I know what I'm making for mother's day gifts! Very clear instructions. TFS
Great project. ❤️ I use an old plastic lazy Suzan when spray painting. Makes it easier!!
You did that so nicely. Professional. Luvit luvit! Thank you for sharing!
This is the most professional job I've seen in a long time on CZcams. Thank you for your time. Very nice work.
Thank you very much.
These are so cute would make a great teachers gift for teachers week .God bless
Thank you. Yes, they would make great teachers gifts.
Adorable. Great tutorial, thanks for sharing.
Thanks. And you’re welcome.
Beautiful! Original! Lovely! Made with lots of patience and love! 💙💙💙
Thanks.
This is one of the best tutorials I've seen in a while. Not a lot of stuff I didn't need to know just the basics and to the point, but yet it told me everything I needed to know to make them. Thanks so much. Perfect!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you liked this tutorial.
Thank you so much for sharing. Beautiful, interesting and original tissue holder. I'm going to make these for everyone!
Thanks.
I enjoyed watching your step by step directions for the tissue dispensers and will make them. Thank you.
You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked it. If you have anymore questions, please ask.
Kelly, thanks for calmly and perfectly patiently explaining the steps. I think everyone would love one of these and I am gonna try! I am not great with a spay paint and it is cold here in NC. Mary
Awesome craft, especially to gift!!
Thanks. I have gifted most of these. I did keep one for myself, though.
i've looked at many mason jar ideas, and yours have such a nice touch ! great look and idea! thanks for sharing!
Thank you. I’m glad you liked them.
Excellent Video! Thanks for Sharing
Thank you.
Wonderfully done tutorial, clear and easy to follow. will be making these for my church family ty for Christmas
Very thorough explanation and very neat and professional looking jars. A++
Cute idea for office gifts!
Perfect! Beautifully done! Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial!
You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked it.
These are adorable!
Thanks for sharing, great idea.
Thanks.
Instead of using felt I used the ring that came with the tissues. It just pops right out, whereas you don’t have to use felt and make a slit. The tissue ring is the same size as the mouth of the mason jar.
@Alejandro Ismael why would post something stupid like this here? Trust me I have reported you!
Thank you. I reported him, too.
This was such a nice video and easy to follow that's why I watched to the end. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.
Too Cute! ☺️ What a great idea 👍
Loved it
First time watching. I so love this! Awesome idea!
Cute Idea thanks for sharing
You’re welcome. Thanks for the compliment. I’m glad you liked it.
I love these, so pretty and a great ideal. Never seen anyone do this with mason jars. Tfs, hope you have a blessed day 😊
Thanks. I am glad you liked it . You have a blessed day, too.
Wow good idea!
What a beautiful gift this would be for a sick friend, or, for a therapist!
Yes, it would .
Those are beautiful!!!😊
Thank you.
I love this idea..thank you!
You’re welcome.
Cute idea!!
Thank you.
Beautiful!.
Thanks.
I love these!, why do they need to be put in the oven
These are so cute!
Thanks.
Kelly, This is a new wonderful craft idea for me - easy for my budget to make for craft sales. I had an idea for them too. I woke up this morning and my pet was ill so my sister and I took Butterscotch to the vet and they had displayed around the average looking boxes of tissues. I wanted to make a craft as a thank you for this awesome vet clinic but, couldn't think of one - but, I think I will make a couple of these and I have a friend that has a vinyl cutter - I can maybe put a silhouette of a dog or cat on the jars. I save my plastic and glass small jars for different crafts but, this one is awesome. This is the first time I have ever commented on a you tube video as I am a dummy with techy stuff so I hope this sends. Sorry for the length. Sincerely,
Rebekah in Alexandria, VA
Thanks. Before I finished reading your comment, I was thinking you could a dog picture on it. You could also put vinyl paw prints on it, maybe have them going down and around from the opposite side to make it look like the dog or cat walked from the other side. I would love to see a photo of it.
These are really pretty
Thanks.
Adorable thx for sharing
Thanks.
So,sòoooooo cute. Tfs.😀
Very cool, will be doing this with my Mason jars I have. I mainly do journals, but love to take breaks to do other things . New subbie here, would love to be crafty CZcams friends!
Hint: use an old microwave turntable for your jars. Beautiful.
Do you use your regular cooking oven? Or do you have one specific for cooking painted items?
I am so impressed with these tissue holders. I love the idea and love them. They are just darling❣
I just happened upon this video and watched, thoroughly enjoying it. So much so, I joined your family 🤗
God bless you ❤ XOXO
Thanks.
So cute
The commentary is adorably hilarious 😅
Loved your ideas! Tfs! I subscribed😘
Thank you. I am glad you liked the video.
This was a nice video, but for those who prefer another way, I use chalk paint. I think spray paint is messy, but it's a matter of personal preference. After it dries, apply paper flowers or any design, or even stickers, then adhere and paint all over with foam brushes using Mod podge. I like to use matte, especially if you'll be taking pictures to cut out the glare. After thoroughly dry, (no oven needed), paint with Rust-Oleum, (or any decent brand), varnish. After finishing, add ribbon, jute, and any embellishments you might want. Good luck!
Nice 🌟
I'm a new subscriber came across your video on CZcams amazing video and clever idea thank you for sharing your talent🌾
Thank you for the compliment. I am still new at this. I am glad you liked the video. I hope to do more later on when I get a chance.
Adorable and I cant wait to make some :)
Thanks. Let me know how they turn out.
I will show them on my channel and put the link here for you.
Pretty! New sub 😊 I feel like from you narrating you would be awesome at reading children's books or even audio books.
Thank you for the compliment.
Good job!
Thanks.
How big are your letters and designs that you cut from your cricut? I’m new to the cricut and have never cut letters or designs on it ~ I love this idea thanks for sharing.
I love your video! Can you please tell m which font's you used?
What does the oven baking do? Does that help set the paint?
Just subscribed thank you for sharing
You’re welcome.
Do you have any issues with the cricut vinyl
What size jar did you use? Is that a wide mouth quart or small quart?
They look beautiful! My pot question , is an oven you cook food in? I wouldn’t assume so because of the Chemicals right?
Mrs Kelly i have had the worst luck with Cricut Viny i did exactly what you said im gonna purchase another brand and try that Thanks so much again 😊🤗🙏🏽
I’m sorry for your troubles with Cricut vinyl. Maybe it would work for you on a different project.
I agree. At the time of this video, all I had was Cricut vinyl. So, I had to use what I had on hand.
So cute! What font did you use?
What is the name of the font you used? I love these
Loved you video! New sub here! I have a question, would it be possible to stenil the words onto the jar using acrylic paint or permanent marker and stencils, and seal it with the mod podge sealer? I don't have one of those cutters and was wondering if this method would work instead. Thank you!
Thanks. I’m glad you liked the tutorial. I am not sure about stenciling on the jars, but I will try to find out about that. I would think it would be possible, though. I will let you know within the next week or so what I find out.
I've had a Cricut for 15 years. I can tell you that yes you can stencil on it. As with any stencil you use or make, remember less is more. Do several light coats than one that is too heavy a coat of paint. The use of too heavy will almost always result in leaking under the backside of the stencil. I do use my cricut, but you could easily cut one out of clear contact paper to apply to the jars. Be sure to get all the air bubbles out and clip the outside edges so they can overlap so it fits nicely around the curvature of the jars. I hope this helps you out! :)
Love these so much!! New subscriber here. Do you have a video showing how you made the burlap flowers that you added?
Thank you. The flowers were already made. I bought them that way.
For simple flowers like the ones she used, you can cut circles out of burlap then recut them to give your petal shapes. When you are done, give them a healthy coat of mod podge & let them dry (this will make them stiff instead of floppy). Glue your layers together & add a center of your choice (you can use beads, or gems or even just draw one on using a Sharpie).
do you know where someone can buy the saying you put on the jar, I do not have a cricket
Also Mrs Kelly where do you purchase plain mason jars from?
I bought my smooth sided quart size mason jars at Walmart, but some people have found them at the Dollar Tree and other places.
Hi!Why did you cook the jars if you sprayed a sealer?
Baking them in the oven helps to lock the paint on the jar. It seems to make less scratchable.
could you please tell me what font you used for your lettering please and thank you!
Where do you get the "Bless You" stencil ? I don't have a cutting machine to cut one out. So I need an actual stencil.
I cut my words out in vinyl with my Cricut Explore Air 2.
Did you bake the rings as well? I used really good spray paint and it scratched off. :(
You need a sealant. Krylon makes some good ones. Baking the jars is really not needed. Just use a good sealer after your paint is good and dry. Hope this helps.
I’m curious why do you put the jars in the oven ? Thank u🙂
I love this idea, not so much placing them in the oven if you cook in your oven. I don't know about that. I'd just seal them. Maybe just leaving them out in the sun a few days and turning them over. I feel this way because I'm not sure if some of the chemicals in the paint might kind of step out and possibly stay somewhere in the oven walls.
@@wiseforce7045 Not to mention off gassing in your home for the 30 minutes +. I would avoid the oven but these are really sweet.
Hi can you tell me where you got the swirl you use under the bless you thanks
If I remember correctly, the swirl was free on Design Space when I had my free subscription. It may still be free on there. I can’t remember exactly, but I may have taken a free image on Design Space that included a swirl, taken a snapshot with my iPad, then cleaned it up on Design Space to have only the swirl left. Sorry this is such a long run on sentence. LOL.
Hello, can you tell me where you got the little fancy line under the "Bless You" jar you did? I love how you did this and I am in the process of making them myself. I'm just having trouble finding that wiggly line. Thanks for your help
I either got it with some free fonts on font bundles. net or I got it off the internet and cleaned it up in Design Space. I kind of want to think it came from Font Bundles, though. Sorry I can’t remember exactly.
@@mrs.kellyscorner6624 Thank you!
You’re welcome. I’m glad you like the jars.
This is a great idea and I would love to make some, but where I live in Australia I have never heard of tissues in a cylinder before! Only ever seen them in square or rectangle boxes or in those lil plastic travel bags. Is it possible to make them with regular boxed tissues?
There is a video on CZcams that shows you how to use the box type tissues in the jars, but I couldn’t get them to work very well. I may try again later. Maybe you can get them to work. Please let us know how it works out for you. Just remind me who you are when you do let us know.
Thank you so much for replying. I will do some youtube searching to see if I can find the video you are referring to, and will try it and let you all know how it went. Many blessings 🤗
I have found a short under 5 minute video on a channel called “For Sophie Designs” which is a troubleshooting video with regards to using rectangle box tissues in the mason jar tissue dispensers, it seems to work for her if anyone wants to look her channel up and give it a go. I am dying to try it myself. I think they would make a lovely gift idea or just a nice addition to our own home decor 🤗
If it were me. I would try the box type tissues in an unpainted jar first before painting some. That way you would know that you can get it to work. That’s just my opinion, though.
That is a very good point to make I agree! 🙂
Hello Mrs Kelly how did you apply the modge podge? and your font did you purchase it? i just purchased my cricut so im learning also after modge podge you sprayed on a acrlic?
The Mod Podge that I used was a clear acrylic sealer. I used the spray kind. Even though mine is a spray, the other kind would be fine, too.
I used my Cricut to cut out my letters. I got them either from Design Space or from my iPad system. A lot of Design Space fonts would work fine.
Thanks Mrs Kelly 😊
You’re welcome.
If you need anymore help, just ask. If you want, I can also post a photo here of the acrylic sealer that I used in the video.
Mrs. Kelly’s Corner Thanks i
sure will!
Do these jars need to be Wide Mouth Jars or Regular Mouth Jars? I want to get the right size so that the tissues pull out properly. Thank you!
I would think that it doesn’t matter. I do think that the wide mouth jars would work. You could buy one of those tissue containers and try it in one.
Going to make these tomorrow- I'm worried the transfer paper will take the paint off the mason jar- did you run into this issue at all?
I didn’t have any issues at all with the paint coming off with the transfer paper.
Where did you get this jars?
Hello Mrs Kelly, Can you please tell me where i can get the flowers you have on your jar at? Thank you
I bought them at Hobby Lobby, if I remember right.
Do you hot glue your burlap flowers to the jar?
Yes, I hot glued the flowers directly to the jar. You could hot glue it to the jute at the top of the jar if you wanted to, though.
Hello I am new and have a question. What font cartridge do you use?
I used a font on Cricut Design Space. I think it was Brush Script.
Hello Mrs Kelly its me again. i was wondering if you can give me any tip on what kind of black vinyl to use on the jars? i bought the cricut brand and when i try to take the transfer tape off the jars the letters are not staying on i did cricut glitter vinyl and those are perfect its just the black im having trouble with i followed your video step by step im almost to the finish line Thanks in advanced for your time
I use the Cricut brand from Walmart, just in black. When you take the transfer tape off, you can’t just pull it off. This is kind of hard to explain, but I’ll try. When you start to take the tape off, fold it back on itself where it is touching itself and go slow, making sure the vinyl is staying on as you go. It is kind of like you are peeling it off instead of just pulling. You may need to use your finger nails, tweezers, weeding tool or something else to hold it down as you peel it off. Make sure you go slow and make sure it is staying on as you go. You will get to practice your patience. Maybe one day I will do a video on how I take the transfer tape off. If you need a better explanation, please let me know.
I personally think using the transparent contact paper works better than the cricut transfer tape. Sometimes the transfer tape made by cricut is too tacky and the vinyl doesn't release as easy. The glitter vinyl is rough but with practice it gets easier, make sure you're getting your cricut dial to custom though and not just vinyl when using glitter
I meant setting not getting
I am now using transparent contact paper. One reason I like using it is because it is less expensive. Another reason is because it works great for me.
Mrs. Kelly’s Corner not only less expensive but you get so much more too.
Adorable! I don't own a cricut but I don't need the words necessarily..
You should be able to use any peel and stick lettering on these since its all getting sealed. Good luck!
It would be fine without the words, but like another person said, you could use the peel and stick letters then seal it. Have fun.
رائع
Where do you find jars with nothing on them?
How did you get your words to stick? You didnt show that part how?
I love these. Im not sure why its necessary to put them in the oven other than it may help with the paint setting. Regardless I will be trying this exactly how you said it should be done. These are adorable. Thanks so much for the share and you just got a new subscriber.
I saw on multiple websites about putting them in the oven. I really don’t know why. Maybe it cures them better. I do know the paint is on there really good. Maybe you could check other websites and see if you can find out and let us know. Thanks.
@@mrs.kellyscorner6624 it's how glass paint works, it needs to cure in the oven.
Glad you liked the jars. Let me know if you try sealing them a different way. I just sealed mine this way because that was the way some others on the Internet suggested. I did make sure I cured them in the oven at a time when I wasn’t going to be using it for a couple or more days.
@@mrs.kellyscorner6624 Thank you for your reply. I actually would like to make a suggestion since you asked. I was thinking..,How about possibly using like a pretty large toaster oven maybe you can use outside or something just for the art? Another thing I wanted to mention was the thing about using it when you're not going to be using the oven for a couple of days; even if it's not going to be used for a couple of days if there is any fumes that expel and become part of the oven walls in a microscopic level over time we can't see these things so it's best not to use it at all. I don't think a couple of days of not using the oven is going to necessarily make whatever paint is in there disappear from the interior of the oven. I would say just to be as precautious as possible for safety reasons not to use it on an oven that you will cook food in But like I said before , maybe a toaster oven, now., I know a toaster oven is a lot smaller so I don't know how that would work being that the heat is so much closer to the jars. I'd like to to share an experience in remembering an art class I took where we would make pottery & glaze it and put it in an oven/Kilm and that oven always had some kind of a smell even after all the pottery was taken out. Of course that was being used heavily on a daily basis but when thinking of that it makes me think about what could happen over time? I will share another thing., I have family members that don't smell things that I do and don't pick up on things that I detect. I've read that many people that are okay being around paints become so used to it they don't detect certain things that could be there and could be harming in the long run.
Well., I think I made my point and shared what I feel is important. I want to emphasize again that I do love the jars, they're very beautiful and so above adorable and I can't wait to make them myself. Thank you for again for reaching out and letting me know your thoughts also. I wish you well and may you always be blessed. ✌️ ❤️
Thank you for the suggestions and for being so kind about it. If you do try sealing your jars with Mod Podge, please let me know how it does. I am very interested in this.
@@mrs.kellyscorner6624 Q: is mod poge the best way to do this so far?
I am so OVER using chalk paint on jars. I always clean with alcohol, and am very careful to paint and usually let jars rest at least 1 day usually 2-3 days before applying the second coat. EVERY time I am almost done with the second coat the paint tears the first layer off. I try to fix them and they come out looking terrible! Now I am going to try your method of spray painting and putting in the oven.
Does the smell of the paint stay in your oven? I would hate to use my oven for baking cookies and they taste like paint.
Linda Saum, I did this in my oven when I knew I wasn’t going to cook in it for a while. When I did finally cook in it the next evening, I did not have an odd taste and it didn’t make me sick. I don’t know about how others have felt afterwards, just myself. Hope this helps.
How did you make the cute flowers? Are they burlap? What is the center? These are so cute! I’m going to look for the tissue first. Thanks, I really hope I can. I’ve never seen them here (Central Valley) in California but I haven’t looked either! 👍
I bought the flowers at Hobby Lobby. I’ve seen some similar to these at Walmart recently.
Great!! Thanks, I will be going there today!! God bless you.
You’re welcome.
Luanne Bain if you have a cricut, it can cut burlap material. So you can make your own.
sworley1956 no luxuries like that!
Hello Kelly, did you mason jars come with the Rings so there will be a hole for the tissue?
Yes, my jars came with the rings and lids. I bought them at Walmart.
Of the rings and lids, I didn’t use the lids, just the rings.
When I spray painted my jars the paint looked like it was running . Do you know what I did wrong .
When I spray painted mine, I did multiple thin coats.
Great Video! I was wondering how the kleenex was "folded" to pull out the jar's. Now I know the secret. lol Don't you just love your Cricut Explore?! Your jars are just beautiful. I will be making some of these for gifts and to donate for our local Pink Out in the future. Thanks! Hugs, Brenda
Thanks. Yes, I really like my Cricut.
Mrs. Kelley what size did you make your words on your cricut?
Measuring it on the jar after it is made, it measures a little less than 2” from the highest point to the lowest point of the “Y.” To be exact, it is 1 7/8”. Thanks for asking. If you have anymore questions, please ask.
Mrs. Kelly’s Corner thank you. I love your work, so neat and pretty!
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.
Yes, I made the words on my Cricut. It was easy to do, too.
supercute
I’ve never seen Kleenex packets like that. Where did you buy it?
I bought them at Target, if I remember correctly.
Mrs. Kelly’s Corner Thank you
You’re welcome.
Joan Cook
How many ounces are the jars?
just beautiful.Only one little piece of advise: your VOLUMEN. It was so hard for me to hear. Thanks
Did she state anywhere exactly what kind of vinyl she used ??? Permanent, removable????
I used permanent vinyl.
