How to Hit Offshore Structure First Cast Every Time! | Offshore Bass Fishing Tips

  • When I first started fishing offshore, I struggled to make my casts land on or near the spots I saw of my fish finder. However, over the years, I developed 2 techniques that allow me to hit offshore spots I see or mark on my graph on my first cast, every time! In this video, I show you both techniques and also explain how to read a fish finder or graph to maximize your efficiency next time you fish for bass on offshore structure. Hope you enjoy!

For many many years graphs have confused me,and I just give up tinkering with the units and fish ! I have watched so many of your videos and I understand what I have been missing. The thing is, no one teaches you in depth like you do. They tell you just enough to razzle and dazzle you to buy the expensive equipment. I have never mastered or come close to being an offshore fisherman, and that's where they stack up. I always go back to plucking the banks because that's where I'm comfortable. I believe you might just get me offshore. Thanks for you awesome work and videos !

I'm a little late, but I love this. Everybody else is telling their viewers what baits to use deep and how to retrieve them, which is great, but doesn't do a lot for those of us that still have questions about how to find fish deep and stay on top of them. You're the man. My lake is highly pressured and small, which means the shallow fish get hit constantly. I'm moving deep next year and taking these tips with me.

Another great video. This has been something that I have really struggled with is marking something then being able to turn around come back and cast to it. Part of my problem was having the map orientation at bow set to heading up and like you said when I turn the boat around the map flips and I can't seem to fish the structure I marked. I'm going to play around with what I learned from this video on the water this weekend. I just found your channel and I have only watched 2 of your videos so far and you have taught me so much already. I will be watching more. Thank you for really breaking it down and really explaining things very well. I like your in boat and out of boat style at explaining. That really brings it all together. The way you show the map and images on the computer really help and add to what you are showing on the water. That extra off the what illustrations and explaining puts you above the rest. Great job keep up the good work.

Get a heading sensor (AS-GPS-HS) and put your chart on heading up, this will make your life 10x easier since the map and your boat direction will always be true to exactly how you're pointing. I have the same graph set up as you, onix 10 at console and 998c at the bow. This works great for me. I usually drop a waypoint or two on the structure to give it a "outline" and then drop a waypoint where I want the boat to be.
