2024: you can now find the upright tissue canisters at Target. Good luck finding the smooth sided 32 oz. mason jars though.
Foam board works much better than card stock.
I find that anything stiffer makes it where the tissues don't come out well.
@@AngieHolden have you tried the round, thin cork boards from DT? They are much thinner than foam board and work good too. I have a hard time getting my hands on them though.
That might be an option! I just know I had to go pretty thin on this to get the tissues to come out like I wanted!
can you just set the whole original tissue box lid and all into the mason jar? will it fit?
I don't think so.
My tissues won't come out love this
Use a cardstock that is not as thick or open up the opening more.

You could do an epoxy similar to the way people do epoxy tumblers. Or you could use outdoor Mod Podge.

This stayed on for YEARS until I donated it.

Scissors or a craft knife.

What size is the jar????
It is a quart size with a wide mouth lid.
@@AngieHolden Sorry to contradict, yes, Angie's is with a large mouth, but they can work perfectly fine with the regular mouth qt. jar and have been every year I make them. This way, the target kleenex canister top insert fits right into the lid of the mason jar (without the outer top ring of the kleenex canister) so you don't have to make the cardboard/stock insert. Check out this other mason jar tissue holder tutorial on CZcams, it'll show you: Kayla's Cricut Creations - DIY Mason Jar Kleenex Holder at time stamp 9:50, it shows you how to use the kleenex canister insert itself, it's so easy - but if you want to fancy it up with cardstock, you can also do it that way, wide mouth or regular mouth. Good Luck.
