it would be a bad thing if she was used again. Did you ever consider that maybe it was Alyson's choice not to come back, whatever the reason may be? Has she ever commented on the matter? I like Alyson's voice too, but maybe you should be more respectful of her wishes in this situation.
EDIT: I looked into it. Capcom didn't choose to not bring back Alyson. They chose to switch to hiring non-union voice actors, and Alyson is union. I'm sure if Alyson left the union, Capcom would pick her up in a heartbeat. Of course, Capcom could just as easily change their mind about hiring union actors.
ClaTheNinja every knows they went non union. Thats why people are pissed. They have to replace everyone. Leon, Ada, Sherry....its just stupid. The company Capcom hired are being cheap asses.
As for the chick who voice Claire, she was not right for the part.....at all. If you are gonna replace an actor after having done the voice for 15+ years, at least get a decent sound a like.
What programs did you use? The models look great, did you make them from scratch?
Johnny Doe They are mesh mods from the actual game models and other game models. I use 3d studio max to edit them and change up the rigging if need be.

Not just no Alyson Court, but Courtenay Taylor won't be returning as Ada either, not even Matt Mercer is reprising Leon (getting real sick of Leon's voice changing all the time, Mercer is perfect for him) and for the people saying "It's voice acting was terrible in Re2 it's called remake for a reason" it's also been 20 years, these voice actors have improved and are not the same as they were, and OBVIOUSLY the same dialogue will not be re-used. Mercer, Taylor, and Court would have been perfect to reprise their roles, Capcom is making a mistake with the fans in my opinion.

mobious01 The strike had nothing to do with it as they chose to go non union MONTHS before it even happened. Alyson has already mentioned this in her videos. Formosa (the company Capcom hired) decided to be CHEAP.

I love Alyson Court as Claire but it's clearly not going to happen , Doesn't mean the RE2 remake wont be a great game, RE1 and RE1 remake all used different voices and RE1 remake is now on of the fans most popular RE games. Sometimes we just have to let these little things go , we will always have the classic RE2 game and many other RE games she has voiced. I was upset she didn't voice her in Revelations 2 but I also didn't hate the actress that replaced her and REV2 is now one of my most favorite games next to RE2 and CV. Very well done video as well btw.

Re1 voice acting was a joke that's why they replaced the staff in remake, actually that's why they remade the whole game in the first place, while bringing it to the gamecube they wanted to give the game an overhaul but instead ended up doing too much that they decided to remake it, also Claire's voice never changed up until REV 2, the animated movie she appeared in, CV, Darkside Chronicles, all had the same voice acting for Claire, it was sad that they would change it after all these years when its basically her iconic voice throughout every game entry, and the fact that it was a money issue makes me even more pissed at Capcom.
People tryna say Alyson Court wasnt good in this, like duh its done in sound bites. You just gona forget all her memorable performances from Code Veronica?

This is a way older version of her model that was missing the belt. My newer version has it.

That's honestly just how her model was in Revelations 2 lol. I didn't really mess with the face too much, other than her nose(which was terrible).
