    Have customers used the Kayarms on floating docks?

      We have thousdands of customers who have installed the KayaArm on floating docks ~30-40% of our customers have floating docks. The KayaArm height is adjusted so that the tip is ~1" above the water and only carries a small fraction of the total weight of the kayak and kayaker during stabilization (the bulk of the total weight is carried by the bouancy of the kayak in the water. That being said you don't want a varying load on your dock when launching your kayak. One customer did write to tell us that she would set the height of the KayaArm with her on the dock but if her husband came over to "help" her launch her kayak like he used to have to do before they bought a KayaArm that the floating dock would submerge a little and she would need to set it higher. She says he has now gotten used to the fact that she can launch her kayak independantly and doesn't come over to help anymore.

      @@rwirsig1 makes perfect sense. Thanks for the quick reply.

      Another couple questions... Can you give more background as to why you wouldn't adjust the second KayaArm in the same manner as the first one (if a two arm system that supports lift and storage) when supporting entry/exit for a canoe aplication?
      Also, has anyone reported how the KayaArm works with an inflated kayak that has a soft air-filled floor and no keel/V shape to the hull?
      Is shipping to the US an issue?

      @@ebachy Only one KayaArm is required for stabilization, a second can be added to provide lift & storage capability. If you were to set the second KayaArm at the stabilization height it you make it difficult to get your kayak off of it when you launch (leave) and more difficult to pull yourself and kayak up onto on your return, further more it does not increase launch stability (the KayaArm was designed by an Engineer it is a brilliantly simple, unobtrusive design that employs simple rules of physics - eg the most stable stool is one with three legs (tripod)). We have a few customers with inflatable kayaks. We ship everyday to the USA. Please see our website at www.KayaArm.com for more information inlcuding our FAQ's page. We also have a contact form on our website where you can send us specific details of your application including pictures.

    What is the weight limit?

    • @rwirsig1
      @rwirsig1  Před 8 měsíci

      The arm supports only a portion of the kayaker’s weight during entry and exit and the buoyancy of the kayak in the water supports the bulk of the weight. As a result, the kayaker’s weight is not a concern. I have linked a video showing the KayaArms strength here: czcams.com/video/oKOWi2xVBS4/video.html
