    Best fishing videos on YT... thank you for not just being a 15min expensive gear advertisement

  • @oldmanbassfishingarizona5706

    Johnny I watched this video a year ago, a time or two since and again now. You offer the best descriptions of anyone. Hope you make it to Arizona some time. Fishing here seems harder. More time looking in all the wrong places, more effort, less bites. With 100+ degree temperature plus 80+ degree water and fish going deep any little tidbits to find fish helps. Can’t catch em if ya can’t find em. Thanks.

      Your comment is kinda old but to do this kind of fishing, IMO, you are actually better off buying an old used high end graph then the weaker "consumer grade". The cheaper ones don't have enough power to watch your bait much past 20-25' (unless you have big weight on bottom for better ping return). Many times in heat of summer, you will want to be in 40-50' of water....at least on Table Rock. Spots will set up 30' in tree tops over 50' of water. Also if a thermalcline sets in summer, they can be 35ish feet.

    learning the electronics you have will help you catch more fish! I use mine mostly for ice fishing and i catch 75% more fish in the last couple years vs when i didn't own one. I also map out lakes in the open water season which has really helped my catching rates!!

    Great video! I do the same method on the Missouri River walleye fishing. The only difference is we use jigging raps! Sometimes it helps to go to 83kil instead of 200 to find the fish then switch to 200 to zero in on them. Especially in 20-40 feet of water!

  • @ouncesthebasssnatcher5255

    Yep, been doing this with an X70a since the mid 90's. I'm only findung your vids now, because I am considering upgrading to a SI/360, active eventually.
    Oh and my X70a draws arches at a much slower speed than your saying it takes. Any movement for a few feet from trolling motor will catch them, if they are mostly stationary. Good vid keep it up!

      The cone of transducer is (unless its widescan) is 1/3 the depth of water so your cone would only be 3'. I would be concerned your presence overhead would spook fish with only 10'

    Just OK few things you seem to guess at. Duel beam select is a great way to pinpoint. Clear mode, you will not get the most data ,Select max mode than use your sensitivity to filter. Hooks have nothing to do with boat speed. Hooks are fish moving out of the beam, that's all. Dont forget chart speed will help data update & to locate fish in relation to your transducer .Do a little more homework . I believe you are on the way to some good info !

    • @PayNoTaxes0GetNoVote
      @PayNoTaxes0GetNoVote Před 3 lety

      By "hooks" I'm assuming you are talking about "arches". TECHNICALLY, boat speed does not have anything to do with "arch" returns, it ACTUALLY has to do with how the fish enters and exits the sonar cone. If the boat is MOVING and a fish is stationary, it has EVERYTHING to do with boat movements to get a nice arch. However, of the boat is stationary, the fish can pass through the cone quickly to create an arch. Maybe "do a little more homework".
